Cabin, 5 Bedrooms, 3.5 Baths, (Sleeps 10)
A modern log home, completely wood inside and out. Just a small glimpse of heaven from this beautiful lake front log home with breathtaking views of Nantahala Lake and the mountains that surround. The majesty of the mountains rising out of the crystal clear cool mountain lake waters is magnificent. This large body of water towers at a height of 3013 ft above sea level.
The spaces inside are large and comfortable for 10 people. The kitchen is fully equipped and modern with a Jenn-Aire dual fuel gas stove top cooking and electric baking. The dining table will seat 8 people comfortably and has a view of the lake. The bedrooms all have queen or king beds. The basement, which has a pool table, an air hockey table, a dart board and a TV, all for your entertainment. It also has an additional bathroom with shower/tub and a laundry room with washer and dryer.
There is an outdoor fire pit for roasting marshmallows and making s'mores, or just build a fire outside and enjoy. If you choose to bring a boat, there is a deep water, concrete, public ramp for launching nearby and we have a deep water dock for keeping your boat during your stay. The lake is lowered beginning August and it doesn't come back up until the spring. During these times the dock will be resting on the lake bottom.
The gentle slope from the house to the lake and dock is easy to walk along the gravel path, which has a few landings created for sitting outside and to enjoy watching the water activities on the lake.
There is a Harrah's Casino within a 30 minute drive.
Must be 28 years or older to rent.
We recommend all wheel drive to drive down our steep driveway.
Keywords: Lake Front Log Home, very private dock, easy access to dock, lake frontage, nearby rafting, casino, secluded.

About Property Manager
We are from Central Florida. We have two children, both married. We are fortunate enough to have our children living near us and they all love to visit the lake house. Doug and our daughter are both Electrical Engineers and our son is a systems designer. I stayed at home and raised our children and have dabbled with interior design and I work from time to time on projects. We are looking forward to the time that we can stay at the lake house for longer than a week or 2 at a time. That will have to wait for now. Retirement is not in the near future for us.
Property Manager purchased this Cabin in 1998
Why Property Manager chose Topton
We searched every camping vacation we planned in North Carolina for a piece of land to purchase and dreamed of building a log home on it. We saw an add on the internet one Christmas Day and went up the following April to take a look with the realtor. The lake was crystal clear, so big. We decide to buy right then and there. Looked a few pieces of lakefront property but settled on this beautiful hollow on a large cove along the shoreline of the lake. This story was established in 1998 and we have enjoyed it ever since.
What makes this Cabin unique
We love this property for it's secluded feel and gentle slope to the water, no steps. That is much better for us flat landers. As we turn into the top of the driveway from the road we see our decorative gate and the emblem that says "Est. 1998". As we drive down the 1st part of the drive we are closed in by the beautiful and thick leyland cypress trees that line the driveway. It isn't until we make that first turn that we see the lake and the house. It's always a "wow" moment. The newest feature is the porte-cochere that we just built. A place to park the car without the rain or snow falling on us and covered steps to the front door. The concreted drive make is a breeze to get in and out of the drive now with our 4-wheel drive vehicle. Once we open the front door and walk into the house there is this expansiveness with windows all looking out to the back and the lake. We love the coziness of the exterior gas burning fireplace on the enclosed porch, the wood burning fireplace in the living space and the wood burning fireplace in the back overlooking the lake. The three levels give it the feeling like you may be the only one there while groups of people are playing pool and watching TV on the lower level, some napping in the upper level and hanging around the kitchen and the living space on the entry level. The enclosed porch is where I am most of the time, either reading or browsing the internet with a glass of wine and some cheese and crackers.

Extremely inviting and beautiful
Great for big families with the downstairs for children. The cove is wonderful so people can swim and not worry about boats zooming by. The covered porch with the fireplace is wonderful in the mornings for coffee and reading. I would definitely consider staying there again the next time I return to the lake. Thanks for an incredible week!!
Thank you very much for the review. You are spot on about the game room in the lower level and the cove for swimming as boats usually don't come into the cove unless they are guests or owners, not to mention when I visit I am drinking coffee, readings and having a glass of vino on the covered porch with the gas fireplace. I appreciate you considering being a repeat guest for future vacations. Take care and hope that many family memories were made while you were in Little Choga aka Heavenly Lands.
Gorgeous home and location right on the lake
WOW! This property is beautiful and the location on a cove on Nantahala Lake was perfect. We brought kayaks and used them every day right off the dock. The house was plenty large enough and well-equipped for our group of 9. The basement was perfect for our teenagers and we all enjoyed the screened-porch fireplace each evening. The kitchen and dining was perfect and had enough space for multiple cooks and for everyone to sit around the table at once.
We took day trips each day to different hikes and parks and visited some local spots for food and beer. The area is beautiful and we will return... and this house will be our "go-to" for a group vacation again.
We'll be back, one of the best and most memorable trips we've had, great experience, awesome home. Thank you for sharing, Dan and Gina McCaughey & Boys, Baton Rouge
Wonderful lake house
We had extended family stay at stoney brook for the 4th of July holiday. Wonderful large house and a great lake to visit. Will definitely stay here again
Thanks for your great review. I am so glad that you have chosen our cabin for your next vacation. You were a great guest and I am grateful that you are staying again in the coming year.
Stoney Brooks is all you need to be disconnected from the Outside world
The Cabin is awesome!. The reason I could not give the 5 stars is because some of the amenities and entertainment require some maintenance. AWD is highly recommended (actually it is a must). Now the good stuff, room are big and comfortable, the kitchen area is great for those who actually cook, living areas are huge. The view could not be better, the lake is so peaceful that you don't want to get inside just bring you bottle of wine and enjoy.
Stoney Brook is fabulous!
Stoney Brook is fabulous! Our family had the best time ever! The house is all that you could want and more. The pictures do not do it justice. It is well equipped and so very comfortable. They have thought of everything you might need. My wife and I loved the screened in deck with gas fire place, it was perfect for morning coffee and meditations. Our sons enjoyed the down stairs rec-room and the great access to the lake. However, the fishing was less than stellar. This beautiful home is just a short drive from rafting, and the lake is truly stunning. Bring your boat, it is worth the effort. This place is quite and secluded, it feels very private, yet we never felt bored. There is much to see and do. It took a few days before our kids (4 college students) figured out they could access the wifi for their mobile technology, and we didn’t experience any outages or problems with satellite or utilities, and the hot tube was a welcome pleasure, especially after a long day of rafting. Everything was in proper working order, however, I would suggest a new gas grill. At night, we played cards, fixed outrageous meals, watched movies and roasted marsh mellows on the spectacular fire pit just off the deck. We took late night boat rides, and spent much needed time getting reacquainted, laughing and making memories. We will be back!
