My husband and I have 4 teenagers. The WHOLE family loves to get away to the mountains of NC. A time to truly enjoy nature, culture, culinary and your family. This is truly a magical home. Donna has been going to Burnsville since she was 6 years old! Our 4 children have been going there since birth. This is an incredible area to relax and enjoy the mountains. We are happy to share our home with you.

Burnsville is a piece of Hidden Heaven close enough to ANYTHING you want to do. I've been going there since I was 6 years old with my Parents and brother and sisters. Close to Asheville, Easy travel by air with 2 airports only an 1hour to 1.5 hours away with cheap rates from AllegiantAir or Southwest. Close to Blue Ridge Parkway, Ski, Water, Artist Communities, EVERYTHING!
Quite, peaceful, a place to go to to bring the family together. A quality lifestyle away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Our family had a wonderful time staying here. The cabin was great and the Cane river is just at the end of the road where you can fish and swim and even swing from a rope into the river. Burnsville is a great little town with some cool shops. The Blind Squirrel is a legit restaurant and brewery. The coffee shop in town, Appalachian Java, makes a killer iced Americano. The Carolina Hemlocks are about 30 minutes away where you can jump off rocks into a cold natural swimming hole or tube down the river. We spent a whole day there picnicking and swimming. We drove about an hour and half southwest and enjoyed some amazing swimming holes and waterfalls. Loved it.
As much as I don't want others to know about this fantastic home, it would be wrong of me to not share such a gem. Kudos to owners David and Donna for the wonderful job they have done on this home; they truly put great thought and detail into every aspect of this home to make it the perfect getaway! The home was spotless when we arrived, something you unfortunately do not find much of these days, the kitchen had plenty of dishes, bowls, cups, cooking utensils, the beds were comfortable and not worn down, and the double sinks in the bathroom is perfection! There was so much to do in the area; great fly fishing, nature trails, FRESH air, beautiful scenery, everything here is perfect! I cannot wait to go back!
My family and I decides to shake up the typical beach themed 4th of July holiday and to North Carolina! I am SO glad we found this beautiful property! This is what home away from home feels like; we never wanted to leave! A fully stocked kitchen with every utensil you could imagine, comfortable beds, beautiful decor, comfortable couches, I could go on and on. We got to truly enjoy the beautiful nature the mountains of North Carolina have to offer; nature trails, fly fishing, white water rafting, and fresh mountain air. Everyone put away their cell phones and we truly got to enjoy our time together. We are already planning a fall trip to see the leaves change colors!
Had a great time, totally unplugged and enjoyed nature. Fishing, and nature walks, fresh air and cooler weather. Will definitely plan a trip to visit again in the near future. Your home is set up perfectly with all the comforts of home.
This was just what my family needed. Quiet and relaxing, yet lots of exciting things to do. The home was beautiful and had everything we needed to feel at home. The hiking and fishing was a blast. We can't wait to go back.
Close to Asheville, Tennessee, Kentucky and Virginia. Many Events in Western North Carolina make visiting a pleasure any time of year. Belle Chere in Asheville in July is a wonderful art festival with a plethora of arts, food and entertainment. The Blue Ridge Parkway is always a beautiful drive. The Ultimate Lazy River on the South Toe River outside of Burnsville for $5 and 3-4 hours on the river. Knives and Forks restaurant in Spruce Pine is a Farm to Table INCREDIBLE restaurant! A MUST for the epicurean.
