Clean, comfortable and bright home. Beautiful large windows provide for wonderful views from every room. Lovely hot tub, wine deck and fire pit mostly private due to the nicely forested lot. We found it a really nice energy, great place to relax. Comfortable bed. Great for a private getaway (we were a couple) or would suit a group of friends together. Nice private path steps to the ocean, we took long walks to explore tides and pools. Great for surfing and boogie boarders. The House is very quiet and was nice and toasty warm for our fall stay. The house is very quiet, but for the sound of the ocean tides. Lots to do in the area and only a few minutes drive to town for grocery, bakery, restaurants etc. We absolutely loved our stay and were able to completely relax in this getaway - hoping to come back soon.
We stayed here in August 2016 and were really quite excited at booking it.
The location is just plain stellar. There is no other way to put it. There is Tofino, then there is staying in Tofino on Chesterman Beach, then there is staying on Chesterman beach directly in front of the surfing area as this play is. This location just plain can't be beat.
But beyond on that our experience was pretty underwhelming.
Upon our arrival the place was well... close to filthy. The walls were covered with bug spatters which we cleaned and also asked the property manager to address - she did. The floors turned our socks black. The bbq was caked with the remnants of previous cooking. We had four raggedy towels for a week for a family of four, including two kids. The property manager did to her credit give us more. The property manager was very courteous but after a while we gave up with asking about things and just accepted that the place was in a general run down state.
The coffee maker stopped working half way through the week. The kitchen is outfitted with mismatched cutlery and a hodgepodge of other utensils and pots and pans. It works for sure but it feels like a kitchen that a group of college students would use and maintain.
In general, the owners are counting on this being all about location. It's evident that this place has been used to party - h-a-a-a-a-a-a-r-d.
This just doesn't live up to what it appears to be. If you can overlook the disrepair and cleanliness then you will be fine with this place.
To finish on a more positive note, the hot tub and wine deck are to die for - views are spectacular and sun sets are magical.
Very clean, spacious and well appointed. Possibly the best location in Tofino: near the south end of Chesterman Beach. From the hot tub, patio or living room could watch surfers from morning until after sunset. In one direction you are right around the corner from wonderful tide pools and the other direction take a long walk along the beach to Wickaninnish Inn.
Donna was very prompt to respond to all enquiries.
Happy to recommend this property.
It would be hard to choose which we liked better – our spectacular Tofino Beach Oasis home-away-from-home or all the trips we took into the surrounding area. I think it will have to be a 5 to 5 tie on a 5-based scale with 5 being the highest score. We loved them both. The house was marvellous with its views, not only from the living and dining rooms but also from all three bedrooms. The top turret with the captain’s chair and the hot tub along with the sound of the surf putting us to sleep at night were added treats. We loved the hike to Frank Island at low tide so much that we did it twice to see the tide pools and their contents. The location was central to all of our activities including the boat ride (Tofino Water Taxi while watching grey whales, sea otters and a black bear along the way) and hike to the hot springs; Rainforest Trail (both sides of the road); Willowbrae Trail and Florencia Bay to see a beached whale with its eagles and vultures and a shipwreck as well as the Wild Pacific Trail in Ucluelet. We also went 30 min. back from the junction on Highway 4 towards Pt. Alberni to go on the spectacular West Coast Wild Zip-line and to top-off the end of a couple of days at the Sea Shanty and Sobo restaurants in Tofino. The Common Loaf Bake Shop supplied treats that we took back to the Oasis. Our complete experience was beyond the initial expectations of our group of five - a set of grandparents, grandson and his parents. Yes, and we all did the zip-line!!!
The house is so comforting there is literally everything you'll need to have an amazing time. Hot tub rocks! Great games and books for kids and a lovely fire in the living room.
Will no doubt be back :)
The most ideal location in Tofino. Fantastic house with all the amenities. Kid friendly, clean, spacious and cozy. Perfect for a family getaway or a couples weekend. I absolutely love this place and will be back many times for sure!
Whale watching, old growth forest hiking, storm watching, first nations cultural museum/gallery.
