Overview

Northwest Colorado Condo Rental Photos and Description

Condo, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-7)

We purchased the penthouse condo literally sight-unseen based on a friend’s recommendation and we were glad we did. Located within Storm Meadows at Christie Base, the location is premier with true ski-in/out access. In the mornings our snow conditions report is out the back door. We ski/board down to the Christie Lift. At lunch we come back to the condo and eat in the dining area overlooking the slopes. At the end of the day (we let the kids do the night skiing), a soak in the hot tub, a few minutes in the sauna then off to Ski Time Square for dinner and drinks, just 200 yards from the condo. When we head into downtown Steamboat Springs, we enjoy the free in-town shuttle from the Ski Time Square stop.

We designed the interior to be impressive yet comfortable. From the slate entry to the expansive slope views to the designer furnishings and double-height ceilings. The first level of our home is the entertaining/living level with a living room dominated by a 20+ feet high moss-rock gas fireplace with built-in blower, a 42” flat-screen (can be seen from the slopes) and a sofa (does NOT open to a bed, we wanted comfort) and chairs you just want to plunge into.

The dining area seats 8 at bistro height to allow viewing of the television and DVD’s when not listening to the stereo. The kitchen is expansive is fully equipped and there is a full bathroom on this level as well.

The living room opens to a balcony with beautiful views from the morning sun on the slopes to the twinkling lights of the valley floor. While daytime is impressive, our designer installed pin-point halogens and designer lighting throughout to truly enhance the evenings. Do not be surprised to see skiers and boarders looking up at the unit from the slopes, it’s that impressive at dusk and into the evening.

Upstairs (our designer replaced the spiral staircase with straight stairs) are three(3) large bedrooms. The master bedroom offers a queen bed, designer bedding, built-in lighting, a large television and a ceiling fan with expansive glass facing west over the living area onto the slopes. The second bedroom is a Jr. Master with a modern queen bed, designer bedding, flat-screen television and built-in halogen wall sconce lights. The third bedroom which we consider a “family suite” offers two individual twin beds with designer bedding, a fold-out full sleeper and a flat-screen TV, perfect for children or adults as the room lays out as a suite. On this level, there is a full bathroom and a ¼ bath as well.

Wireless internet is provided throughout the condo and all rooms have individual thermostats.

Our unit is annually shown to Central Reservations of Steamboat Springs as an example of an “A” rated unit. While we spend months renovating the interior from solid pine doors and designer carpeting, we must admit, the amenities and location are just as impressive.

We know what clients desire concerning ease, we offer condo check-in by our local on-site concierge', one of the finest in Steamboat. Once you arrive at our building and park, guests take the elevator to the top floor as our condo is the top two-levels of the building, no noisy neighbors above.

Amenities in the building include a sauna and changing room as well as an individual “ski-locker” which is just steps away from the access to the slopes (there is also a ski rack by the door if you wish to pop in for lunch or apres ski and then back out for night skiing). Adjacent to the building is a new outdoor hot tub locked and only accessible to guests insuring privacy.

As mentioned we start the day by skiing out of the building to the base area and jump on the lift. Midday we usually drift back to the condo for lunch (even though Ragnar’s on the mountain should not be missed). In the evenings (assuming we are not night skiing), we use the same ski-slope door to access Ski Time Square, the base area of Mt. Werner. For casual we suggest the any options in Ski Time Square and the Torian Plum Arcade. Heading to downtown Steamboat? Leave the car in the lot. About 200 yards from the back-door is a stop (Ski Time Sq) for the free in-town shuttle.

For us the condo is not an investment, it is a lifestyle. We designed the condo for guests to truly feel comfortable and to enjoy a carefree vacation at one of the finest ski resorts in the world. Our on-site manager/concierge company provides guests access 24/7. For guests we provide the full vacation package as free time is so valuable, why waste it on inferior lodging and location.

What makes this condo unique

When we bought the condo our singular reason was the amenity of the ski-in/out location. There is a rare luxury of being able to walk out the back door in ski boots, snap on our skis and ski down to the lift. In the evenings we suggest a dip in the hot-tub, the views are amazing. For the pulled muscles, the sauna in our building is heaven. Beyond the condo be sure to enjoy the amenities in and around the area from natural hot springs to gourmet dining to affordable family activities. We are so happy with our condo and we know you will be too.

Hi Joseph,

Just wanted to tell you how much we loved our stay at Storm Meadows. The apartment had everything we needed and we LOVED Tim's chilli…Paul keeps at me to ask for the recipe!!! It was such a great spot for us and loved looking out over the runs to the valley. The girls especially loved the snow play and would rush out each afternoon after skiing to make snowmen and play on the sleds.

Will complete a proper review on vrbo when I am home next weekend.

Thanks so much for making our stay a highlight. We love Steamboat…6 days wasn't nearly long enough!

Right on the ski slopes, you are able to walk out the back door of the building and begin your adventure on the mountain whether it is skiing or hiking. Tim, the property manager, was accommodating to our arrival time and departure. He was very informative and knew the town very well. We were walking distance to bars and restaurants and a short drive into down. The place was very clean with comfortable beds and a full kitchen. I will definitely be booking this place this winter for a ski trip or again next spring/summer for a quick weekend getaway.

Great summer condo with view & hiking/biking trail access!

  • 5 of 5

Amazing view! Very clean with plenty of towels and full kitchen. Home away from home! Backyard access to hiking and biking trails, gondola, shopping, restaurants, and full service bike shop with rentals and downhill lessons. All within a quick walk distance. Five minute drive to downtown with more shopping and restaurants. We stayed during the summer time but evenings were cool temps for star gazing on the balcony. Perfect for our family of 5 but can sleep up to 8 comfortably. Plenty of room to spread out. Mountain bikers paradise (FS bike with drop seat post preferred). Highly recommend a downhill lesson at Steamboat Bike Park. It was awesome! Took family up gondola and hiked down with great view. We had fun with kiddos (ages 10, 12, and 15) at Hot Springs water park, Alpine slide, and SUP lessons with Mtn Sports. Definitely coming back soon with family or mtb buddies to hit more trails at Emerald park!

Awesome condo with a great view!

  • 5 of 5

What a great place to have a family vacation! The condo was just the right size and had great separation of private and public space. We were able to put our 2 year old to bed and still hang out in the evenings without waking her up. We were also easily able to cook some meals in the kitchen, although we didn't do a ton of cooking since we were so close to lots of great places to eat. We had a blast playing at the little beach nearby and watching the bmx bikers do their thing on the mountain. The views from the unit's top floor balcony were spectacular! I would absolutely recommend staying there and hope to come back soon!

Perfect location for ski in and out!

  • 5 of 5

This Condo was perfect for our family of 5. The best part of the trip was having Tim meet us when we arrived. He gave us tips on the mountain and explained the Condo in detail. This is the best place we have ever stayed for ski in and out. Literally we walked out of the back door where your skis are stored and on the trail to go to the lift. No lugging heavy equipment. The other highlight is using "Ski Butlers", they came directly to our room and the equipment was perfect. One last plus was night skiing! Thank you for the perfect week!

Family Ski Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We visited in Feb 2016 for a week with our two boys (4 and 5) and a set of grandparents. The view and location are exceptional. Everyone in our family got a big kick out of watching all the activity on the mountain. Even after hours there is so much going on....night skiing, people snowshoeing up the mountain in the morning and evening. Always something going on. Ski in/ski out was super easy and convenient. You ski down a gently road to get to the base. I would recommend walking the extra couple steps to the upper road to make the ski down easier (you'll see what I mean there are two roads right next to each other, get on the upper one).

The other thing that was a big hit with our boys was sledding. Two sleds come with the condo and all you have to do is walk right out back and you can sled on the slopes. How convenient is that?! I also thought the price was great for ski in/ski out. And the owners did a great job of communicating with us leading up to the trip to make sure we had all the info we needed. We would definitely rent again if we return to Steamboat.

Owner's Response: We are happy to hear you and your family had an amazing time this winter! Keep us in mind for your next trip and don't forget that summer offers tons to do just outside our door as well! We are glad to offer reduced rates for returning guests so feel free to make our condo your second home also. :)

Family Fun in Steamboat

  • 5 of 5

As a family of 5 (including 11yr old twins and an 8 yr old, all girls) we loved Steamboat Springs and loved staying in this apartment. We were greeted on arrival by Tim, who helped us with our luggage, showed us around the apartment and made us feel very welcome. He had even prepared a pot of chilli for us which was just superb (still waiting for the recipe!!!) The apartment is as advertised and the photos are a true representation. The kitchen is very well equipped so we did a big shop in the supermarket downtown and were able to cook our own meals for the week. We really enjoyed the extra space of 2 levels, the super comfy couches, fireplace and being able to eat dinner each night at the large table with a beautiful view of the mountain. There are some games and DVDs, and loved TVs in each room, giving us all the opportunity to relax and enjoy our own shows/movies when need be. It was easy for our girls to get skis from the locker, walk to the trail and ski down the lift. To return we skied to the back door taking Heavenly Daze/Vogue, or the green run when thoroughly exhausted. We skied home some days for lunch and loved the views from the balcony, even on the snowy days! My girls ran out each afternoon after skiing for snow-play and to sled (there are 2 in the apartment which we were so thrilled to find) and had fun making jumps and racing each other down the hills. We could see them from the apartment. Night skiing was a highlight to watch and easy to access from the apartment. Like some other reviewers, we also had a car and enjoyed our trips downtown, especially to the Hot Springs and would highly recommend. The kids loved the waterslide, swimming in the outdoor pool, and rock climbing in a snowstorm, while we enjoyed the hot spring spas. Coming from Australia where on-snow accommodation is exorbitant, we found this apartment with its convenience and ambience, great value for money. This stay was a definite highlight of our trip. There is so much to do in and around Steamboat Springs, our 6 nights was not nearly enough to both ski and experience all the town and surrounding areas has to offer. The quality of service from both Joseph and Tim was exceptional. Have started planning my return visit already!

Owner's Response: Wow, all I can say is "thank you"!. I am so glad your family enjoyed your visit to North America. You also enjoyed one of the best weeks of the season with moderate temperatures and new snow. As you mentioned location; that was one of the deciding factors when we purchased the unit as we desired true ski-in/out as who wishes to lug equipment even if just across a street. I know this was your first visit to Steamboat Springs and I do hope our condo and the resort exceeded your expectations and I hope on a return visit we can take a few runs together and lunch on me at Ragnar’s. Cheers, Joseph

We are located adjacent to the R-O-W run, above above Ski Time Square and The Christie Club. We chose the location as we desired true-ski-in/out access yet also the ability to walk to Ski Time Square and the gondola base.

While Steamboat is known as one of the finest ski resorts in the country, as part-time locals we know there is so much more to the area beyond our ski hill. Apres-ski at the base area is a blast.

During the winter months we love the on-mountain dinner options, best to walk to the gondola from our unit, it is about a 5 minute walk) yet new for 2013/14 night skiing outside our door at The Christie Lift

We use the Ski Time Square bus stop for access to downtown via free in-town bus.

The town of Steamboat Springs is an actual working town and county seat about 2-3 miles away from the base area. Lincoln Avenue, the main street offers visitors a quaint view of the Rocky Mountain West intermixed with locally owned shops, restaurants, entertainment venues and a striking example of art-deco design of our county building.

FM Light & Sons is a must visit for authentic western wear at local prices. Howelson Hill is great for tubbing. Heading into downtown, the natural hot springs are open to the public offering day admission passes.

Strawberry Park is our most well-known hot springs, about 8 miles from our condo. Due to the roads, in winter we strongly suggest taking one of the shuttle services. During the daylight hours it is a festive family atmosphere. After dark the springs are clothing optional. However not to worry, between the darkness and steam rising from the springs, even the most modest will be comfortable.

Be sure to take some time and explore the Town of Steamboat. It is charming and authentic which is rare in most resorts. Locals are friendly, most establishments are family-oriented and overall safe and inviting. We guarantee your first visit will not be your last.
