Beautiful home, outstanding service

  • 5 of 5

We just spent Christmas week at this beautiful home on a river in rural maryland. We had a large party, including a 7 month old baby and my 89 year old father and many in between - everyone was very comfortable and had a wonderful time. There are so many living spaces, making it possible to have separate rooms and even separate spaces within the great room in case someone needed to get the baby to sleep or do a little work. We spent most of our time in the giant and well-stocked kitchen and in the great room, which has a fireplace at each end, a dining table in the middle, and floor to ceiling windows overlooking the water. Even in winter, the gorgeous sunrises and sunsets were spectacular. The beds were comfortable, and there is a large TV room upstairs that we used to accommodate extra sleeping sites for teenagers; there is also another TV/game room in the basement with pacman-type console and a nice air hockey table, as well as board games. Great family spot or spot for a group of friends! We would definitely come back to this house, and are considering trying to arrange a stay in the summer, when the dock and sun chairs and sun porches and kayaks could be used more than we could in December. The nearest grocery is not too close, but it's only a 10-15 minute drive and as long as you plan on this, the remote location is a lovely feature.

Not a problem for our group, but there are steps down into the sunken living room with no railing that might be difficult with very small children; the main stairs going up to the bedrooms are also uncarpeted and seem slippery and dangerous to me. Racing around in socks could be dangerous.

Thanks especially to Woody, who was always available to make us feel at home, to tell us how everything worked and where we might find what we needed; in addition when we left a laptop in the house, he quickly boxed it up and mailed it back to us - we are very grateful!

WOW! THE ABSOLUTE BEST!

  • 5 of 5

This house is INSANE! The pictures look nice, but it's even more impressive in person. This is, by far, the nicest house I've ever stayed in. You will be WOW'd! The house is perfect in every way. The drive up is nice, the area around the house is nice, the view from every room is unreal. This is the perfect house, IMO! I literally would not change a thing. The house is big, but feels warm and cozy because of the way it is laid out. Some many different sitting areas and private porches.

Woody is awesome... he took us through the whole house, showed us everything... was easy to contact when we had questions, let us stay as long as we wanted on the day of our check out... I could go on... and on... and on...

Bottom line: If you can book it, DO IT! It's amazing!

Wedding weekend

  • 5 of 5

I rented this house for my wedding party the weekend we got married at the Chesapeak inn. The house is amazing! Every detail was thought about from the sound system to the kayaks, and the view is unbeatable. At one point before the wedding between the bridal party, the photographers, the hair stylist and the bride and grooms parents there were 30 people in the house and at no point did it seem cramped. We definitely plan on returning when we have time to just relax and enjoy the space!

A Great Weekend Away

  • 5 of 5

This house/owner provided my group (~10 young adults) with an amazing experience on a weekend away. The owner was very generous and helpful upon our arrival and the house was exquisite, to say the least. The dock provides a scenic view of the two adjoining rivers and the sunrise and sunset are an added plus. Thank you so much for this wonderful time and I would recommend this property to anyone interested in any sort of getaway.
