Mangroves and wild tropical flowers provide natural ambience to candlelit dinners at gourmet restaurants that dot the island. Siesta Key restaurants include: Lobster Pot Restaurant (.1 miles), The Cottage (.1 miles), Siesta Key Oyster Bar (.2 miles), Daiquiri Deck (.3 miles), The Old Salty Dog (.3 miles) or Ophelia’s on the Bay (5.6 miles).
Local attractions: Siesta Key’s famously beautiful stretches of sand are ideal for lazy beach days, but active vacationers will find plenty of ways to crank up their adrenaline levels with these local attractions and activities. Some of our attractions include: Marie Selby Botanical Gardens (6 miles), Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall (6.1 miles), John and Mable Ringling Museum (10.3 miles), Mote Marine Aquarium (10.3 miles) or Myakka River State Park (17 miles).
Super location, one of the best on Siesta Key. Plain and comfortable facilities, nicely but not attractively appointed. The king-size bed is very comfortable. Everything worked as it should. The A/C was great. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. But the wi-fi worked only part of the time, and when it did, it kept switching on and off. There were no filters for the coffee machine. No pantry space to store anything. Kitchen very small and not well designed. We started with a partial roll of toilet paper, ran out, found there was no more, and had to borrow a roll from friends. The beach equipment was sparse, poor quality, and in poor condition. Outdoor furniture was in poor condition and dirty. And it wasn't clear which units had the right to use the furniture and when. Parking is five spaces for four units with no assigned parking. We didn't have a problem but parking is tight there and if one or two spaces are taken by non-renters there could be a problem since there's no towing notice posted.
We would use this unit again, but would insist on having the shortcomings taken care of before we would agree to rent.
Pros: Great location
Close to beach and village
Tile floors throughout
Cons: Parking for guests
Worst couch on Earth
Old dirty rug in guest room
No door mats at entrance to wipe shoes or feet off
