Beautiful Views, Great Location, Very Close to Beach, Cafes, Bars & Restaurants

We spent 6 weeks at Brisas Amables Norte. The unit was bright, airy and comfortable and had amazing views of the ocean, mountains and city. We spent most of our time outside on the large patio. Correspondence with Bill was always very easy and quick. His property manager “Alicia” was very helpful and caring. The other guests both in the hotel and condos were very friendly with many of them returning year after year. We also found the front desk clerks at the hotel to be very helpful.

Just a few minute walk from the unit you will find yourself at Los Muertos Beach (Blue Chairs & Green Chairs) via a series of step steps. If you are not in the mood for walking back up the steps, you can take the free funicular (at the Swedes Restaurant) and walk the main road (highway 200) back to the condo.

Places nearby we liked to frequent were the Signature Lounge, Sky Bar, Cocos Kitchen, Pump Gym (at Casa Cupula), Playita Restaurant (at Hotel Lindo Mar), Fridas Bar, Mi Café, Dee’s Coffee Shop and the Sofa Café. We purchased our groceries at the local markets, which were also within walking distance.

In short the condo is very comfortable, it is in a great location, has a large outdoor patio, we got a lot of exercise walking to and from the condo and met a lot of wonderful people during our stay.

Be Careful

- great location

- great kitchen for cooking

- rooftop pool

- the view is amazing

- the terrace is perfect for entertaining.


- the "pull out" day bed in the living room should not be counted as a bed and therefore the max room amount should be reduced to 4 if you value your sleep and good posture.

- it is evident that the owner does not keep on top of maintenance as there are numerous flaws due to normal wear and tear. For example, the shower leaks through the bottom of the door and all it needs is a little grout and some silicon.

- the air conditioner failed after our first night.

- the internet went down on day 1 due to old equipment that is wired wrong (the router is being used as the modem and the modem is being used as the router and both need to be replaced.

- my group was blamed for numerous broken items; the fridge looks like it has been their since the 80's and one of the shelves on the door was cracked so it finally gave when we put a box of juice in the side. Additionally, we were blamed for a broken chair which did not occur on our trip as well as the air conditioning unit for being broken. The owner specifically says in their statement on your check in document not to run the air conditioning unit 24 hours a day to which we complied and it still broke. We did however accept responsibility for 3 broken glasses.

They justified keeping our deposit by lying and saying that we had 8 people in the room which would be impossible unless you are going to fit four per bed. It is evident that they are looking to pin broken items on their guests in an attempt to keep the damage deposit and reduce repair costs.

Our friend was robbed outside of this building and lost one set of keys, which interestingly enough was not mentioned in the check out report. I did notify the building manager that a set was stolen and they did not reply. The reason this is important is because now anyone can make copies and gain access to the premises which is what I suspect they are afraid of admitting.

Overall, it's a great location and if it weren't for the outright lies that were presented to us at time of collection on the damage deposit, I would have given this a higher rating.
