Groton Apartment Rental Photos and Description

Owner-occupied duplex, 5 Bedrooms, 4 Baths, (Sleeps 13)

Welcome to At The Corner! Built in 1876, At The Corner has been a farmstead, rooming house, and B&B in its 135 year history. Recently renovated, the space now features five unique bedrooms, four full bathrooms, a kitchenette, living and dining areas. Four of our five bedrooms have king size beds (two of these rooms also have a twin bed). The fifth has a full bed and a twin bed. Enjoy breakfast on the porch just off the main dining room or wander through our landscaped gardens. At the Corner is ideal for extended family gatherings, reunions, and get-aways. While the rental does not include meals, for weekly guests the kitchen will be stocked with basic provisions to get your stay started.

Located in the town of Lansing, At The Corner is just minutes from many local hot spots, including downtown Ithaca, Cornell University, local and state parks, and the Finger Lakes Wine Trail. This unique lodging will be a luxurious base camp for your Finger Lakes explorations.

We love living At the Corner and are delighted to be able to share our home with you. Our vacation rental offers your group the comfort of a private abode and the B&B-like experience of on-site owners who are long term local residents and are happy to share our knowledge of the area.

We hope to meet you At the Corner.

Please note: VRBO now adds a service fee to travelers that is not related to At The Corner's guest rate or insurance fee. Per the information VRBO has shared with us, “this fee goes to support increased marketing spend (compared to last year), as well as to fund enhancements to [their] sites and traveler services.” The fee is 4% to 9% of the total and is automatically added to any invoice through VRBO so we cannot alter or waive the fee. We will keep you up to date regarding this new fee and feel free to Like our FB for more info: http://www.facebook.com/StayAtTheCorner/

Why The Owner chose New York

This rental is part of our subdivided home and provides access to many local attractions, strong schools, and a quality way of life. Lansing and Ithaca have a depth of community support for agricultural venues, local farmers markets, locally made crafts and locally run businesses.

What makes this apartment unique

At The Corner has beautifully landscaped grounds and lots of local color, including chickens and a small pond. We are moments from Myers Park, a local park that offers swimming, a full playground, boating and other water activities. There are several restaurants within minutes.

Guestbook comments from the owner

A DEFINITE MUST STAY if when visiting the Finger Lakes area:) I was seriously blown away by this place, inside and out! As I drove up to the house (conveniently located int the center of wine country), I felt like I was immediately transported back to a simpler time and place--far enough from the craziness of modern society and yet close enough to get my fix for the city life, when necessary. Inside of the house, I was amazed to see 5 HUGE bedrooms and 4 bathrooms (great for families and couples), a very homey and old-style living room/dining area, and a full kitchen/pantry (with a refrigerator, washer, and dryer). I was also very surprised to learn that all of the house's inner trim and molding was done by one of the extremely talented and artistic owners. The outside of the house was equally amazing. First of all. it had the perfect setting for an outdoor play area/ min-courtyard for families and friends to gather. Surprisingly, there was also a beautifully rustic barn-house, accompanied by a garden area and pond, as well as a nice little chicken coop--to make things complete:) All in all, out of all the places I've ever traveled in the country, I consider "At The Corner" to be the best "bang for your buck" when it comes to the accommodation sizes, offerings, and convenience--especially when you consider its only 15-20 minutes away from the airport, Cornell, and downtown Ithaca. So yeah, next time I roll through the Finger Lakes area, I plan on staying At the Corner:)!!

Wonderful Location for Large Group

  • 5 of 5

We were in Ithaca for a wedding and looking for a place to sleep the entire bridal party. At the Corner was perfect! We slept 13 comfortably and had more than enough space. The side porch and grounds are absolutely gorgeous and perfect for sitting outside. Convenient location to get to downtown Ithaca and Cayuga Lake. Will definitely be recommending At the Corner to my friends!

Very nice!

  • 5 of 5

Ten of us traveled to the Finger Lakes for a long weekend and stayed at "At the Corner." The owners were great to work with and very helpful. I loved the high ceilings and woodwork in this house. It was clean and well maintained, and the owners even gave us a start on our groceries by supplying some staples - milk, eggs, butter, cereal, etc., and even homemade jam. I thought that was such a thoughtful thing for them to do. We enjoyed sitting outside on the side porch. The house does not have air conditioning. It does have ceiling fans and portable fans in the bedrooms, which made the August heat tolerable. We had a great time!

Great Place

  • 4 of 5

Exactly as described, just what we expected & then some. The large area downstairs accommodated all 13 of us at one time. Side deck was perfect for morning coffee. Actually quite near good, reasonably priced eating places & only 15-20 min from Ithaca proper. Would recommend highly to our friends.

At the Corner Vacation Stay

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed at "At the Corner" near Ithaca NY with a party of 8. The place was beautiful both inside and out and the attention to detail was terrific. The owners surely take pride in what they have. Any questions we had during our initial search were answered promptly by the owners. All linens were provided and the interior decorating was fascinating for a house build in 1874. The kitchen had all the cookware, utensils and plates as well as a coffee pot. We would recommend this to anyone and if we come back to this area again this would be our first choice. We all said that we were lucky to have found such a jewell as this in our search for accommodations.

Excellent Home for Large Groups!

  • 5 of 5

A group of 12 guys stayed At The Cornere for a Bachelor party and our stay was fantastic! The home was beautiful and historic. The accommodations were perfect for us, as the house was plenty large enough!

Being about a 10-15mim drive away from downtown Ithaca gave us a great opportunity to get away from the busyness of life to celebrate our friends marriage. It was within driving distance from a number of local attractions for about any activity you can think of.

The naturally shaded patio was great for enjoying cool summer mornings and evenings.

And Emily and Jase were gracious and welcoming!

I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a Ithaca getaway!

big enough for a big family reunion

  • 3 of 5

unique property big enough for a family reunion so that was a positive, enough bathrooms and beds were extremely comfortable , we could tell that money was spent on good linens . The price is a little steep for the accommodations , there is no air conditioning so the first day was pretty warm, luckily with all the windows opened and fans on sleeping wasn't too sticky, a few air units in the common rooms would have been a plus . Also one drawback was that there wasn't a couch in the living room, not the end of the world but kind of unusual . I didn't meet the owners but some people in my party did and said they were super nice , they gave us privacy and you would never know they were there.

Owner's Response: Thank you for this helpful feedback! We do note on our web site and VRBO that we do not have A/C but have repositioned it to be more prominent because we understand that A/C is critical for some guests and we do not want to mislead anyone. Given the recent heat, we have also added fans in the living areas downstairs. We try to provide value for our rate not just through the quality of the accommodations themselves but by providing basic provisions, brochures and information on the many area attractions and local events, indoor amenities such as games, books, child friendly equipment, a piano, jacuzzi tubs, open wifi, etc. and outdoor amenities such as the grill, games, picnic basket, beach towels, and our garden setting. We would welcome any suggestions for ways to provide additional value.
