This rental is part of our subdivided home and provides access to many local attractions, strong schools, and a quality way of life. Lansing and Ithaca have a depth of community support for agricultural venues, local farmers markets, locally made crafts and locally run businesses.
At The Corner has beautifully landscaped grounds and lots of local color, including chickens and a small pond. We are moments from Myers Park, a local park that offers swimming, a full playground, boating and other water activities. There are several restaurants within minutes.
A DEFINITE MUST STAY if when visiting the Finger Lakes area:) I was seriously blown away by this place, inside and out! As I drove up to the house (conveniently located int the center of wine country), I felt like I was immediately transported back to a simpler time and place--far enough from the craziness of modern society and yet close enough to get my fix for the city life, when necessary. Inside of the house, I was amazed to see 5 HUGE bedrooms and 4 bathrooms (great for families and couples), a very homey and old-style living room/dining area, and a full kitchen/pantry (with a refrigerator, washer, and dryer). I was also very surprised to learn that all of the house's inner trim and molding was done by one of the extremely talented and artistic owners. The outside of the house was equally amazing. First of all. it had the perfect setting for an outdoor play area/ min-courtyard for families and friends to gather. Surprisingly, there was also a beautifully rustic barn-house, accompanied by a garden area and pond, as well as a nice little chicken coop--to make things complete:) All in all, out of all the places I've ever traveled in the country, I consider "At The Corner" to be the best "bang for your buck" when it comes to the accommodation sizes, offerings, and convenience--especially when you consider its only 15-20 minutes away from the airport, Cornell, and downtown Ithaca. So yeah, next time I roll through the Finger Lakes area, I plan on staying At the Corner:)!!
Ten of us traveled to the Finger Lakes for a long weekend and stayed at "At the Corner." The owners were great to work with and very helpful. I loved the high ceilings and woodwork in this house. It was clean and well maintained, and the owners even gave us a start on our groceries by supplying some staples - milk, eggs, butter, cereal, etc., and even homemade jam. I thought that was such a thoughtful thing for them to do. We enjoyed sitting outside on the side porch. The house does not have air conditioning. It does have ceiling fans and portable fans in the bedrooms, which made the August heat tolerable. We had a great time!
Exactly as described, just what we expected & then some. The large area downstairs accommodated all 13 of us at one time. Side deck was perfect for morning coffee. Actually quite near good, reasonably priced eating places & only 15-20 min from Ithaca proper. Would recommend highly to our friends.
We recently stayed at "At the Corner" near Ithaca NY with a party of 8. The place was beautiful both inside and out and the attention to detail was terrific. The owners surely take pride in what they have. Any questions we had during our initial search were answered promptly by the owners. All linens were provided and the interior decorating was fascinating for a house build in 1874. The kitchen had all the cookware, utensils and plates as well as a coffee pot. We would recommend this to anyone and if we come back to this area again this would be our first choice. We all said that we were lucky to have found such a jewell as this in our search for accommodations.
A group of 12 guys stayed At The Cornere for a Bachelor party and our stay was fantastic! The home was beautiful and historic. The accommodations were perfect for us, as the house was plenty large enough!
Being about a 10-15mim drive away from downtown Ithaca gave us a great opportunity to get away from the busyness of life to celebrate our friends marriage. It was within driving distance from a number of local attractions for about any activity you can think of.
The naturally shaded patio was great for enjoying cool summer mornings and evenings.
And Emily and Jase were gracious and welcoming!
I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a Ithaca getaway!
unique property big enough for a family reunion so that was a positive, enough bathrooms and beds were extremely comfortable , we could tell that money was spent on good linens . The price is a little steep for the accommodations , there is no air conditioning so the first day was pretty warm, luckily with all the windows opened and fans on sleeping wasn't too sticky, a few air units in the common rooms would have been a plus . Also one drawback was that there wasn't a couch in the living room, not the end of the world but kind of unusual . I didn't meet the owners but some people in my party did and said they were super nice , they gave us privacy and you would never know they were there.
We have stayed at At the Corner 3 times and are coming back next year. We are a big family spanning 3 generations and everyone likes staying here. The house has been beautifully restored and maintained. The grandchildren love the big yard. Emily and Jase are warm, gracious hosts. We are in the area mainly to visit family but we also enjoy the various parks, wineries and other things of interest around and in Ithaca.
