Are water sports your thing? Come stay on beautiful Lake Summit. It's THE place to get wet! Enjoy everything from motorboat sports to first class fishing or just getting a tan. For anglers, it's home to dozens of species of fish. The Green River runs right throught it so you can take your canoe up river all the way to the head waters for great trout fishing. It's only 30 mintues from the best trout streams around, the Mills, Davidson and Green Rivers. (You will need a NC resident or nonresident fishing license if you don’t have one.) It's small enough to be private and large enough to have fun with a motor boat. You can bring your boat with a registration fee of $50. We have a boathouse and brand new dock to make your stay even better... perfect for tanning, eating lunch on the picnic table or just reading a book. For the athletes, it is a great place to take a long run or bike ride around the long, winding perimeter road…it’s about 9 miles around the lake.
The house has two bedrooms with a queen bed in each and 1½ baths (the half bath/laundry room is accessible from a boardwalk that wraps around the exterior of the house so you don’t have to go through the house wet), wood floors, tall ceilings, large kitchen, comfortable beds, great linens, a double sized sofa bed for kids in the living room and a large covered front porch with a view of the lake. No TV, but who needs it when you have all that water to play in, right?
We have repeat guests that have stayed with us for years and we’d love for you to come for your own stay. We also host families whose children attend one of the three summer camps on the lake. It’s really a wonderful spot.

Adorable cabin, clean, well-equipped, comfortable. The front porch was our favorite spot to relax, with a beautiful view of the lake. The pier and boathouse were also great hangout spots and made lake access super easy. Beautiful get-away setting with good restaurants and grocery stores nearby.
My husband and I stayed here for four nights in August 2014. The manager was wonderful and responsive- she rescued us immediately when we managed to lock ourselves out (it's an old tricky lock on the door)! The cottage is lovely and clean, with a large kitchen and a great porch for enjoying the sunsets. The dock is fabulous, and there's even a little beach area for easy entrance/exit of the water. We enjoyed lots of swimming, lounging, and canoeing- and the cottage is a perfect distance from Saluda for whenever we got hungry (and very close to Green River Barbecue- YUM!).
One definite perk is that this property is pet-friendly- we have two medium-sized dogs that we were able to bring with us to enjoy the lake!
We absolutely loved it and will definitely be staying here again!
This was a wonderful, little lake house! It is an historic house, and it has TRUE historic charm! It brought back fond memories of my childhood vacations at the lake...right down to the slamming screen door! Great front porch, fabulous dock, lots of fun in the sand and water, and wonderful canoeing! We definitely want to return!
We did not have a long stay here but it was perfect! Great views, cozy cottage, highly recommend! Thanks so much for for the advice on restaurants and allowing us to rent your beautiful cottage. Caught some fish, enjoyed the sounds of nature, and had a truly wonderful experience. We will definitely be back!
My family stayed here last summer and just loved this home. It's small, but cozy and the really large kitchen was a fun place to gather while making meals to take down to the boathouse and watch the beautiful sunset. The long views from the top of the lake from the house and boathouse are just stunning. We have since purchased a home at the headwaters of the lake and spend all of our time there but I recommend this house all the time to friends wanting to visit. It's reasonably priced compared to the other homes and very comfortable. Besides, it's summer and we spent most of our time outside on the lake swimming, fishing and boating. We highly recommend this cottage.
We took a chance on this adorable little cottage on Lake Summit in Saluda. There were no previous reviews which made me a bit nervous but it was so affordable and we weren't left with many options as we were planning a last minute vacation. I am happy to say we were SO happy with our entire experience. The managers were wonderful to communicate with through the booking process and even took my husband and two of our children for a ride on their boat during our stay! The cottage had super easy access to the lake and the boathouse/dock area was beautiful! There's even a mini beach which was perfect for our four children to splash, swim and play. We loved going out in the canoe and kayak and also enjoyed visiting the quaint and charming town of Saluda. The house itself isn't "fancy" by any means but it has the perfect touches to make it cozy and inviting and it was clean!! My children enjoyed splashing in the claw foot tub after a day on the lake! I should add, the house isn't very large but we slept very comfortably with our 4 little ones. We chose not to use the pull out couch and brought along an air mattress which easily fit in one of the bedrooms along with a pack n' play too. The wrap around deck leading the the rear entrance was great for soggy kids going in and out. I also LOVED having a washer/dryer. With our crew laundry builds up fast so that was a huge perk. Lastly, we were pleasantly surprised to find a place that also allowed for our little pup to join in on the fun! We even took him out on the lake!:) Couldn't recommend this beautiful place enough. Thanks Nate and Laura for being so accommodating and making our mini vacation so memorable!
