We designed and built our ideal lake house chateau home and with two other partners and their families so we could enjoy one of the most pristine lake/golf amenity communities in the Southeast with the use of 6 additional golf communities.
Its unique design allows two families to live separate from each other or spend as much or as little time together. Our location was chosen to be central to all the amenities and yet closer to activities outside the community.
Great House! My husband and I rented it with his brother and wife and with our children and grandchild, it made a group of 10. Everyone had their own space with all the bedrooms and baths in this house. We could all sit and eat together in the main level. Loved the concept of the two houses in one. Owner was wonderful to work with. He always replied to emails quick or you could reach him by phone anytime. You also get to bring your fur babies with you. We would definitely stay here again.
For several years our family has spent Thanksgiving week at lake houses on Keowee or Hartwell. All 16 of us agreed this house was the best house yet for our family holiday. The house and the surroundings are so peaceful and relaxing. Great place for getting away and enjoying quality family time together.
The home is very roomy, and the beds in the six bedrooms were very comfortable. It was nice a quiet and the screened in porch was a great place to gather,visit and play games.
Kitchen ware was substandard for a vacation rental - no lids for the skillets, and some items should be replaced. The linen in some of the bathrooms should also be replaced. Some were worn and stained. This didn't keep us from having a good time at the house, but we did have to make a 30 minute one-way trip (60 minutes) round trip to Pickens to pick up more toilet paper as there was only one roll per bathroom and with 10 people at any one point at the house, that was unacceptable. Also had to buy batteries to set the temperature, because the thermostat controls were not responding.
It wouldn't hurt to have a professional cleaning crew come in at the beginning of the rental season, or even twice a year to clean the windows, carpeting and ovens.
The owner was always very helpful and answered all emails quickly and called us to say we could stay as long as needed our last day since they didn't have renters coming in that day.
The property is a 45 minute drive one way to Clemson University, and as stated earlier, 30 minutes one way to the nearest grocery store.
We were not able to take advantage of the amenities, such as eating in the restaurant on the property, golfing, etc., that the subdivision had to offer as we were busy with graduation and a wedding in Clemson, but the owner was gracious in offering to call for us if we were so inclined.
In counting the three roll-a-ways, one queen pull-out, one queen bed and five king beds, the place sleeps a max of 17 unless people sleep on the leather sofas in both living rooms.
We had a great time at this house, we would definitely go back!
Loved the house. Great floor plan for large family. The only problem was that the house was dirty. We had to clean for two days. The vacuum cleaner didn't work. Some of the sheets were dirty. There was a dirty bowl under a chair and the dining room table was about to fall down. The downstairs smelled like a litter box. We have tried to contact the owner on four different occasions and he has not responded.

The home is naturally divided so it can be rented as two separate units, each with its own separate kitchen, dining, living room, bed rooms, baths and laundry rooms. The floors are connected by a lockout between floors. The home is only rented to one party at a time regardless of whether you rent the whole house or just partial. If your party is 8 or less call about special rates.ADD $50/
If prior to 60 days of occupancy $500, balance 60 days prior to arrival, personal check accepted.
Less than 60 days prior to arrival, total amount due by cashiers check or money order
There is a $75 damage waiver fee that covers up to $500 in accidental damages
