Our Stay at Gem in the Desert

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for three weeks in March of 2013 and liked it so much we came back this year (2014) and stayed for three months, we enjoyed watching the bunny's and birds in the yard every day, our walks in Bull Dog Canyon and the friendly neighbor with the very large parrot that said hello to us almost every time we went by.

The house is neat and clean.

The house is just far enough out of town to be away from all the traffic but close enough to get to the grocery store and other stores in just a few minutes.

Julie and here family are very nice and we enjoyed getting to know them.

A real Gem in the desert

  • 5 of 5

WE ARE SO GLAD WE HAD THE EXPERIENCE OF STAYING IN THIS PLACE. It was WONDERFUL. A great view of the mountains, quiet and beautiful. We had wildlife in the yard, hiking the forest just a couple blocks away and the host and hostess are just great people. We would not ever hesitate to stay here again if we were ever to have the chance. Bob and Pat

A Perfect Vacation

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at this property for 7 nights. We could not have had a better home to stay in than this Gem in the Desert. The nights were beautiful, quiet and peaceful. The home was lovely and provided us a complete home-away from home atmosphere. Julie and her son were wonderful to work with and eveything was pleasantly perfect. The home was extremely comfortable and the scenery was amazing. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a get-away.

We stayed at Julie's home in Apache Junction for the months of November and December. We found it to be just what we were looking for. Apache Junction has all the businesses and activities you would want for a winter destination. Julie's home was just far enough away from the hustle and bustle (only about 4 miles). The daytime view was awesome with all the mountains in clear view. At night, because you are a bit higher that the city, you can see all the twinkling nighttime lights. It had everything we needed. We enjoyed grilling dinner on the patio. Parking was definitely not an issue as there was a large driveway. The bed was comfortable. My husband underwent a bilateral hip replacement in November down there and needed a recliner to sleep in comfortably. Julie went out of her way to make sure we had one. The kitchen was well supplied and has much storage area. The bedroom has a nice walk-in closet. We enjoyed watching the wildlife right outside our window. If we can, we would love to come back another time.
