Having a great day on the water!
Michele & Alex purchased this condo in 1998
Location! Our condo is on the Ocean with wonderful sunsets. And, within a seven minute walk to the village of Kailua-Kona.
We have our condo set up as our home away from home.
We love relaxing to the sound of the waves breaking in front of our condo.

Great condo value in a beautiful location!
Alex and Michelle's Kona Reef condo was a great place to stay while visiting Kona. The second floor unit has an amazing view from the lanai. A great place to watch surfers out in the water and sunsets over the water. The condo is in a great location within easy walking distance to the heart of Kona right on ali'i Drive. It was the perfect place to stay and a great value too! They have all the essentials that you need for the beach including mats, towels, chairs, umbrellas and even snorkel gear. Alex was very helpful in answering any questions that we had about the area. I wouldn't hesitate recommending this condo to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Kona. More...

My wife and I stayed at Alex and Michelle Duncan’s condo in Kona at Kona Reef from July 15, 2016 to July 23, 2016. The condo was perfect. It was clean, it had everything one would need on a vacation and we wanted for nothing. The view from the 2nd. Level lanai is heavenly. The pool, hot tub and covered gas grills are all conveniently located to the condo unit. Access was very good, we only had six – (6) steps up or down from the parking lot / garage area.
The condo unit is centrally located within walking distance of downtown Kona. The farmer’s market has lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. We typically walked downtown a couple times per day. There are nice gift and souvenir shops, and the walk along the sea wall is just breath taking. There are plenty of nice restaurants if you don’t want to cook. We enjoyed Lava Java, Bongo Ben’s, Bubba Gump’s, ands Outback restaurants. All were reasonably priced, clean and the food was good.
All the tenants were quiet and the entire stay was wonderful. Alex has a notebook with all the best eating places, their menus, and directions on how to get there. In addition, there is information about the locations of grocery stores, pharmacies, gas stations, medical facilities, etc.
We highly recommend this condo unit at Kona Reef to anyone wanting to experience a little taste of paradise.
We recently stayed here for our honeymoon and everything about this place was amazing! A great location, inviting furniture, a very comfortable bed, a nice-sized kitchen, bright living space and a stunning lanai with breathtaking views. Alex and Michele have thought of everything to make this place feel like a home away from home, with all of the extras that you wouldn't even think of for a vacation (the cooler and ice pack was a perfect addition!)! They have even included travel guides, hiking guidebooks, and tons of activities brochures so you can plan your vacation right from the comfort of the lanai. We loved that the condo is walking distance to the restaurants and busy boardwalk of Kona, while still being far enough away to not have to deal with constant traffic or noise. The common areas are well maintained, too: the pool area is nice and it seemed that they even cleaned the grills every day. Alex is a super nice guy and called to make sure all was going well. He even made some fantastic recommendations about where to shop for souvenirs, groceries and Mai Tais! I have already recommended this place to several people and will continue to do so. We will certainly be returning to the Big Island, and when we do, we will definitely want to stay here again!
This condo was in a great location just off the busy section of Kona town. It was a pleasant short walk to the busy south end of town with a great selection of restaurants. The lanai had a beautiful, unobstructed view of the ocean. You could see the boogie boarders at Honl's beach from the lanai as well.
The pool area was very well maintained and had plenty of nice grills and lounge furniture.
The condo was very clean, well stocked and had nice furnishings. There were beach towels and chairs, snorkeling equipment with flippers, ice chest, a decent coffee maker and blender. The parking lot was busy but the garage always had open spots. I
The AC worked very well in the living room, but opening the doors cooled the bedroom more effectively.
Alex was very friendly and called to make sure there were no open questions or concerns.
We really had a great stay and would return. I
great room, the view was fantastic. The room had all the amenities that you would need. We would stay here again.
This was my second stay in the Duncan property. That's my first comment, I wanted to come back! As hard as it was to top my prior experience, they did. They had updated and improved the kitchen and bathroom, plus the sliding glass door to the lanai. As before, every interaction with them was prompt and professional. This recent visit there, won't be my last.
The condo has just been remodeled wiith highend fixures, counter tops and bathroom. The view is quite lovely with the ocean just outside your veranda and the sound of the ocean always present helping one to relax and enjoy the island. The owner, Alex is alway available to answer ones questions. The location of the property is a short five minute walk into Kailua Kona which is a wonderful little beach front town with excellent restaurants and the pier in town is world famous for the "Ironman World Championship" triathlon races each October. Great fun!
