We recently stayed in this home and had a wonderful time!! The pictures do not do it justice. The house has a welcoming open floor plan with seemingly brand new appliances. It is meticulously maintained and the owner, Bob, was a joy to work with. The home is located at the end of a cul-de-sac for lots of privacy and gorgeous views. The lake water is deep and clean, which makes it a perfect spot for floating, swimming, and boating! Bob was very accommodating as we had some coworkers over 1 day for an outdoor BBQ. The huge downward sloping lawn to the lake was perfect for entertaining. Everyone loved the home AND the surroundings! If you are looking for a great getaway, this is the place to stay! Highly recommended!!
After visiting the property the week before, we found many items which required our personal attention:
Many light switches did not function, but after replacing 6 light bulbs we still had quite a few non-functional lights.
All beds only had a rather heavy spread and a sheet. We brought our own blankets to give more choices. One bedroom had only one bed which was smaller than a full regular and would not work for two adults. The third bedroom was actually a den, but the single cot-like worked well for one child. The master bedroom did not have a king bed, but it worked well for my wife and me.
Just one thermostat controlled all rooms in the building. It was a bit below freezing during the first several days of our stay and we found the portable heaters we brought very desirable.
The kitchen was well furnished and we used it daily- very nice, but the ice dispenser needed attention.
Firewood was not furnished and luckily we found a great, (but expensive) source on Hwy 400 @ 2 miles south of the shopping areas.
The grill functioned properly but was badly in need of cleaning.
We were happy that we had brought our own TP, fire starters, a few extra pillows, and found the clothes washer booklet to solve a problem.
The living room sofa bed was a bit sad and we had to scrounge linens and blankets when we opened it at 12:00 pm the first night.
Most of the closets contained clothing of the owners and old wire hangers for our clothing. The fireplace screen was completely shot.
With a good bit or personal and loving care, this property could be made into a fairly nice vacation home. They do have nice lake access.
Very nice getaway!
We had a lovely time at this comfortable home. The view was wonderful and the host was very gracious. My only problem was that we traveled with an elderly woman and the home is really not handicap accessible. There are two steps down into the kitchen and there is no railing to hold onto. Small thing I know, but it was worrisome. Otherwise, it was a lovely weekend with family and conveniently located near stores and restaurants.
PHENOMENAL PRIVATE RETREAT - A HIDDEN GEM
This home is everything anyone could want from a vacation rental ! Located in a small quiet upscale neighborhood, it truly offers the best of both worlds, privacy and conveniences that anyone could need. The grounds are private and lush- very well maintained. It is obvious that the owner put much thought, time and effort into landscaping and gardening. Rose garden was in bloom as well as magnolias and other flowering shrubbery, it was just beautiful. The view to the lake is breath-taking and access was easy . We swam and sunbathed right off the dock. The home is beautiful and had everything we needed, many upgrades including a fabulous open kitchen with extra bar/seating. We spent most of our time on the uncovered wrap around deck where there is intimate seating space as well as room for all to dine and grill. Bobby, the owner- made our trip easy and fun !!
Our family was looking for an affordable vacation close to home while being able to enjoy the lake. This home was perfect. We enjoyed morning coffee on the back deck with a great view of the lake and then the days activities on the lake. Nice walk to the dock. We entertained a few friends and family through the week and never felt cramped in the house. The owner was an extreme pleasure to work with and we are already planning our next visit to this great place.
LOVELY LAKE PROPERTY
My wife and I had a wonderful vacation at your lovely home.. The facilities were great and the location was excellent. Having morning coffee on the porch and just relaxing is what vacations are all about.. I would recommend this home to anyone interested in the perfect lake house to rent.. The owner, Bob was easy to work with and very accommodative.
Lake, boating. swimming, fishing, white water rafting music, festivals, mountains, outlet stores, theaters, restaurants, golfing, and more!!
