Why Gary Mohilner chose Incline Village
We fell in love with the charm, location and beautiful surroundings of Incline Village, and only fell deeper when we discovered this Swiss-style mountain community (still within minutes of the lake).
What makes this Chalet unique
Where to begin... We can pop over to Diamond Peak and ski whenever we like. We can run down to the Hyatt for dinner, shows and gambling. We have access to a large, fairly new private Recreation Center, where we use the frequent the gym and pool. We also have access to a lakeside pool and two beaches that are only accessible to Incline residents (and renters). We have easy access to some of the most beautiful locations around the lake, and getting to Truckee, Reno and Carson City is easy when we need to. There are many other benefits, depending on your interests and preferences. Just ask us and I'm sure we can help point the way.

Good value for a property in Incline
This is a solid property near the ski slopes in Incline. Check in process and communication with the owner was ideal. The property is pet friendly. The kitchen is nice and has what one needs to prepare meals. The common space is adequate for a small group or for a short stay. The house is a bit run down and definitely in need of some TLC - the beds were not particularly comfortable and a few things were broken; as a simple example, numerous light bulbs were burned out and the cleaning crew did a spotty job at best. None of the issues with the house were a big deal and the price of this place is lower than most in Incline, but this is "lower end" than many properties in North Tahoe. If you're looking for a modestly priced place in Incline, this is a solid value and I'd recommend it. If you're expecting nice amenties in a well kept place, you should look elsewhere.
Comfortable and fun!! Just poor WiFi.
Wonderful property. We had a great experience and look forward to rebooking. Loved the wrap around deck. We spent all of our time outside! Highly recommend this property !
This place is unsafe and dangerous
Stayed at this place over the 4th of July weekend. From the moment we walked in. this place was a disaster that was unsafe for my family. First, the railings on the deck are out of code and pose a risk to children. There were large portions of the deck railing that were missing or broken.
Secondly, the windows have no screens! This is terribly unsafe and then it didn't allow us to keep the windows open to air out the place.
The place was filthy. Would never stay here again and would encourage others to think twice. The owners response to complaints was disappointing and it's clear he hasn't been onsite at the property to truly understand the unsafe conditions. Very disappointing in the listing, the owner and VRBOs response as well.
I regret the deck rails not being repaired, they have been, but the photos of the house clearly showed that they've not been rebuilt to new codes which didn't apply when the house was built. As to the other criticism's, I welcome people to look at others and determine if they find similar criticism, I won't say I've had no complaints, but they are few, and I try my best to take care of them.
As to the fact that I haven't been there as much as I'd like, it's true, but it's due to health and I can hardly apologize for that. I hope to be up later this Summer. All who come to my chalet are provided with the name of my cleaning and maintenance people, if they're contacted I'll happily pay for any reasonable additional services that are needed. I would have much preferred a complaint on arrival and the opportunity to set it right.
My maintenance people have been authorized to fix anything that has been noted to be wrong. I rely on them to do it, but I also know it's not like being there routinely, which I had prior to health problems. If I were informed of shortcoming on arrival, I would have done all I could to make them right, but learning of problems when, or after people leave only permits me to fix them after the fact.
I was sorry to hear of the shortcomings just before they were about to leave, but when I did I notified my maintenance people to fix everything possible before the next renter, who seemed to be very happy when we spoke after his arrival. I don't know what more I could have done in this situation.
I believe the remodel we did on the inside of our house a few years ago has greatly improved the desirability of our chalet. The decks and stairs outside have been heavily reinforced, they've been painted just last year, but they've not been brought up to current codes, which is seen in the photos of the exterior of the home. At this time, I cannot say that I intend to rebuild the decks and railings at any time in the future as the cost would be rather prohibitive.
Beware of stairs - pics don't show what's there
I really wanted to like the place but, in the end, there were just too many issues that couldn't be overlooked
-Great location. Quiet and convenient. One of the nicest neighborhoods in Incline, IMO.
-Gary, the owner, was available, communicated well and was accommodating
- Fairly well-stocked kitchen for cooking
- Great 2+ person jacuzzi tub
- Allows pets
- LOTS of stairs from the street to the front door, 2+ stories of narrow, steep and somewhat uneven steps
-The worlds most uncomfortable beds. My wife and I did not get one good night of sleep and neither did our son on the bunk bed.
- The TV and entertainment system did not work at all. We knew they were converting to a new system and were told twice that the local maintenance person would be there to install the new system. He never did show up.
-The front door combo lock was broken. The outside is in need of a paint job and some of the inside furnishings are dated and need to be replaced (mattresses and loft sofa).
We will not return, even though we were offered a discounted future stay due to the TV system inconvenience.
I very much regretted the TV issue, but I did explain that I was in the process of changing the TV's before they arrived. While I tried to get it done prior to their arrival, the equipment needed wasn't delivered so my maintenance people couldn't do anything.
Instead of adapting all the sets there, I'm replacing all of them with new, larger TV's that utilize Roku to stream virtually all sorts of things available on the net, as well as having the full Spectrum package.
I realize our chalet has a lot of steps, they're shown in the pictures, but once you're inside I believe you'll find it very well equipped and comfortable. We did spend substantial funds last Summer to strengthen the decks and railings, but there is no denying that we have them, as do many of the homes in our area.
We spent 10 days here and had a very relaxing vacation. The spa tub for 2 is awesome and the house is walking distance to Diamond Peak, where we went skiing most days.
Close to casinos (Regency Hyatt Hotel & Casino nearby), access to 2 private beaches, lakeside swimming pool
