Not what we were expecting.....

  • 2 of 5

The cabin pictures we're beautiful and there were a few positives, but shockingly many negatives!

The drive up was very steep, the driveway was too steep to park many cars and the whole cabin needed a major deep clean. The cleaners obviously don't have enough time to clean properly between guests. There was thick grease on kitchen stove and microwave, kitchen window was disgustingly dirty, kitchen cupboards had dirt down them, kitchen trashcan needs scrubbed out badly, dead bugs on windowsills and all windows filthy, and spills down side of loft bedroom nightstand. The loft bedroom bed needs replaced. Uncomfortably hard as rocks and hurt my mom's neck and back all week with little sleep. Dirt under beds is gross. The lamp on loft nightstand didn't work, shower handle in lower level bathroom fell off, toilet paper holder was loose and kept moving there, too. Dried up stains on lower level bedroom comforter. MAJOR COMPLAINT is the bedroom and master bath window blinds. They are completely see through. You can see out and everyone can see in. There are cabins close by who can watch your every move. No privacy whatsoever! Had to be very careful. Unacceptable! There needs to be a handrail installed on stairs going up to loft. Very dangerous for the elderly. Someone could easily slip with uncarpeted stairs. When working in kitchen, the sun would blind you. Needed sunglasses. Some type of shade needs to be placed. The refrigerator stopped working and ruined some of our food. Kelli was very understanding and sent a new one the next day. They brought us a pie for Thanksgiving and had a beautiful Christmas tree in lower level. Nice touch! The hot tub was very relaxing and the views were beautiful! Kelli was very kind in helping me with a package delivery that I was expecting. Thank you! The cabin could be a nice place to stay if the above regrets are addressed. I would suggest a deep clean 3 times a year to address all the cleanliness issues that are let go for far too long between guests. The replacing of things needed ( loft bed and window blinds) maintenance issues, and deep cleaning would make this an enjoyable stay. Not much can be done for the driveway and steep mountain climb. The cabin cost too much for a weeks stay to have these issues and regrettably wasn't our best accomodations. Please think about your future guests when cutting corners on the cleaning crew or maintenance team. They need time to do their jobs or add people to their crews.

Enjoyable Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was beautiful, spacious and VERY clean! Peaceful and private environment with a beautiful view. Fully equipped kitchen. Bathrooms were spacious and provided sufficient towels. TV's in every bedroom, living room, game room. The two king beds were very comfortable.

The 3rd bedroom upstairs did NOT have a king bed as published on description; instead it was a Queen size, not as comfortable because the mattress sits on a bed frame that is about 1/2 " and if you sit on the corner of the mattress it sinks down. The sofa sleeper in the living room needs to be replaced, we could not use it, had to take that mattress and place it on top of other sleeper sofa in the game room and that worked out fine. Other than that it was a real pleasure staying at this cabin and we would definitely recommend it to family and friends and are planning to return in the future.

Laurel Point

  • 5 of 5

Stayed for 4 nights. Perfect location with a beautiful view, easy to reach and close to NP. Very luxurious mountain home with a bathroom for every room (3), pool table, TVs, hot tub, nice gas grill. Wifi worked for streaming movies (12 mbps). The kitchen is well-equipped with cooking utensils and tableware. Old Mill Lodging management was very friendly and responsive, the house was very clean and the neighborhood quiet, with surrounding properties about 150 feet away with trees in between. Would go there again!

Laurel Point

We stayed at laurel point.Great place to stay the drive to laurel point was nice compared to others cabins high up in the mountain so steep you dont want to come back down. Check in was easy the alarm was in the main floor bedroom off the kitchen the house was very clean sitting on the porch watching the sunset behind the mountain was priceless we had a three couple retreat everyone had there own space the kitchen was stock with more than enough pots and utensil they even had a crockpot lol we played pool, board games and went to smokey mountain distillery and to gatlinburg. The beds were very comfortable there were 2 king rooms and 1 queen it was really home away from home we bought food from home in a cooler not knowing down the street is a kroger and about 5 min is walmart now we know we dont have to bring anyting everything else. The only downside was the WiFi we had 6 people on laptops, cell phones, tablets, and ipads NO SIGNAL we are looking forward to next year its worth it you wont want to leave

peaceful family trip

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was beautiful, it had everything that we needed. Short distance to all attractions that we wanted to do. Must do activities Old Mill Restaurant, Dolly Wood, Dixie Stampede, go to The island for some shopping. My husband and boys always to to the knife works. I recommend wild bear water resort if you have younger children. Country splash is a blast. Even if you didn't want to go out there is a pool table a hot tub on the back deck. My family loves to go to Pigeon Forge we will be back again. I have recommended this to my family members.

Fun in the Mountains

  • 5 of 5

We really loved Laurel Point! My husband and I stayed with our two children on the lower floor, my in-laws on the main floor, and my mother on the top floor. Everyone had their own space which was really nice. It was so peaceful there! It is a part of Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge that is free of traffic! We went for the SEAA World Series and had an amazing experience!! We have already talked about returning and staying at Laurel Point!
