Located in a quiet residential area. It's a 10 minutes walk to the free ferry (runs 24 hours a day) which takes you in a couple of minutes straight to the Central station right in the middle of the city. From here all the major attractions of Amsterdam like the Anne Frank House, van Gogh museum etc. are easy to reach by bus or tram. The best way is however to rent bikes to move around like the locals.

Lovely property, great location.

Great location, just a few minutes to the ferry and then you are in Central Amsterdam. Quiet area and very reasonably priced. Clean and tidy. Overall it’s very good.

Wonderful stay - we are definitely hoping to stay here again.

My husband, son, and I recently stayed on this houseboat and everything about it was wonderful. The houseboat is as described - It is clean and airy with plenty of room to relax. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. It had everything one could want and was well equipped for just relaxing or eating at home.

Having never been to Amsterdam, we were a little nervous about not being right in the Centre, but as described, this was not an issue. The ferry was a short walk from the houseboat and ran constantly. It was great being so close to all of the action, but also a short walk away so that we could just sit out and relax at night.

The neighborhood is great and there are wonderful restaurants close by.

Sander was great to work with, as was the woman (I can't remember her name) who met us at the houseboat upon our arrival. All in all, everything was wonderful and I have absolutely no reservations recommending this houseboat and will definitely book this again, should we be fortunate enough to have a return trip to Amsterdam.

One caveat - not related to the houseboat but to Amsterdam generally for those making a first time trip. Cabs are very expensive.... I would definitely plan to take the train from the airport and then take the ferry across. Having never been in Amsterdam, and not really sure of the layout, etc., we opted for a cab upon our arrival. We were unprepared for the cost. Going back, we took the ferry!

The houseboat but was just what we were looking for. It was clean, well supplied, and quiet.

Even though the houseboat is located in the Noord section of Amsterdam and we had to take a free walking fairy into the main area of Amsterdam it was just as I had hoped for and more. Very happy to have stayed in a less crowded and quieter area then in the main busy city area. The walk of less then 10 minutes to the short free walking fairy that was easy and frequent was well worth staying at this houseboat. The person was prompt to meet us and let us in and it was very clean, well supplied and comfortable. Much better than a hotel! Great experience!

Unique experience staying on a houseboat, the true Amsterdam way.

  • 5 of 5

We arrived earlier than expected. Sander was very accommodating in meeting us, allowing us to get settled sooner. The houseboat was clean, on a quiet canal. It was supplied with everything we need. Since we had a car, we had to take quite a long way to receive a better car park price. This is inconvenient for those with vehicles. It was easy to take the ferry to City Center for the sightseeing we did. We walked to a market not far from houseboat for our shopping. We enjoyed our stay on the houseboat & would do this again. The narrow winding stairway to bedrooms & bathroom would not work for many. We left our bigger luggage upstairs. Thank you Sander & family for sharing your houseboat with us.

Great property to enjoy the city center, but a quiet place to sleep

  • 5 of 5

This was a great property. Sander was great to deal with. He met us at the designated time and went over everything. He even included some places in the area to eat, things to do.

It was about a 10 to 15 min walk to the ferry (free ferry) to the central train station in the city center.

Everything was as described,great stay.

Thanks Sander
