About the property

Waterfront Home with 3.5 Acres, 4 Bedrooms, 4 Baths (Sleeps 10)

Whether you are planning a quiet, relaxing vacation or an active getaway that includes water sports and numerous other outdoor activities, you will have the best of both worlds with this modern, spacious home that includes many desired amenities.

This property is located adjacent to St. Michaels, a picturesque harbor town on Maryland's Eastern Shore that was named one of the top 10 best small coastal towns in America by USA Today. This private, waterfront home has four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. It boasts all the amenities you would expect from a luxury hotel and more, including high quality linens and towels, a gourmet kitchen with multiple refrigerators for convenient entertaining, a dining room that seats 10, a living room with a wood burning fireplace, an enclosed porch, a screened in deck with a hot tub and warming hut, premium cable from May through November, two washer and dryers, Wi-Fi and a Graco Pack n Play.

Unwind by curling up with a good book on the enclosed porch, spend time watching the abundant birds and wildlife in the back yard using the wild bird spotting scope, or enjoy the views from the hot tub located on the screened in deck with an adjacent private warming hut. Take a quiet walk in the wildlife sanctuary just minutes from the house or take advantage of the available bikes for a ride on one of the many area bike trails. Spend time enjoying the view on the ferry to Oxford to watch a spectacular sunset.

For those early morning risers, a cup of coffee and a beautiful sunrise viewed from the dock is the start of a beautiful day. If a nap is in order, you can lounge in the LLBean hammock and let the soft summer breeze and sounds of the water lapping at the water’s edge lull you to sleep.

For the sports enthusiasts we have a boat slip for sailing, with a boat ramp less than a mile from our home. You can rent or bring your own boat to set sail on the Chesapeake. Run your toes through the sand on the small beach area where you can easily launch the two available kayaks and challenge your opponent to a race. Grab the fishing poles and crab traps to use off the dock, so you can bring home the freshest fish/crab dinner you’ve ever had along with bragging rights. Take a spin on one of the (4) adult bikes and (1) child's bike on the many biking trails or in the wildlife sanctuaries. Head to Tilghman Island, a 15 minute drive, where you can rent water skis, pontoon boats, sailboats and paddle boards. Take advantage of the many premier public golf courses in the area. As the sun sets on another perfect day on the Eastern Shore, you can play a game of volleyball followed by a splash in the hot tub.

If you desire a night on the town, St. Michaels is a short 10 minute drive. Dine on the water at the Crab Claw or Town Dock restaurants or visit the St. Michaels Winery & Brewery. In the summer, enjoy concerts at the Chesapeake Maritime Museum and visit the many shops and arts & crafts exhibits. In December, enjoy “Christmas in St. Michaels”. Football fans can enjoy Navy football with Annapolis an hour away.

We would be more than happy to help organize your trip to ensure that you have an unforgettable stay. We’ve been on VRBO for more than five years and have numerous five star reviews. We are committed to ensuring that you have a great stay!

The main body of water is the Chesapeake Bay. Major tributaries off the Choptank River are Broad Creek, the Miles River and Leadenham Creek. All have very safe waters for power craft with 3 feet or less of draft. Waterways run from 5 to 20 feet of depth. There is great crabbing and fishing in these waters.

Like staying in a 5-star hotel, but better

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here in April 2017 with two families (four adults, four kids) and it was exactly as described, if not better. The house is spotless, well appointed and designed so everything is oriented to the wonderful water view. The master bedroom suite has a gorgeous view, gas fireplace, deep jacuzzi tub and shower with steambath. Need I say more? The hot tub worked great. The house is set back from the road, so it's perfectly quiet. We'd love to go back!

Snug cove is the ideal local for R&R.

The home is well maintained & offers space/amenities for all. Well stocked w/ bikes, crab traps, kyak & a hammock. Just a short drive to town, but a world away.

Thanks Jackie for being so responsive.

This past year we have added many new amenities such as a brand new six person hot tub for those guests who want R&R and for the active guests we now have bikes and a small sandy beach to make launching the kayaks easier, crab traps and fishing poles and a volleyball net. Thank you for choosing our home and it was an absolute pleasure having you and your family stay with us. Needless to say, we would be thrilled to have you stay with us again. Enjoy the upcoming fall holidays and we hope to hear from you soon that you will be back vacationing on the Eastern Shore.

So relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved this house! It was well-stocked with things like paper towels, condiments, and even bait for the crab pots. We took advantage of many extras - volleyball net, crab pots, kayaks, bikes, fishing, etc and everyone ages 1-67 had a blast. The master bedroom upstairs is gorgeous and we all enjoyed the screened in decks as well. We'll definitely stay here again.

Owner's Response: We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your stay, especially since this is your first time to the Eastern Shore, and had a chance to use the volleyball set, crab off the pier, the kayaks, bikes and fishing poles, I sure hope your father in law caught a lot of fish since this is one of his favorite past times. It goes without saying that it would be our absolute pleasure to host you and your family again since you were a delight to work with. Enjoy the remaining days of summer and we look forward to hearing from you again hopefully in the not too distant future.

We (a family of 5 with 3 almost grown up teens) stayed here in August 2017 for 4 nights and had a wonderfully relaxing time. The house itself was very spacious, spotless, well decorated, very comfortable and private (just as good as in the photos). The outside space was amazing; we enjoyed using the kayaks, sitting on the dock admiring the views in such a tranquil setting, lounging in the large hot tub or on the screened porch/verandah. It was an easy drive into St Michaels to eat and browse the shops. We would definitely recommend!

Weekend Retreat

  • 5 of 5

My Son and I needed a break from the hustle and bustle of life, we needed something close to home but wanted it to feel like a vacation spot, this property was absolutely perfect.

The house and property were well kept and had all the amenities that we were looking for.

This house could easily accommodate 2 families, with plenty of bathrooms, 2, washers,2 dryers, 2 ovens and plenty of refrigeration. The master bedroom was beautiful with a very comfortable bed , fireplace, Jacuzzi tub and walk in steam shower, the porch off the master bedroom over looked the grounds and water. Kayaking was great, the hot tub was fabulous it did not have that overwhelming chlorine smell, the water was perfect. The grounds are well maintained. There is a butterfly garden that was so peaceful to watch with plenty of butterflies and hummingbirds. The host Jackie was outstanding! Thank you for a wonderful weekend!

Beautiful property, beautiful location!

  • 5 of 5

Snug Cove is a wonderful property. The home itself is beautiful and extraordinarily equipped. If you think they forgot something, you just haven't found it yet. Right down to the microwave in the laundry room! (Still conveniently located!) The bedrooms are each lovely; the master bedroom and bath are spectacular...and so comfortable! Everything in the home is first class; a lot of care and thought was put into developing this beautiful property.

A lot of happy, lighthearted time was spent in the hot tub, and the gas grill made for great summer dinners.

The kayaks were put to good use, as were the crab traps. The crabs were plentiful...and delicious! Due to our short stay, we didn't use the bikes, although they looked new and very nice.

Even in paradise, there is a wrinkle or two. We would have appreciated a "heads-up" about the jellyfish infestation (an August occurrence?). It limited our ability to take full advantage of the stunning waterfront location. Of less concern, there is a plank in the dock which is deteriorating and need to be replaced. One bare-footed seven year old learned about splinters the hard way.

This is a fantastic property for a family reunion. We were 6 adults and some young kids.

We were busy, happy and had room to spare or find a private moment. We had a great time and look forward to our next trip to the Chesapeake area.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful oasis with us!

Owner's Response: It was an absolute pleasure having you stay at our home for your family reunion and thank you for writing such a wonderful review!!! We can tell that you are a seasoned traveler with an eye for detail and we really appreciate this authentic and thorough review. We are so glad that you found everything you needed to have a great stay and enjoyed the new pillow top mattresses in the bedrooms and the Jacuzzi and steam shower in the master bath. It is also nice to hear that you had fun using the brand new hot tub that we installed on the screened in deck enclosure so our guests can enjoy using the hot tub day or night, season to season and enjoyed using the gas grill for fun summer dinners because you can sure work up an appetite crabbing, kayaking and biking around the area. I am so sorry that the jellyfish interfered with your water activities and will definitely add this information to our rental packet and I genuinely appreciate your letting us know about the plank, I have contacted our property manager and it will be repaired immediately. I am so sorry your seven year old was injured and hope that he is none the worse for wear now. Enjoy the few remaining days of summer and we hope you will consider staying with us again should you decide to vacation on the Eastern Shore.
