Expanded 3 bed cottage offers extra spaces & barefoot walk to the beach
Diane Drive, on the circle, is a special and private spot. Extremely low traveled road offers much tranquility and solitude. Abutting conservation land and quiet marshes, if you want a break from the hecticness of life, this is a great spot for you. Grab your flip flops, or go barefoot if you prefer, and a 1/4 mile away are the quaint bridges over Buck's Creek that bring you to Ridgevale Beach.
There is some surf and splashing around in Nantucket Sound, but also a inlet, and gentler beach as the ocean meets the creek. Those with young children really appreciate this.
The house was expanded with additional rooms and a partial second floor some years back. The house is suitable for year-round living, while maintaining some of the knotty pine and character of a classic "on the Cape" cottage.
Of the three bedrooms, two are on the first floor. One has a queen size bed and the other a full size one. Both bedrooms are comfortably-sized, one in the original part of the house, and the other is in the newer. The third bedroom, which has a full size bed, is accessed by a circular staircase. There is also an additional loft and office area that has a desk and a twin bed. The house has plenty of good natural light, yet the grounds are nicely shaded.
The house is fully applianced, including dishwasher, microwave, washer and dryer. The house also offers WiFi and cable on the two televisions.
There are small patios in the front and back of the house, plus a picnic table, and grill out back. There is also a private outside shower, which can be a real treat while on vacation!
The living room is large and cheery. It comes off the working kitchen, which connects to a dining area and the original living room, which is cozied up with a brick fireplace and mantle.
This second generation family home is a superb get-a-way, whether on your own, as a couple, or with family, affordably priced.

Pleasant, relaxing Fall stay.
Homeowner's closets have everything you may need. Lot's of amenities available. Short walk to beach. Quiet neighborhood. Even saw a Doe and Fawn in the yard. Typical beach cottage atmosphere. We had a pleasant stay. Good Location , close to neighboring towns, and attractions
LaBelle Retreat is a Real Treat!
My boyfriend and I stayed here over Memorial Day weekend with two other couples and we absolutely loved this place! Jan is a lovely woman with a beautiful home that is a barefoot walk to the beach. We arrived Friday afternoon and prior to our arrival, I was able to speak with both Jan and her son about specifics, like the keys, linens, etc. The house has two large bedrooms on the first floor, one has a queen size bed and the other has a full size bed. The second floor (led to by the winding staircase) has another bedroom with a double bed, as well as an office area which has a desk and another twin sized bed. Jan provides blankets and pillows, but you will need to bring linens and pillow cases with you. With 6 adults, we had plenty of room with room to spare as well. The kitchen is fully stocked in terms of pots & pans; however, you will need to bring all food items (including condiments) with you that you plan to use. There is one large bathroom on the first floor and an outdoor shower (which was magical). There is an indoor fireplace and an outdoor fire pit with more than enough wood available. There are two TVs but we did not use them so I can’t say anything about the cable. The other couples used the Wi-fi and said it was great! The house is situated on a very quiet street with a nice, big backyard that overlooks the marsh. We had no bugs, but we were also super lucky; given its proximity to the marsh, I would stock up on some bug spray. It is also a stones’ throw from Ridgevale Beach to which we were able to walk – about a 3-5 minute walk through the neighborhood and over a private bridge. Since it was opening weekend for the Cape with bad weather, we had the beach mostly to ourselves but I can imagine this beach can get pretty packed on a nice day, so I’d try to get a spot early in the day. All-in-all, we all had a great, relaxing weekend on the Cape all thanks to Jan and the LaBelle Retreat!
Dear Danielle, Thank you so much for your review! I am so pleased that you enjoyed your time at my home!
My first full week tenants are coming in today. Chatham has a crowd-drawing parade on the 4th, which I always look forward to attending.
Hope you have a great 4th where ever you are. You and your friends are always welcome at 58 Diane Dr!
I'm going to read your much appreciated review again and then go outside to do a little painting.
