My family and I just spent a week in this lovely house in Easton's Point and couldn't have been happier. There was plenty room for all 8 of us (4 adult siblings and spouses). My husband and I arrived at the house first and we chose the lower level bedroom because it is relatively secluded, like a private apartment, with a large bedroom, cozy living room with a large flat screen TV (important for my husband), and bathroom. It was very clean and all linens and towels were prepared for us just like a hotel.
The sunsets from the deck were so beautiful! We had a nice barbecue and enjoyed the large yard with plenty of outdoor tables and chairs.
The house is conveniently located to Newport and to the beaches and we were able to see all of the sights. If we come to Newport again, we would definitely want to stay at this house again! We give it 5 stars!
The only thing missing was a hot tub. Either way we will be back to visit for sure!!
We stayed for the Winterfest in Newport and the house was perfectly located with a wonderful deck! You can hear the ocean at night! Would highly recommend, tons of space, great beds, great kitchen, great communication, pets allowed and the best location near the beach!
Cottage is clean and tidy. Don’t think the pictures do it justice. 3 bedrooms upstairs and essentially a separate apartment in the basement. Living room/kitchen area is not huge, but we were there in January and couldn’t utilize the large porch which you can see the ocean from. About a 15 minute walk from beach. 5-10 minute drive from downtown Newport. Owner was very responsive and helpful.
House was very clean with very comfortable beds in all four bedrooms. Even the futon provided a good night’s sleep. Location is in a nice quiet neighborhood. It is an easy and quick drive to the mansions and other attractions in Newport. The house was well- equipped; we had everything we needed except for some extra blankets which would have been nice for our late November stay.
The rating is 4 stars instead of 5 due to a few issues. Booking the property was easy - Laura was very responsive and answered questions quickly and in detail. On check-in day, I made 3 calls (leaving 2 messages) before finally reaching Laura around 4:20 so she could text me the instructions. Check-in was advertised to be at 4 PM. It was stressful to not be able to get in contact with Laura and get the check-in instructions in a timely manner.
Also, the lock on the door was sensitive and difficult to work. I finally got it open, but needed to call Laura to get assistance when locking the door the first time we left the house.
It would be helpful to have detailed instructions about not only the operation of the lock, but also how to operate the “Nest” system to control the heat. We had to goggle it to be find out how to change the system to heat and adjust the temperature. Information about nearby grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants, etc, would also be helpful.
Overall, this house met our needs, but the uncertainty surrounding check-in and the issues concerning operations of the locks caused some unneeded stress in an otherwise wonderful trip to Newport.
It's so much bigger than I'd imagined! Fireplace was a nice surprise. Everything in the house is first class and a reflection of how thoughtful the owner is. She provides what she must like to use--quality cookware, quality silverware, comfortable beds, plush towels, and even Meyer's dish soap.
Exactly as advertised. Convenient location. Great use of space. Would stay again.
