About Cande'

We love the Smoky's, Hiking, Nature, The beauty of the Mountains.

Cande' purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Cande' chose Tennessee

In 2006 we built this cabin in the Smoky's after many years of visiting the surrounding area. We hand selected this lot because of it's Fanatic View! Panoramic sitting high on the mountain. It's great location to everything, Shopping, Hiking, Great Smoky Mountains, Dinner Shows. You could be there for a week and do something different and new every day.

What makes this cabin unique

This 3 story cabin is truly 'a log cabin', real 'D' logs, No paint, no carpet, no sheet rock, all wood, floors, ceilings, walls. very homey, beautiful and nice! The pictures of both the cabin and the views do not do it justice. This cabin like most is on a well. The difference between the others and our's is we have invested a considerable amount of money to have the best water available. Our water is treated just as city water is. The result of which is perfect water, We also have installed reverse osmosis for both the ice maker, and a faucet at kitchen sink for wonderfully delicious drinking water. Well water problems are not an issue at Red Hot & Rockin.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you for the quick response. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend at Red Hot and Rockin. The views are majestic with a sweeping scene that changes throughout the day. Both sunrises and sunsets from the hot tub made for a memorable stay and perfect viewing position. The house also offered those great views from just about every room. We enjoyed the wildlife views as well. Had about 2 dozen wild turkeys pass by each morning. The house was very comfortable and inviting. It made leaving the house even for a trip to the Smokies a decision to ponder. Thanks again.

Tranquillity!

  • 4 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation at the cabin. Well appointed, beautiful surroundings with fantastic views, a delightful swing, a relaxing rocker, a sleep-inducing hammock, and a marvelous hot tub, all made the stay very pleasant. Clean and well maintained, Candé even had the place decorated for Christmas!

The description and pictures reflect the cabin accurately. Candé's responses to our queries (around the time of the Dec fires in that area) were prompt and helpful. We never had to contact her while we were there--that says much for the state of the rental.

We didn’t find the drive up the hill to be a problem. Of course, we arrived before sundown, and left the cabin only one other time.

Couple of things to consider: the upstairs suite has large windows facing ESE, windows that have no drapes or blinds (should be an easy fix). Come sunup, the one sleeping there had to use an eyemask, for the morning sun was right in his eyes. And, of course, he (and the rest of us) wanted to sleep in late.

As noted, we were there for Christmas, but we couldn’t find a means to play our own Christmas music. The CD player wasn’t working—it had tiny speakers anyway. We did hook our iPhones to play through the TV, but its even tinier speakers with their tinny sound wasn’t very enjoyable. Again, this should be an easy fix—a reasonably priced audio system with detachable speakers would be a great improvement.

Overall, a great place for a snug and reposeful break.

Owner's Response: We appreciate the nice write up and the suggestions. Many things sound easy in theory not so much in practice. A-frame structures rarely have drapes/blinds in the A-frame section, ours is no different for a variety of reasons, 1) the view and natural light that comes in through those windows. 2) the fix of adding blinds, not too difficult the ease of cleaning and maintaining a whole lot more difficult. Opening and closing them would be a problem as well unless you had remote control capability. So if you are one sensitive to light when you sleep you may want to bring a sleep mask. We were unaware the CD portion of the portable radio/CD player wasn't working. With the age of technology in which we live it is virtually a dinosaur anyway so we will be removing it. Several music channels to choose from on the TV. We decorate for Christmas mid November each year so those that come for the holidays will feel right at home! No matter the season or the reason you come to the area you will have a fabulous time. Red Hot & Rockin' is a beautifully, well-appointed, real log cabin with million dollar views and a great place to call home while you are away from yours.

Secluded and relaxing cabin

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed five nights at this location. Like the others stated the drive up was intimidating the first time but after a couple of times it was no problem. Great location and the view was spectacular. The property was well cleaned and had everything to make it a comfortable stay. My 5 year old son enjoyed the hot tub the most, which I had no complaints in accompanying him 🙂

Great Vacation Spot

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was very clean and well maintained. The owners always responded quickly whenever we had questions, and they were very nice to deal with. The cabin is located at the top of a private road. The view was spectacular. And it was was so peaceful and relaxing to be there. It was one of the best vacations we ever had. We are definitely looking forward to staying at the cabin again.

Owner's Response: The Smokies is beautiful every season of the year and the view from Red Hot & Rockin' is spectacular! Private drive with a handful of other cabins located along the drive and situated to maximize their view and privacy. Quiet up on the mt top and so peaceful yet only a few minutes to town. A short drive down to eateries, grocery stores, attractions and shopping, a bit further and you are at Dollywood or the national park. Red Hot & Rockin' is perfect for the sight seer or those that just need to rest and relax. We hope to see you soon!

Everything was just perfect!!!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was exactly as described. It was perfect for us and our college girls. The views...oh my, they were awesome!! You will awake to the most beautiful sunrises!!! We arrived after dark and the road up was a bit tricky but after the next time up and down, we were pros at it (lol). It was away from everything yet close to it all as well. Cande' is quick to respond to any questions but she has notes/instructions in the cabin which are just great. The girls kept us on the road but this place would make for a perfect romantic getaway too!! We LOVED it and cannot wait until our next visit!!! Deanna, Phillip, Emily and Aubree

Owner's Response: If you read a few reviews you are sure to hear mention of the private road up to the cabin. We admit for those who aren't used to mountain roads and terrain it can be a bit intimidating but as Deanna and others have said a time or two going up and down and you won't think twice. Great cabin, great location, great area to vacation or spend that special occasion. Don't miss out book soon!
