Welcome at Vila Poem Boem!
In 1927, one of the most famous and talented Romanian architects, Toma Socolescu, built a house as a gift for his beloved wife. He built this house in the name of love, inspired by the genuine Romanian architectural style, a wonderful place named now Villa Poem Boem. We redecorated the property (that suffered massive damages during communism time) and gave back its style and spirit of the period.
The Villa stands at the entrance of Cumpatu, residential area of Sinaia, opposite the Peles Castle domain – former summer residence of the Romanian Royal Family. Outside, you will enjoy the refreshing air of this lovely mountain resort and the peacefully garden with spring water, inside you will feel the warm spirit of romanticism, preserved by the beautiful deco details, antiques and exquisite chandeliers.
The spacious dining and living rooms, the romantic bedrooms and the unique sales du bain, make our guests feel really welcomed and extraordinary well treated. Modern appliances along with carefully selected beds, linen, towels, and cutleries are consistent with the very exclusive travel experience you will enjoy.
Great selection of music, the fireplace, the candle lights, the massage (by appointment – the villa is equipped with a massage bed) or the sauna will make your stay a truly unforgettable one.
Sinaia offers plenty of opportunities throughout the year: skiing or sledging, during winter season, hiking, mountain biking or just relaxing walks throughout the rest of the seasons. Not to be missed is the superb European “ Indian Summer” reflecting countless number of red, yellow and amber nuances in the tree leaves.
Luckily, Villa Poem Boem is located close to one of the most important attractions of the resort: Peles Castle, The Orthodox Monks Monastery and the memorial house of George Enescu, the greatest Romanian composer. Less than one hour drive through the wonderful Carpathian Mountains will take you to the border of Transylvania, at Dracula’s Castle in Bran. And Sinaia is also near the medieval fortress of Rasnov or the beautiful city of Brasov, where you will find unique medieval buildings and the famous Black Church.
Just tell us about your expectations and we will be more than happy to tell you more about what you can do to have a perfect stay in Romania.
Discover our villa, built with love. Elegant and noble, yet discreet.
Ioana & Marius Enache
Ioana and I together with our children Sara and Luca are unhealed dreamers. We live our dreams and share them happily with our friends and guests, following our family's strapline 'We love to share things we love!'. Sinaia, known as 'The Pearl of Carpathians' is a place one cannot forget as it was not accidentally chosen by the former Royal family of Romania for building their summer residence, The Peles Castle and is not accidentally chosen by most of the mountain lovers to spend their weekends or holidays despite so many other offers Romania has. Come and see it for yourself! We are here to share, help and advise.
Ioana and Marius Enache purchased this villa in 2006
I was born in Sinaia and spent most of my wonderful childhood holidays in my grandparents house which we were forced to abandon during the communist regime. I kept a deep desire ever-since of gaining it back. It didn't happen but one day. in 2006 we were offered the chance to buy this lovely property. Without hesitating we bought it and renovated it with love and care in the period style
Spending our weekends and holidays in Sinaia is the nicest part of our life now and every time we leave we have the same powerful feeling of wanting to return very soon. It happens as well with all our guests and this is already certain: You come, you get in love with it! The surroundings, the fresh mountain air, the winter sports, the hiking, the cultural walks & the unique architecture of this fantastic town, the attention to details in all decorations ,the spirit of love this house was built in, the fireplace, the sauna, the tasty mornings coffee, the good music, the herbs garden in summer, the spring water, the stars watching from the back yard in warm evenings...so much to enjoy, you owe it to yourself!
My husband says that this absolutely beautiful villa (inside and outside) looks like something out of a design magazine, but I would say it looks like something out of a fairy tale! We loved staying here! All the rooms are comfortable and wonderfully decorated, and the grounds are lovely, with lots of trees, and little seating areas here and there. The house is extremely well-equipped with all kinds of modern amenities.
The views from the second floor balcony are amazing, as is the area. The place is located a few houses away from the George Enescu house, and the entire area is fabulous. We drove around the area because my husband has a bad knee, but you could spend hours walking around outside and be delighted by all the interesting houses and breath-taking scenery.
Quite sincerely, I don't think I have ever stayed anywhere on a vacation that I enjoyed as much as this place.
I was planning a family holiday with my kids, my parents and my in-laws (....) and it was down to me to organize everything. It was of a top priority for me to find a homey place as it was obvious that we will spend a fair amount of time at the villa. The photos on the website of Poem Boem looked beautiful and very much my taste in terms of decoration etc. I started corresponding with Marius with various enquiries and he was incredibly helpful and kind. When we arrived at the villa we discovered the most beautiful, warm and comfortable home. It ecceeded our expectation by far!! The photos on the site don't do much justice to it as the villa in reality looks a million times better. We had the most wonderful holiday and much of it was because it was so much fun to just hang around the villa for hours on end, drink coffee in the garden, watch films, do a BBQ, play board games and relax. The beds were so comfortable and generally the villa was equipped in such a thoughtful way that it had everything we needed. Before our arrival we were a little concerned about the proximity to the railway as my husband is a very light sleeper but it really wasn't a problem at all because the trains' noise just blends in and we stopped noticing it after one day. Marius has been extremely kind and attentive and attended immediately to every single thing we asked. Well - all in all we loved the villa immensely and would love to come back at some point.
A large older home being restored by the owners. An antique feel with modern appliances and accoutrements. Three BRs and 3 baths all with hand-held showers and a separate 1BR lower-level apartment provides room for a large group. Typical for Europe, the kitchen is compact, well supplied and fully equipped. Oil, spices, tea, coffee are all on hand. On a rural street 2 km from Centro, it is quiet and spacious with good WiFi, great tv with a selection of movies and tons of music for the superb stereo. Nicely decorated in a traditional style.
The house was clean, warm and welcoming. The owners, Marius and Ioana, were responsive, kind and extremely accommodating.
Washer in basement with a drying rack made light travelling easy. A beautiful sauna was a big bonus. Fireplace, but we didn't use it. Online photos and descriptions are accurate. Food in the nearby restaurant was inexpensive and of adequate quality for the price.
The house is on the same street as the river and the railway bed so the regular passing trains are great if you're a railway buff. The sound was noticeable but not a problem. Stray dogs are plentiful in Romania and their night-time barking might annoy light sleepers but no more than busy city noise.
The local monastery and the Peles Castle are wonderful sites and well worth a day to visit. And the gondola trip to the top of the mountain is an interesting side trip.
All in all, Villa Poem Boem was a wonderful experience and we’d highly recommend it.
The owners had warned us, "remember to leave the house". We understood what they said when we arrived at this beautiful villa. Cleanliness, amenities and location were amazing. Make this your stay when exploring this beautiful region of Romania.
Villa Poem Boem, Sinaia, where we stayed in September, was built in the 1930's by its architect for his bride and has been restored and updated by its present owners deftly preserving its romantic origins. In fact, the owners graciously met us there with the key and gave us a tour of the four floors of living space. The building is set against a hillside of conifers and stone staircases giving a vantage to starry nights. We found the house itself to be generously proportioned, clean as a whistle, decorated in rustic elegance, making an ideal hideaway for two or a holiday home for children and adults. The bright, well-appointed and organized kitchen with steel appliances is geared to awaken your inner chef although we chose mostly to dine at nearby restaurants both casual and formal. The local fare of game and delicious desserts is intriguing, strengthening, and unforgettable. We enjoyed the villa's second floor with its ample closets, beautiful bathrooms. and balconies. Close to Peles Castle, where one can stroll, tour, or sit for hours at the outdoor cafe, Poem Boem, while quiet, is a few steps from civilization. The train station is close by but we drove back from Bucharest by car each day thrilled to see the mountains beckoning from the highway. Polite, discreet housekeeping made one feel at home and like never leaving. You'll be grateful to the builder for the exercise the interior stairs afford. I was. My husband and I shall be returning to Poem Boem very soon indeed.
We live in Bucharest, have two children and are mountain-lovers,whatever the season. We are always happy to find blessed places and beautiful people, who are truly generous, regardless if you're staying for a weekend,a whole week,or just one night. That's how Ioana&Marius made us feel,at their "Poem Boem" villa,in Sinaia's Cumpatu neighborhood. There are many things to do in the area, such as mountaineering,high-altitude skiing,ice-skating or visiting the Peles Castle,George Enescu's birth house. The beautiful "Poem Boem" villa brings old Sinaia back to life, with its interior design in accordance with Romanian tradition and history. We wanted to share with you our wonderful experience in this place.
