About Wayne & Kimberly Pitts

The owners, Kim and Wayne, moved to Albuquerque for graduate school at UNM and fell in love with the Southwest. They built the house when their boys, Forrest and Walker, were little. Kim decorated it with furniture, handicrafts and art from their travels throughout Latin America. Wayne's job moved them away from Albuquerque, but they kept the house and hope to return to live there one day. Forrest and Walker also attended UNM. Walker is now in the Army and Forrest is working full-time. The Land of Enchantment has captured our hearts.

Wayne & Kimberly Pitts purchased this house in 2000

Why Wayne & Kimberly Pitts chose Albuquerque

This house is perfectly situated with easy access to I-40. The owners invested in this part of town because they enjoyed the appeal of living in the southwestern quadrant of Albuquerque. The house is close to Old Town and there are a lot of nearby attractions for children including the world-class zoo, the aquarium and biopark, the Children's Museum, and the Museum of Natural History. There are also some fantastic New Mexican restaurants nearby.

What makes this house unique

Because we built the home using a custom builder, we were able to add some special features. From the moment you enter the hand-carved front gate in the courtyard to the carved posts on the pergola on the back patio, you will notice the special details of this house. All of the furnishings have a unique history and many were made by Mexican artisans.

In the fall, the smell of roasted green chile fills the air and the home is perfectly situated to enjoy the sights of the Sandia Mountains. Don't be surpised to see a hot air balloon fly directly over the house.

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

The house was clean and charming, and contained everything we could possibly need. Our sister-in-law from Michigan loved that we'd found a place with a New Mexican vibe. We spent a lot of time in the pleasant backyard. The owners could not have been more prompt or pleasant to communicate with. An all-round great experience!

Absolutely great!

  • 5 of 5

Great place and beautiful. Owners called to ensure arrival and answer questions. I would stay again in the future. We weren't there too much due to attending events, but it was comfortable and lots of patio space.

Best Place to Stay

  • 5 of 5

This place is wonderful. The accommodations are top notch, well maintained, secure, beautiful and easy to get to. Also, close to the freeway, grocery stores and 15-20 minutes to Old Town and Downtown. We will return. Thank you.

The property was simply wonderful. Only thing i would prefer is a queen bed in one of the two bedro

  • 5 of 5

It was easy access to everything we wanted to do. It is a lovey floor plan. Three couples stayed and all enjoyed. Being dog friendly is such a great asset. We really enjoyed the back yard and grill. There was only one negative the ice maker doesnt work except for a few cubes each day but it was an easy fix with a bag of ice. We will be staying again when we come back.

Lovely house, good location.

  • 4 of 5

We loved the decor of the home and were really impressed by all the little touches like an assortment of spices, olive oil, coffee, and every kitchen implement we could want. The master bed was very comfortable. We had a small glitch getting in to the property, which I only mention so I can tell you how quickly and effectively the issue was resolved, despite our late arrival time of 11 pm. I would stay again!

Delightful NM home

  • 5 of 5

Kimberly and Wayne's home in Albuquerque was an oasis in the desert. They have decorated this gem in authentic Southwestern motif. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed to feel at home. The master bedroom with the attached bathroom was comfortable and quiet. The back yard included an elevated patio with a grill, and there was outside dining with candles--very romantic. The gated community is a tranquil place to walk, and there is a park a half block away. We hope to return to spend more time. Thanks for your warm hospitality.
