About the property

House, Three Bedrooms, two Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Come and completely relax in this comfortably rustic three-bedroom home perched on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean on the scenic, storied Mendocino Coast. Located on a quiet, gated road ideally situated West of famed California Highway One, this cozy retreat is perfect for a family vacation, a weekend with friends, or a romantic getaway.

A beautiful eight mile drive from the historic village of Mendocino, this is the perfect home base for wine tasting, beach combing, kayaking, hiking, biking or shopping. Simply relaxing is fine, too, and you will find the peaceful setting and sea air perfect for sipping a local wine on the expansive porch, soaking in the private hot tub, or reading that book you've been trying to find time for. Treat yourself to the many fine local restaurants, or stay in and create a gourmet meal of your own in the fully equipped kitchen.

Each of the three bedrooms feature brand-new luxury pillow-top Queen-size bedsets. There are two bathrooms; one featuring a vintage claw-foot tub perfect for a warm bath, and the other a double shower. All linens are of course provided, as well as an assortment of games, jigsaw puzzles and books to enjoy. Relax or be inspired; it's up to you!

Why The Owner chose North Coast California

My wife and I have long enjoyed the Mendocino Coast and visited frequently as weekend get-aways. We were fortunate to meet many locals and eventually locate a home for sale that we fell in love with.

What makes this house unique

Our favorite feature of this vacation home is how utterly relaxing it is. Even when we visit with all intentions to accomplish work away from work, the relaxation gene kicks in unexpectedly, and all tensions or stress from our work-a-day life melt away.

Great if you're traveling with your dog!

  • 4 of 5

This was a very sweet, homey feeling vacation house. The views were nice and you feel very secluded and safe. If you are traveling with your dog, this is a great option. Very dog friendly. A few cons: There is a musty dog smell when you first arrive, the mattress in the downstairs bedroom felt a bit too broken in and the door knobs in the bathrooms kept falling off. Otherwise, a nice place. The master bedroom is lovely and the living room was very comfortable too. Easy to get to and easy to get to town!

Perfect 3 night getaway

  • 5 of 5

My two 30-ish daughters and I just spent 3 wonderful nights at this house. It was everything we could have hoped for. It was a great location for our day trips into Mendocino and Fort Bragg, and the time we spent at the house itself was so much fun! I got up earlier than they did and sat out on the front deck and watched the ocean every morning after a great night sleep - the beds are so comfy! We made breakfast each day at the house, as well as chocolate chip cookies. We went in the hot tub, watched a movie, played Mad Libs. . . It was a perfectly relaxing getaway from the Bay Area. Loved it!

It's alright. it had a nice view as promised. However, it smelled like its been closed for a month.

  • 3 of 5

View was great, but the smell was overwhelming. Even if you've only locked the place up for hours, it seemed like it's been closed for a month.

Did quite a few things in the short time and the house was very rustic just a few problems the doorknob kept falling off. I had to buy scouring pads to clean the pans and pots. the hot tub needs to be cleaned badly. the house had a beautiful view and was very nice would rent there again

Private, Lots of Room. Comfy Beds, Great Hot Tub

  • 4 of 5

A great roomy cabin and comfy beds and furniture. Would have been 5 stars if it weren't for the unfortunate odor from dampness or something and the dishwasher was broken. Otherwise an awesome place to relax.
