Overview

Olympic Peninsula House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms + Loft, 3.5 Baths, (Sleeps 6-9)

You'll enjoy a one of a kind vacation experience in this lovely home. There are so many things you can do while vacationing in our area. Lake Sutherland boarders on the Olympic National Park. Such features as Lake Crescent, Merrymere Falls, and fantastic hiking trails are only minutes away. You will be a short drive away from such day trip adventures as Hurricane Ridge, SolDuc hot springs, ocean beaches, the ferry to Victoria, and Forks the home of Twilight fame. Lake Sutherland offers seasonal fishing to those with a Washington state fishing license.

Each bedroom is a master suite with its own bathroom. Enjoy sitting in one of two sunrooms that overlook Lake Sutherland. Grab a book and relax, or play on the lake. You can bring your boat or jet ski and tie off at our dock. Our lake is a great place to ski, wakeboard, tube, fish, or simply relax and take in the scenery.

The fall colors are spectacular. Our winters are generally mild. In the late fall, winter, and spring a creek flows by this cabin. Crack open a bedroom window and fall asleep to the sound of our gentle creek.

About Winston Wilson

In 2010 we bought another waterfront home across the lake on a large parcel. It has become our primary residence with the possibility of adding a rental cottage on that property. We love the lake life.

Winston Wilson purchased this house in 2000

Why Winston Wilson chose Olympic Peninsula

We had lived in the home we are currently renting on VRBO since 2000. We love Lake Sutherland and bought a cabin across the lake that has becoming our new home. The mountains that surround our lake give the feel of being in one of the great western mountain resort settings.

What makes this house unique

I love to go out on the lake and Jetski, water ski, wakeboard, tube, pull our grand kids behind the boat, or just sit out on the dock and read a book.

Amazing house with heavenly view!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this house for 5 days! It was our first time visiting Port Angeles, we came for my first marathon race (North Olympic Discovery Marathon). We are so happy that we stayed in this gorgeous home! The view is breath-taking!! The house is specious, cozy, and clean. You can definitely see that the owner took a lot of pride, hard work, and love in building the house. My kids (6 year old daughter and 2 year old son) LOVE the lake, they enjoyed fishing and kayaking the entire weekend!! My daughter actually caught her first fish, which is pretty AWESOME! They are having so much fun that they don't want to leave. :) We look forward on staying in this house again on our next visit in Port Angeles. Winston and Connie, thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home!!

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for your great review. I often ask our guest to take the time to put in a review, I wish more did. We do appreciate the time you took to write up a review and the fun story about your daughter catching her first fish. I was about her age when I caught my first fish and at the age of 63, I still remember it clearly. Thanks again Winston and Connie

Just what we were hoping for!

  • 5 of 5

Just what was advertised and more, this home offered a great family respite plus the little unexpected extras. So much space that everyone could find a nook to get away from the crowd (9 of us,) yet, there were areas inside and out that were large enough for us all to gather comfortably together. Clean, well stocked with kitchen items, linens, towels, and toys for children as well as adults. Beautiful views and gardenlike grounds. The small beach area was perfect for our granddaughters aged 5 years & 22 months. We had a memorable vacation in all the right ways! Thank you Winston & Connie for sharing your home.

Awesome week with the family at this wonderful Lake House!!

  • 5 of 5

Great day trips to Victoria, different falls and trails, lavender field, etc.

We cherished our family time together at this beautiful lake house.

The dock, kayaks, paddle board, fire pit, and 'laughter' table in the sunroom were all well used.

Six couples and one teenager....we loved each having our own bathroom.

The home is well stocked and very comfortable. We couldn't ask for more.

We have recommended your home to others....and we hope to visit again.

Thank you very much Winston and Connie!

Ideal Lake Home

  • 5 of 5

The home was perfectly located on the lake, the view was so calming. This was our first trip to the rain forest so we spent a lot of time driving, next time sticking to the house. There was enough room for everyone to have their own space and still feel the coziness. The kitchen had ample supplies and a gas stove. I am searching for the mattress for the master because it was the best! Winston was so quick to answer any questions and assist us in checking in without issue. It was a short but sweet family vacation, this will always be in my heart as one of the best.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the great review. We do enjoy making our lake house available, it is always very heartwarming to hear how much it has meant to our guests. Now is the time to begin booking for next summer. We generally begin finding our summer booking start a year in advance. If you have specific dates in mind you may find them to be not available if you wait till late fall to be booking this cabin for the following summer.

Beautiful House and Awsome Views

  • 5 of 5

This was our second trip to Port Angeles and this time we decided to bring our friends to show them this amazing area. We stayed at this beautiful cabin for 5 nights. Plenty of room for the 6 adults and one 2 year old. Plenty of things to do inside and out. Everyone loved being able to use the kayaks and sitting outside by the fire. The view was amazing and hard to leave. We would love to stay at this cabin again.

High Quality, Spacious, incredible views, ammenities excellent, everything clean, meticulous care

  • 5 of 5

We have returned to this property serveral years because it's the best value we have found. Lake Sutherland is a jewel in the Olympic Nat'l Park area and this happens to be the best, well kept rental in the area. The owners, Winston & Connie Wilson, keep this home spotless and well maintained. Amenities pleniful - kayaks, fishing poles, row boat, BBQ grill, patio and the deck upstairs has one of the best views of the Lake. Bald eagle fly by's are common and this year one landed near the downstairs sliding door (just where the boat dock starts). My wife & I travel here from San Diego and even though we have a lot of choices, this particular place is by far our favorite and well worth our efforts to be there.
