About John & Missy Tyler
I married my high school sweetheart in 1986 in my hometown, Decatur, Alabama.Taught elementary school in Trussville for 5 years before becoming a stay at home mom to our sons, both of whom are now in high school. When the kids were tiny we lived in Ohio for a year, New Zealand for 2+ years, then Poland and San Francisco. When it was time to settle down again, we chose the beautiful Gulf Coast as our home in 2002. We love showing off our chosen hometown, so feel free to ask us anything! My number is two five one three nine one three four four three:).
John & Missy Tyler purchased this House in 2006
Why John & Missy Tyler chose Fort Morgan
We prayed over our vacation home search intensely. When we walked into Almost Heaven (then named No Worry Inn), we knew it was the one. We felt an incredible peace when we walked in the door. 100% of our guests have been perfect, really! Often housekeeping calls and says they basically cleaned a clean house. We consider this house on loan from the Lord, a talent entrusted to us for a time.
What makes this House unique
Directly on the Gulf of Mexico, 75 feet of white sand. A boardwalk is ideal for brides. All of the living on one level makes it easier on young and mature alike. The ceramic tile floor throughout is ideal for those with allergies, or those who just like the cleanliness of tile. Almost Heaven's floorplan of two bedrooms and a bathroom on the east side and the west side is comfortable for two families vacationing together. The great room with cathedral ceilings and a bank of windows facing the Gulf brings families together. For an administrative fee, you can use our Beach Club membership for pools, hot tubs, tennis, and more.

The perfect vacation home
This summer we will spend our fifth summer vacation at Almost Heaven on the Beach. It is absolutely the perfect vacation home! We have been going each year since our youngest was 20-months-old and she will be six this summer. The home provides everything you will need - a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living area and spacious bedrooms with comfortable beds plenty of closet/drawer space. There is even a pack-n-play crib and high chair which we took advantage of the first couple of years and my 2-year-old nephew now uses. While preparing meals in the kitchen, you look directly out on the gulf through the huge bay window in the living area. Being directly on the beach means that we can come and go as we please and we can walk down the beach to The Beach Club when the girls want to swim in the pool. I especially love sitting on the beach-front deck that spans the back of the home and reading in the morning and after the kids have gone to bed. Nothing beats the sounds of the surf after dark! The beach is quiet and even during the heat of the summer (we go in July) you never have to worry about smacking someone with a frisbee! We enjoy the seclusion of the Fort Morgan area, but also like having plenty of options nearby when we want to get out and explore. There are lots of great restaurants and shopping just a few miles away. But back to the house - if you are looking for a great home with lots of ammenities, this is the place! We eagerly await our annual vacation and feel as if we are walking into our "second home" when we arrive.
Perfect location! Perfect house!
This was our first visit to the gulf and are very glad we did our research and found this amazing home in Fort Morgan. The home had ample cooking supplies and more than enough table service for the 6 of us(3 adults, a 15yr old, 10yr old, and a 3yr old). The beds were super comfortable, but we all found ourselves up at sunrise everyday and on the deck right away.
Everything was as described in the listing. The home was very clean and well kept with updated appliances. Missy was awesome to work with! This being our first trip to the gulf and first time renting a home, we had a TON of questions and Missy would more than happy to answer them all.
I would definitely recommend this home to anyone looking for beautiful white sand beachs, clear water, and solidarity. There was only one high rise condo in the area, but the beach directly in front of the house was all ours!
We saw all sorts of wildlife! Rays, Jellyfish, Dolphins, Turtles and Crabs in the water; and Cranes, Pelicans, and Seagulls on the beach. We visited the Fort Morgan Historical Site just down the road and had a good time. We also drove to Pensacola and visited the Pensacola Lighthouse, and on Missy's recommendation, the National Naval Aviation Museum. Our entire family was in awe of all the displays there.
We would also recommend the Sassy Bass restaurant just down the road from the house. We had fantastic service and an even better meal!
There is so much to do in the area, but we only spent 2 of the 5 days we were there out doing things. There were ample toys under the house for the sand and water. Inside, TON's of board games and puzzles kept us all laughing and entertained in the evenings.
If you want to do the "touristy" things, go earlier in the season as the museum at Ft Morgan was closed, and a few exhibits at the Naval museum and lighthouse were being remodeled/repaired as tourist season was over.
We will be back!! Barry,Morgan, Malinda, Hailey, Summer, & Avery from Illinois
Thank you for your kind words! We hope you consider Almost Heaven on the Beach your home away from home!
Clean and neat!
Each year my three sisters and I take a "sister vacation" to reconnect and shop til we drop. The selling point for us about Almost Heaven, was there were four bedrooms . Jackpot!! First impression was that it was as lovely as the picture. When inside, the first thing you notice is the view to the beach. WOW! It has a large open deck and you just want to stand there forever enjoying the sights and sounds of God's wonderful grace and beauty. Inside the "home" is very clean and the decor is very tasteful and cozy. It had a split floor plan with a bathroom on each side that accommodated us very well. We experienced a little of Tropical Storm Patricia during our stay, however we felt secure in this tight little beach house despite a little light shaking due to the wind. Great place and had a great time with my sister's. Did I mention clean? Would recommend it to anyone who needs a quiet respite from the world and to use this time to reconnect with God's amazing sunrise and sunset. Our thanks to the Tyler's. It was fun!
Our stay was amazing and unbelievable ! it was every thing we ever could imagine this is definetly paradise away from home !

Romantic Week in the Sun
Many times you have thought about or planned an exciting trip to the beach. Allow me to introduce you to a place in the Gulf Region that will change your interest and mind and set your vision to make your next trip to a place which is called Almost Heaven. A beach house that is right on the beach, private without interference from outside traffic and people. Just a short walk in the white sand and you will feel the cooling water of the ocean. Just imagine sitting on the veranda on the back of the house and fell the gentle breath and hear the romantic sound of the waves touching the shore. Watching the sun slowly disappear on the horizon. A place of peace and rest, away from all the stress of business and life. A home that sleeps ten people and has all the amenities you need and ask for to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Well, this is the place we call Almost Heaven. My wife and I had the opportunity to stay there for several days, what a pleasant and unforgettable week in the sun.
