Reviewer Comments:

The 2 chairs in kitchen area are broken. Unable to use fireplace.oven was greasy and had to clean before use. Refrigerator leaks water on food. Dishwasher was hard to start the selector was very hard to turn. Washer and dryer to small for cabin comforters. Lamp table in TV area is broken and very unstable. Bathroom shower in master bedroom was not hot at all. Luke warm at best. We still enjoyed ourselves and made the best if it. It was a getaway from technology. I would rate a 5 out if 10. Hot tub was great. I would not rent this cabin again unless upgraded.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the feedback and suggestions. The dining chair screws have been tightened back up. The fireplace is working and the pilot light should be going upon arrival, if not detailed instructions on how to start them are now located in the property binder. In the event you still have issues getting those going we're always happy to help either by phone or sending someone out. Please call us so we can remedy any issues during your stay. The washer / dryer is a stack unit but very typical in this size cabin and laundry services are now included with your stay. Also we could not find any issues with the hot water, possibly just too many other things or people using the hot water at the same time. Overall this is a nice rental with lots of onsite amenities including privacy with mountain views from the covered porch, hot tub and Wi-Fi. Give this one a chance, it is better suited for small families or as a couples retreat with around 1150 sq. feet of living space.

Reviewer Comments:

The view is the best part of this cabin. It's nestled into a beautiful area at the end of a dirt path. The path is quiet and not much traffic. The cabin is quaint. The bedrooms are a good size but both living rooms and the kitchen are very small. The TV is located downstairs which isn't a huge deal. We wanted to watch a movie but the space was too cramped and had 1 couch. The most dissatisfing part are all the house rules and extra fees. You can only leave 2 loads of laundry. Anything beyond that is a fee, the washer there is tiny. It wouldn't wash more than 5 towels at a time. If you use all 3 beds and each person uses 1 towel then that accounts for 4 loads of laundry which means you pay a fee or your stuck doing laundry before you leave. That was disappointing.

The first week was active with the grand children. The second week was restful without them. The house was in a perfect location to access town but not hear traffic at night. It worked great for 7 people.

Reviewer Comments:

We really enjoyed our stay in Crumpler. I think the house was adorable, but found it to be dirty. We had to get cleaning supplies and clean it ourselves the night we arrived. Make sure you bring your own utensils as well, since there are none in the house. Views are beautiful and the front porch is heavenly!

Reviewer Comments:

Our family was very comfortable in this cabin. It had all the amenities you would need for a stay in the mountains. We were 7 in total plus a dog. The description on the site is accurate; the cabin is very private. Our three teenagers loved exploring the wooded area around the property during the day. At night they would hang out on the porch and howl because they could hear the animals respond from the woods. One of the members of our family is terrified of heights and the drive to the cabin for her was not pleasant. On our first night she said she would not leave the cabin for the entire week, but she found the courage and we were able to enjoy all the great activities North Carolina has to offer. I will say the roads take some getting used to as it is a one lane road up the mountain to the cabin. (Note: there were rarely any other cars on the road). I recommend arriving during the day so that you get the lay of the land. During our stay we had a small issue with one of the locks, we called and within an hour or two someone had come to fix it. One thing I would say is the plumbing can be a bit of a hassle; we tried not to flush paper down as to avoid any issues. Overall, we had a great experience!
