Guestbook comments from the owner

Today is Ed's birthday and we could not have found a better place to spend it than right here at "Serenity on Cedar".

I had either forgotten or possibly never heard what it is like to experience stillness, calmness, quiet time like we have here. "Serenity" is a perfect way to describe the feeling that we experienced.

I loved waking up and seeing the fog over the mountains cross the lake. We watched the wind blow across the water and enjoyed the sounds of the water running down the creekbed beside of the cabin.

For several years I have wanted to spend a weekend away in a log cabin in the mountains, but the opportunity never presented itself until now. This has been a wonderful place and time beyond what I had imagined. Normally when we travel, we drive around and check out all the local sites. Staying here at Serenity on Cedar leaves me with no desire to look any place further. There just cannot possibly be anything better or more to see than is right here.

We thank you for sharing this beautiful place with us.

serenity on cedar

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was more than we expected. The different levels made it very private for the family to be together.

Everything was provided for cooking and they had a lot of board games for enjoyment.

The cabin was very clean and lake was beautiful.

I will go back and try it out in the summer months as well!

Water crafts the highpoint

  • 5 of 5

Our family reunion in the mountains was here at Serenity on Cedar. There were 9 of us who came together from 5 different states. We were on the beautiful and peaceful lake every day of our 5 day stay, using the provided kayaks, canoe, paddle boat, and row boat (thank you so much Carol!) They were an added benefit of staying at this beautiful, very clean, and roomy log cabin. The path and steps from the house to the lake are very well done, with wooden or rope railings, making it very manageable for the older ones, and out of shape ones. One late night we laid on the dock to watch the shooting stars (I saw my first one!!!) We cooked all our meals there, sometimes using both kitchens. The biggest disappointment was that the dining room table only sat 6 people, which is surprising when the house sleeps 11. When the weather was warm, we all ate outside and enjoyed the BEAUTIFUL view. There was no fire pit outside, but a very nice and big fireplace where we had a fire going every night. Yes, the road and driveway was very steep, but we handled it very well. There is plenty of parking (we parked 5 cars and a trailered motorcycle). We SO enjoyed our stay here!

Perfect place for our family!

  • 5 of 5

This home and location was absolutely wonderful! Our three grandsons had a ball on the lake using the kayak and peddle boat. My son in-law and two of our grandsons enjoyed the row boat for fishing (even on the one day of rain) and even caught a few bass. The adults enjoyed the tranquility of the fireplace and breathtaking view from the deck. And we all participated in board games, foozeball and indoor corn hole on the rainy Saturday. No...the one day of rain did NOT spoil our trip at all! It was family time well spent together! We loved it so much there that I'm considering another family outing there in early spring next year when the fishing will be much better.
