Surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains located in a private gated community with paved roads. Our Log Home is located in the center of 10 acres of land. If you like to stay around the house while on vacation, you can curl up and read a book from our small library, play cards, or board games. Every room offers TV and remote-control ceiling fans. You can even light the fireplace by remote control. You can create your favorite meal or just throw something in the microwave. All floors are hardwood and tiled. The breakfast island is covered with stone and the fireplace is trimmed in cedar.
When you venture outside, you will have plenty of places to relax and enjoy the nature North Carolina has to offer. On the front porch, you can rock the day away all while keeping an eye on the weather station. Out back, you can sink into one of the deep, comfortable chairs or in one of the rocking chairs. We have a fire pit on the deck out back and plenty of room if you or anyone in the family would like to camp out (tent not included) for the night or just hit the hammock.

I have always wanted to have a Log Home in North Carolina. When we had the opportunity to purchase the Log Home shell, we went for it. It all started with 4 walls, the windows and a roof. The rest was up to us, Carol was responsible for the interior decorations, and I took on the construction and landscaping. What we have accomplished is a home that can be shared with family and friends and create lasting memories. Until we are ready to retire, we have decided to share what we have with our rental guests. This picture was taken at Blowing Rock, NC.
The Owner purchased this cabin in 2007
We had family vacations in North Carolina and even spent our honeymoon in North Carolina. We both love the state, and we also like to ride my motorcycle in the area. North Carolina has some of the best riding in the country. Rutherfordton is small and friendly, rural, but not isolated. The area offers all the necessities with top ranked medical services, shopping nearby, and true southern hospitality to meet some great new friends.
We both like to read and sometimes that's all we do when we are there. We like nature, peace and quiet. We are able to enjoy this with our family and friends. It is the perfect place for us to gather together and make lasting memories for our family. Until we are ready to retire, we have decided to share our little secret spot for others to make some family memories of their own.
We had a great time at the gathering place. The cabin was exactly like the pictures, beautiful and well maintained. We were at a horse show most of the time, but was so grateful to have a nice place to come back to for the evenings. Mike was great to work with and easy to get in touch with anytime. Will definitely keep this place in mind again and have already referred friends and family!
We had an amazing time at the gathering place. The cabin was beautiful and clean. We felt so comfortable there that we almost did not go sightseeing because we loved the cabin so much. We definitely want to go back some day!
Absolutely amazing! For the price, we weren't expecting what we got. The pictures don't do this home justice. When we arrived, we couldn't have been happier. The location was perfect. Quiet yet accessible and close to everything you need. Mike was wonderful after I figured out my GPS was useless. He was kind enough to give me the directions that I should have written down the first time he gave them to me. (Lesson learned) The wife fell in love with everything about this perfect home away from home and we will most definitely be returning if Mike will have us.
House was very nice. Clean and well-stocked. Our stay was on very short notice, but they were great at making sure we were taken care of. The neighborhood was very nice, gated and very little traffic. Terrific for family walks or kids on bikes. Close to the lake, close to the mountains and close to horse country. Also was really nice to sit on the large back deck eating dinner and listening to the silence. A great stay and we will be back for a longer stay to explore everything around the area.
The cabin was great. It was exactly as pictured. Very comfortable and homey. It was great to be able to sit out on the porch each morning drinking coffee and dine out back in the evening. The kids loved the fact that the cabin had wifi and TV's in the bedrooms. It is located in a nice quiet development but close to the local stores and restaurants. About 30 minutes to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. We definitely want to come back.
Authentic log cabin, natural and remote setting for a peaceful retreat. Front porch and back deck provided a place to drink coffee in the morning and star gaze at night! All the comforts of home inside a quaint log cabin. Only a 15-20 minute drive to beautiful Lake Lure and historic Chimney Rock. We enjoyed family time hiking to the top of Chimney Rock and down to Hickory Nut Waterfall (where Last of the Mohicans was filmed). Lake Lure's Flowering Bridge and Morse Park Walking Trail out to the Gazebo on the lake were absolutely gorgeous! The owners are friendly, considerate and easy to reach. Thank you for a memorable family vacation!
