Overview

Northern Michigan House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-6)

Welcome to the Bass Lake Lodge! Where you will find the beauty of a quiet lake and amenities to make you feel like you are at home. Pets are NOT allowed and No Smoking inside the rental.

The Bass Lake Lodge is located on Bass Lake six miles outside of Traverse City. Bass Lake is a small, spring-fed lake that is nestled between Silver Lake and Long Lake. It is a 343 acre all sports lake which offers a peaceful and quiet atmosphere. It also offers beautiful fall colors!

There are four islands on the lake, each one making it more unique. There is a small public beach and boat launch which is located one mile away from the house. The south end of the lake is surrounded by State Lands and a girl scout camp, which offers a nice spot for fishing. There is lots of wildlife in, on and around the water; each year we see a pair of loons that nest nearby on the lake. And, the lake is also home to a majestic bald eagle!

The Bass Lake Lodge is centrally located; six miles to Traverse City and seven miles to Interlochen. (Interlochen is home to the Interlochen Center for the Arts National Music Camp.)

The Bass Lake Lodge is 1350 square feet and is filled with knotty pine paneling and tongue and groove boards throughout the home, which gives it a beautiful 'cabin' feeling.

Remodeled in winter of 2009 - new carpeting, light fixtures, drywall/paint, porcelain and limestone tile.

The bathroom was remodeled in winter of 2010 - new tub, porcelain tile and commode. A new couch, reclining chairs and dining room table set were added as well.

A custom kitchen was added in the fall of 2011; offering hickory cabinets (filled with everything imaginable to make cooking meals a breeze). A new 'larger' refridgerator (with an icemaker and water dispenser) and a dishwasher were added. The porcelain floor tile accentuates the coordinating countertoop and backsplash - which give you lots of room for preparing food.

The home also has a beautiful brick fireplace in the living area, a laundry room with commercial size washer and dryer. And, there is also private WIFI at the rental at no extra charge.

The landscape of the home has soft grass (summertime) and lots of flowers. A bonfire pit is located near the water and is surrounded by a large concrete patio. (Firewood is provided for your convenience.) There is a large deck on the back of the home which overlooks the lake and a beautiful sunrise. There is a 4' x 40' non slip dock with a 8' x 16' patio on the water. The rental includes the use of a row boat and a 5 person paddle boat (summertime only). Life jackets are provided.

Come to The Bass Lake Lodge to relax and enjoy beautiful Northern Michigan.

About Jennifer

Originally built by my Father and Grandfather, the rental has been part of my family for many years. Throughout the years it has been remodeled, with the most recent updates being done in winter of 2009 and winter 2010. I grew up down the street from the rental, then resided in it for several years until a job transfer moved me out of town. At which time I turned it into a vacation rental. Since then, I have moved back and now live across the street from the rental.

The neighborhood is definately the place to be! I refer to it as my own little piece of Heaven. Most of the residents in the area have been there for quite some time. It is located off of the 'beaten path' but is still close to everything!

I have put a lot of thought into the rental with the intention of making your vacation as easy and enjoyable for you as possible. From linens to everything you might need in the kitchen as well as firewood and life vests are just a few of the no charge extras that I provide. It is exactly as it is advertised, no surprises! Previous guests have thanked me and provided me several nice comments on the rental, check out my comments from previous guests to learn more!

I hope you will be as excited to vacation at The Bass Lake Lodge as I am to live in this wonderful area!

Why Jennifer chose Northern Michigan

This home was built by my Father and Grandfather. After purchasing it and living in it for several years, I turned it into a vacation rental as my job took me out of town for several years. I enjoy the rental business and decided to keep it going after I returned to the area.

What makes this house unique

The Bass Lake Lodge is in a quiet, friendly neighborhood that is conveniently located to Traverse City, Interlochen and many other area attractions. It is set on a 343 acre, all sports lake which offers great fishing, beautiful views and lots of wildlife. The rental is filled with lots of extra amenities that will make your vacation that much better! The rental has a fantastic view of the sunrise as well. And, the owner lives nearby in case you need anything special.

A true Northern Michigan experience

  • 5 of 5

Far enough away from the busy-ness of Traverse City & close to quiet, solitude, nature and relaxation. Fishing is great--bass & bluegill. Fantastic sunrises. Bring your camera & binoculars. Our autumn stay was ideally timed and I look forward to spending time on Bass Lake in the summer & winter as well. Can you imagine the lake frozen...ice skating, ice fishing and staying cozy & warm by the wood burning fireplace. And in the summer! What a great place for swimming & playing in the sun. Stay here and you'll experience the best Northern Michigan has to offer at an affordable price in a clean, comfortable home.

Simply Great

  • 5 of 5

Great location, and very comfortable stay. Jennifer left us a welcoming gift of salsa, and was very attentive to our questions about the lodge and things to do in the area. 10/10 would stay again.

Weekend Getaway.

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I went here for a getaway, alone. Was wonderful. The cabin was clean, warm and welcoming. 15 minutes from town and hoping to go back in the summer. Jennifer (the owner) even sent us a listing on who does snow tubing. We, unfortunately, due to my husbands shoulder did not get to enjoy that. The wine tour was great too.

Wonderful retreat

  • 5 of 5

My wife, daughter, and son-in-law rented the lodge the first week of November. It's not normally the best time of the year to rent a cabin on a lake, but after staying here for a weekend I would return any time of the year. Upon arriving, we found a nice little gift basket with some local treats. It was a very clean and cozy place to stay. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. It only has one bathroom, but it was clean, updated, and stocked with nice towels. The beds were very comfortable.

The view of the lake was relaxing, maybe because there was no activity on it due to the time of the year.

The owner stopped by on Sunday morning to check on us and offered to let us check out a little later than normal which was nice as we didn't have to rush around to leave.

When reviewing rentals, I like to find something that maybe the owner could improve on. In this case, it's hard to do. If anything, I would have liked them to respond to emails just a little quicker. It certainly wouldn't keep me from renting here again. Overall, I highly recommend the Bass Lake Lodge as a clean, cozy, cabin rental on a beautiful lake.

GREAT VACATION SPOT!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bass Lake Lodge.

The home is very clean, comfortable and well equipped. There was a welcome basket of items for making s'mores which was a nice touch. We really felt like welcome guests.

It's a great location, it's in a nice quiet neighborhood on the lake. The deck is perfect for enjoying morning coffee and listening to the loons ( it's perfect anytime of the day) It's so peaceful.

While here we visited Sleeping Bear Dunes, drove the Northern Loop (it has a nice wine trail and great little towns along the way). We also went into Traverse City.

Great Place!

  • 5 of 5

Our family really enjoyed the house. The owner goes beyond what I have ever experienced before to make you have a great stay. What you might not be able to get out the ad is all the extra the owner provides for you (extra towels, toys for kids, fishing poles, life jackets for an army, extras that would help with a toddler (pack and play, booster chair, baby gate...), well equipped kitchen and a welcome package. We packed as if we were renting any other house and found we didn't need half the stuff we brought.
