We love to entertain friends & families whenever we can. We would like to meet people from all over the world & introduce them to the real Brooklyn, get a taste of living like the locals. We always make sure that a portion of the income is donated to charity, such as community food pantries and women's shelters, etc.
Richard Morin purchased this townhome in 2007
The house was built in 1899 & remains in great condition. Guests will appreciate its charm and comfort.
This is a REAL neighborhood and everybody knows everyone. Children play outside safely.
What can I say, this is New York! We just had a film made on the story of Jackie Robinson, he grew up on our block. We have a lot of history here. Come and get a taste of it.
Lulu and Richard,
We want to thank you for sharing your very comfortable brownstone home with us. Your hospitality and warmth made our vacation that much more special by having a great place to relax and unwind after a day exploring NYC. Your help with getting us started our first day was just what we needed. The loft was quiet, the bed comfortable, and the neighborhood safe and welcoming. Daily breakfast and desserts were fantastic. We were truly spoiled. Thank you. We hope to return again.
Sincerely, Carole and Rux
This was our first experience with HomeAway and we could not have been happier! Lulu and Richard were very responsive and helpful. They live in the downstairs apartment but are not intrusive in any way! The very private rooms (super large living room - so much seating!), bedroom (super comfy bed!) and very large, modern bathroom were SO CLEAN - AWESOME SHOWER!!!! It is a beautiful space! Lulu prepared a beautiful, delicious, plentiful breakfast every morning which was left on a shelf just outside our door. Fresh towels were left daily. You cannot go wrong staying here. Street parking is a bit of a problem - but it is Brooklyn! We will definitely be back! Thanks for a great stay! See you soon!
Our family of four (two daughters of 14 and 16) stayed in this lovely appartment / B&B for 9 nights and we enjoyed our stay very much. The authentic appartment has a living room with two comfortable sleeping sofa's, a bedroom (good bed) and a bathroom with a very good shower and bath. It has all the benefits of an appartment and the bonus of a delicious breakfast with fresh food that is put in front of your door each morning (not to mention the home made sweets we got every day). Also a plus is the very friendly contact we had with our hosts Lulu and Richard, with whom we communicated through a blackboard, which was fun and very convenient. The appartment was very clean! We appreciated the fresh towels we got every day. We felt very save in the neigbourhood and in the subway, and we came in late every evening. Five stars for the appartment and the hospitality! The only drawback for us was the time it took us to get to all the sites in Manhattan. It takes about 50 minutes (including walking, waiting and traveling) to get to Central Park. But if you don't mind that (the subway is quite interesting) or if you want to experience a stay in Brooklyn, we would definitely recommend this true gem!
The description of the property and the attached pictures are exactly as shown in the listing. The queen size bed and the two pull out beds were very comfortable. The large room with the two pull out beds has the TV and the bathroom is off the bedroom. The place was very clean. The bathroom was a nice size with a huge shower and a separate bathtub.
Richard and LuLu were very nice and helpful. The daily breakfast and evening desserts added a nice touch to our stay - fresh fruits, juices, yogurt, homemade desserts and more. Also we were given clean towels and wash cloths everyday which we thought was very nice too.
There were a few restaurants within walking distance. We had dinner at Peaches which was a few blocks away and lunch at Manny which was just around the corner. We enjoyed our food at both places. The subway was about five blocks away, about 15 minute or less walk. We felt very safe walking in the neighborhood even during the night.
I would recommend this property to my friends and relatives.
The time we had during the stay was probably the best experience we´ve ever had.
Richard and Lulu´s breakfast was delicious and a good start for the day.
The apartment was very clean and well equipped and offered enough space for 5 people.
The location was really nice and had easy access to the metro station into manhattan and JFK.
Lot of restaurants and bars are available in the neighborhood and anyway very friendly people.
I would highly recommend this apartment for anyone.
Thank you very much again Richard and Lulu, next time in New York definitely at yours again.
Hi Lulu and Richard,
Thanks for making our New York trip a lot easier and memorable owing to your hospitality. You welcomed us with a open heart and showed us with wonderful and nutritious Breakfast and a night snack. The apartment was impeccable clean. Thanks for guiding us with important places to visit and how to get there in the subway. The neighborhood was clean and the people were very friendly. It took us a little while to figure out the subway after which it was very easy to get to our destinations. The subway was about five blocks away. Your place is much better than a Hotel and we felt like home. I didn't have to bring my pillow with me. Thanks for making out trip a lot easier.
Guests get to enjoy all that New York City has to offer. We are in close proximity to the Brooklyn Museum, the new Children Museum, Prosect Park and the Botanical Garden.
