Why Linda chose Guanacaste

Beautiful Playa Tamarindo is located in the province of Guanacaste, on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. It is approximately 45 minutes southwest of the Liberia airport (LIR) and a 15 minute ride from the small Tamarindo airstrip. The villa is located at a superb location at the southern end of Tamarindo, between Playa Tamarindo and the immaculate Playa Langosta. A large variety of activities are readily available. The many wonderful restaurants in the area are highlighted by local, as well as European and North American chefs. The atmosphere is always casual, and the food is terrific. Banks and shopping are nearby for all your ATM, grocery, pharmacy and sports needs. Art galleries showcase talented local artists and craftsmen.

What makes this villa unique

The area is known for its world class surfing and sport fishing. Canopy and zip line tours, rock climbing, white water rafting, kayaking, golf, sailing, beach volleyball, hiking, horseback riding, bird and turtle watching, mountain biking, ATV's, snorkeling, scuba diving, gambling and nightlife can all be enjoyed in Tamarindo or nearby. The well-known volcanoes and rain forests are a short excursion, and of course... don't forget the monkeys!

Guestbook comments from the owner

In response to the Jan. 3 guest, the next guest placed this review in our guestbook... One week is not enough! We are happy to report that Casa Mono Perezoso and Tamarindo are also wonderful places to do absolutely nothing. Our only hint of activity was a drive to the south for a quick visit to Avellanos and a really superb lunch in Playa Negra. Beyond that, we enjoyed the beach, the pool, and being lazy. We cooked the best snapper and steak. Planning a return!

Beautiful property with access to Langosta beach club

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at Linda's place. Check-in was easy with her property manager assisting. The home is beautiful and tastefully furnished. It has a pretty plunge pool in the back, perfect for cooling off after the days activities. The best part was having access to Langosta Beach Club. We hung out there for part of each day and enjoyed the food and drinks, sushi bar, work-out room, pool and surfboard rentals. We even had dinner one night at the beach club. The food was delicious. Also enjoyed meals at Patagonia, Noguis, and El Sapo RistoPizza (very authentic Italian pizza!) Everthing is in walking distance (10-15 mintues). Highly recommend this place!

Comfy, safe stay with member access to Longosta Beach Club!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Linda's place in Tamarindo for spring break - a family of four with kids ages 10 and 12. The condo was super comfortable and gated for a safe, private place with a parking spot, beautiful outdoor showers, and all of the comforts of home.

A typical day was spent with family breakfast at the condo, then a short drive to the Longosta Beach Club which was an absolutely fabulous place to hang out during the day. We rented a cabana each day and had lunch there at the Club. We body-surfed, swam in the pool, and met lots of other families enjoying a lively but not over-crowded spring break.

I highly recommend Linda's place. Having the car was really nice. You could walk to town or to the Club, or rent a golf cart instead, but we used the car a lot.

We spent the first part of the trip up in Rincon de la Viejo at Blue River Resort zip-lining and horse-back riding, and Tamarindo was the chill, beachy, second-half of the trip. It was really great!

There's a big American-style grocery store in Tamarindo, but we really loved the Italian Fish and Cheeses market across the street. What a unique place!

Unforgettable trip to Costa Rica!

  • 5 of 5

The villa is very peaceful and serene. It is beautifully decorated. Linda and the on-sight manager, Will, were both very easy to work with. I don’t think you could find a better rental in the area. It was really fabulous, and I am a picky renter. The Langosta Beach Club is a huge plus.

1. Pack a flashlight! It is a must walking back to the villa in the evening.

2. Consider taking a white noise machine. The birds are up early.

3. Take sturdy walking shoes. The roads are dusty and many parts of the beach are rocky.

4. Be prepared for wind! I could not wear my contacts it was so windy.

5. Our favorite restaurants were:

• La Palapa - 2 for 1 Happy Hour ALL day with a fire show every evening.

• Blue Latitude – Has great food but spotty service.

• Panga’s Beach Club – Take a taxi, as it is a hike from the villa. Go and watch the sunset on the beach. Excellent food and ambiance!

6. Take a tour! If travelling to Monteverde is too far, tour the Hacienda El Viejo. One of the dictators from the Somoza family, who ruled Nicaragua, lived there in the 1960’s. We also took the El Viejo Wetlands boat tour. Both were impressive.

7. There are lockers (with keys) and showers in the changing rooms of the workout center at the Langosta Beach Club.

8. Go to the beach and walk left past the point away from Tamarindo. Be prepared as it is rocky. Just beyond the Occidental Tamarindo on Playa Langosta, cross the estuary and walk to the end of the point. There is some great snorkeling in the area. It is several miles there and back and you have to go at low tide. It is worth is! This is a secluded beach and it is breath taking!

9. Go to the farmer’s market in town on Saturday mornings. Lots of local items are for sale. Most everything is organic.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for your review and the helpful tips. For the benefit of future guests, here are a couple of responses to the review: - Our home is located in Tamarindo Preserve which is at the “Point” between 2 beaches. Playa Langosta is definitely rocky but many visitors find it fun to walk on the rocks. The easier beach access from our home is toward Playa Tamarindo. There’s sand along the side of a very short stretch of rocks (which are much lower and smoother than the larger outcrops on Langosta). The remainder of the one-mile beach is all sand and lovely to walk on. The Beach Club is located at the nicest part of the beach. Most visitors have no problem walking on or next to the short section of rocks on Tamarindo. If so, there’s another access to the beach down the road from our home. - So sorry to hear about the wind! Please keep in mind that the wind is occasional and not always a problem. - A flashlight is helpful for walking in the evening, but many guests prefer to take a taxi back to our home in the evening. Taxis fares are inexpensive. - Thanks again! Linda

Just far enough from town's hustle and bustle.

  • 5 of 5

Beautifully appointed villa, warm staff on property, quiet location but not so far from town as to be inconvenient. We did like having a golf cart rental to run back and forth though. Beach club was great place to hang for the day. Took yoga classes and used fitness room. All in all a great stay though the town has gotten too busy.

beautiful property

Enjoyed our time as two couples at this villa. The security guards are very friendly and you feel safe. It is ~10 minute walk to the beach club/ocean and ~15-20 into downtown. We did the yoga at the beach club and would highly recommend it.

Amazing unit and location

  • 5 of 5

My wife, myself and our two kids (8 and 6) stayed at the condo over New Years. Location is fantastic. You are close enough to the Longosta Beach Club to walk but far enough that you don't have any street noise or dust (we were there during the dry season).

Unit is VERY nice with great amenities. The plunge pool was a welcome retreat from having to go anywhere during the day.

The beach club is super nice and very welcome amenity.

Linda, the owner was super helpful with any questions and responded quickly.

Willy, the on site manager was very nice and easy to reach

We would stay again in an instant.
