We put a stew in the crock pot, skied Sunday River and came home to the smell of fresh bread and beef stew.
Relax and do nothing but watch the snow fall.
Thanks for letting me know. We had a great time up there, and enjoyed ourselves very much. You have a lovely place! A bit farther from Sunday River than we're used to, but it more than made up for it with extra elbow room and creature comforts.
Anyhow, very glad to hear we left the place in acceptable shape. We did our best but one can never be certain with a place you're renting for the first time.
Thank you very much for renting to us!
We enjoyed our 4 night stay in the condo, which is clean, comfortable and well-equipped and suited us very well. Plenty of dishes, silverware, glasses etc. and although we didn't cook, there appeared to be plenty of cooking equipment and utensils. The area is very quiet - it was once a ski area - and we were delighted to find that we could hike right from the condo - a definite plus for us. The hike up to Speckled Mountain was wonderful and the shorter hike to Mount Adams was also enjoyable. Both have views.
The kitchen, living, and dining areas are on the upper level and are bright and airy. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck at all times of the day. The 3 bedrooms and full bathroom are on the lower level and although they have windows, they are a little dark. There is also a dehumidifier in the twin bedded room, which needs to be run, which makes that room rather warm.
Unfortunately the outside of the condo is in need of repair, which does not give a good first impression, but the interior is well maintained and we soon overcame our initial disappointment.
We enjoyed Ebenezer's Pub and the take out pizza from the grocery store in Center Lovell was tasty.
Overall we had a great stay.
Grab your food supplies you dont need much else. Definately in a lost corner of white moutains area we spent a day waterfall and lake hunting for a swim in crystal clear waters returning to make a home cooked meal and relaxing in the hot tub neighbors near you but no problems perfect for the family trip with my adult children just what we were looking for. Thank you so much we will be back!
Despite the long drive, bumpy roads and ever so slight musty smell, which was cured by turning up the AC and dehumidifier, we had a great time once again. We stayed here two years ago in October for our anniversary and decided to go back in the summer with friends. We had everything we needed and then some. Deb's condo is very well supplied in the kitchen and there are lots of towels and sheets available and everything you could need. Just bring your own food and bathroom items and the rest is covered.
The hot tub was so relaxing and easy to use. The manual in the living room is so handy, with recommendations of places to see, things to do and some great restaurants (go to Ebenezer's Pub of you're a foodie and beer fan, I promise you won't be disappointed - the Coconut shrimp was to die for). We had a fantastic time and this condo is well worth the winding roads and twisty turns to get there. Our only regret was not getting to see a moose, despite our persistent efforts.
Condo vacation was something new for us this year. My family and I have enjoyed the West Coast of Maine for years, but always in a single rustic cabin set up, so we weren't sure what to expect when we changed to a condo rental. We loved it! The 2-level 3br condo was fresh and clean upon arrival, and the detailed directions and instructions were clear and helpful. Nicely furnished in kitchen and linens, beds and bedrooms clean and comfortable, wi-fi was dependable and often kept the children from mutiny, and the overall open and roomy set up was well suited for our six person family. Privacy was never an issue. This is a small cluster of condo's set off from the main inn, and passing friendly hello's from the neighbors were the only contact we really had, being in a nice end unit.
There is much to do in Western Maine, which makes it one of our favorite destination areas. We hiked many of the area trails, went rockhounding in a local mine, enjoyed the beach at beautiful Kezar Lake, and shopped and dined in North Conway, NH, just 40 minutes away. The people are friendly and helpful, Maine's summer beauty was on display the entire week, and we couldn't have asked for a better family getaway.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this condo near Kezar Lake. It is set near a defunct ski resort. This is a bit off the beaten path but it was what we were looking for. It offered us a dog friendly, fully equipped kitchen and the hot tub to boot. If you are hikers, Deer Hill Road is right off their road which is a back entrance to Evan's Notch and has a cluster of trails (and mineral mines) right off this road. You are about 20 minutes from the Baldface parking lot. And you can hike Speckled Mountain up the Evergreen Extension and Cold Branch trail right from their parking lot! Both the owner and the Inn were very helpful with a few questions we had. A public boat ramp for Kezar Lake is also just a few miles down the road. The beds and space are as advertised and the condo was spotless. It does still have some of the original decor leading to a more camp feel. We would definitely stay again as we have so many more trails to hike.
The condo is well maintained & in a beautiful, quiet area. Deb is prompt with answering any questions & have a ton of suggestions on where to go & what to do. My boyfriend & I had a great time. He's already trying to figure out when we can go back!
Enjoy the serenity of Kezar lake 'one of the three most beautiful lakes in the world.' Nine miles long and one mile long it sits in the foothills of the White Mountains. Our condo is located 3 miles from the public boat launch/ beach on the upper bay of Kezar Lake. You may swim in one of the many lakes or secluded ponds within minutes of the condo. Our condo also abutts the White Mountain National Forest. Hiking, biking, horseback riding and golfing all within minutes. Return to your childhood, visit the drive-in theatre in nearby Bridgton. Visit the Freburg Fair in the fall. Snowmobile from the door,ITS 80, ride all day, park outside the door and return to soak in the hot tub beneath the stars. Enjoy free use of the library, fireplace room, game room with ping pong, pinball, air hockey in the next door Inn. Try your hand at prospecting Visit the mineral site just a few miles away where gem quality amethyst have been found. Our condo is 30 minutes from Sunday River
