Our family has gone to the Outer Banks for many, many years and rented homes on the beach. We enjoyed it so much we decided to purchase a close to home on the water getaway so we could spend more time with the atmosphere we love. Prior to our retiring to this home we are providing this treasure with renters (our guests) to be able to experience the same feelings. Knowing how particular we were with the rentals in NC, we offer the same amenities for our guests and sometimes more. It is very important to us to receive positive feedback and they have been abundant for which we cherish.
You won't believe you are in Ohio. If distant is a factor but wanting to find a close by location with a Key West atmosphere, you don't need to look any further. The area surrounding this paradise is full of things to do. Many of our guests have come back numerous of times since one vacation time is not enough.
How do you describe more than 100% satisfaction? The posted pictures do not do justice to your beautiful, clean and relaxing, home.
Just returned from our peaceful winter get-a-way! Spent yesterday at Kalahari and returned to "our" wonderful, quiet and beautiful home 4 miles away! You have a relaxing, inviting and welcoming home! Thank you for sharing it. Truly the windows/view is amazing! It is easy to see how much you care for the place by the way you maintain and add to it each year!
The fact that you made it affordable is very much appreciated in today's economy! You provided every imaginable comfort and accessory we could have possibly needed! The beds were so comfortable, we slept perfectly well...even Grandma who is 82yo slept like a lamb!
The fact that you were available made me relax about staying in a new place (can't say strange place because it felt like home immediately!).
I will recommend to anyone--it could NOT have been a more pleasant environment. We enjoyed the decorations, the unique furniture and again the view is spectacular!
Thank you from all of us!
This house was very clean and functional. Everything you need! The upstairs deck had sweeping views of Lake Erie and Cedar Point can be seen in the distance. Downstairs outside had colorful Adirondacks to relax on. The decor in the inside was a lot of fun. Being from CA, I really appreciated all the beach decoration and nick-knacks. Made me feel like home! There aren't really any restaurants in walking distance and it is about 10 minutes from Sandusky, 45--50 minutes from Cleveland. The king bed was OK. I would upgrade that next, but overall it was a very quiet neighborhood and slept throughout the night. The upstairs bathroom is gorgeous and someone did a great job on the remodel. The kitchen is small, so I wouldn't plan on a large Thanksgiving meal, but who likes to cook on vacation anyways? The small beach is within a 1 minute walk. It was small and private, however after big storm, dead fish floated in the small alcove, but I think there is a larger beach 5 minutes away that you can drive too. There is a large golf course almost next door where you can play golf, eat dinner, go shopping or rent jet skis. There is also a nice nature preserve next to that with a nice long walking path. Overall, this house was a great find and it was fun to look at the pictures that the owners left showing all the construction and upgrades throughout the years. This house definitely is a labor of love!
This year was our second stay at this charming lake front house and the wave action was incredible. I call it the mini ocean. Sleeping to the sounds of the waves is a rare treat. Last year was much calmer so you never know what is going to happen. Very clean, private and comfortable home in a nice, quiet neighborhood. Made it to both islands again and then a quick trip back 'home' for a great walleye dinner at I-5's restaurant. I think we just may have to plan another trip here before the year is over.
What a beautiful vacation we had here. My brother booked it for a week for our family. The view from the large deck is outstanding. We often sat outside and watched the waves. It was incredibly serene and calming. I loved how clean the house was, despite being a rental, I felt like we were in a close family member's house, it's well taken care of. The upstairs bathroom is gorgeous with a huge shower. It's decorated with care. Two beaches within a two minute walking distance. We had such a lovely time. We just came back today. Thank you for sharing your lovely house with us.
This is my third stay at this charming house on Lake Erie. The panoramic views of the ever-changing lake are gorgeous and the bird-watching is fascinating, making for a peaceful retreat as I "recharged my batteries." The kitchen has brand new, awesome appliances, the main level bathroom is new (and beautiful) and the couch and beds are super-comfortable. Attention to all the little amenities is another lovely touch. Looking forward to my next getaway!
I just returned from my 3rd stay at this wonderful house. The panoramic view from the main living area and bedroom of the ever-changing Lake Erie was so beautiful. Great kitchen, super-comfortable couch and bed and other thoughtful touches makes this house a perfect getaway. The neighborhood is quiet and pretty, too, with a lovely lagoon nearby. It's my go-to place when I need to get away.
There are 2 private beaches in walking distance from the Lake House. Minutes away from Sawmill Creek Golf Course that offers not only golfing but a marina with fishing charters and restaurants. Only 8 miles away from Cedar Point and 4 from Kalahari.
