Eugene Cottage Rental Photos and Description

Cottage, Studio, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-3)

Brand new (August 2010), delightful cottage in Central Eugene (Home of the Oregon Ducks), is located between the Pacific Ocean and Cascade Mountains in the lovely Willamette Valley. Features include serene colors and textures, tall ceilings, and antiques. All furniture and linens are top quality and new for your comfort. Reading a book in the cozy window seat is a perfect way to unwind after a full day of activities. Ample storage is provided for your belongings. A deep closet with shelves can accommodate most personal items. In addition, space above the 9 foot row of cabinets can store extras. Larger items can be placed in the garage as stated on the checklist. Finally, light fills the cottage through extensive quality lighting, skylight, bay window, and two other large windows. Built with a good sized kitchen, the studio comfortably sleeps 2 adults and 1 child. The w/d and closet space are bumpouts into the garage. The overall sq. footage is 500 sq feet.

Your home away from home is off a safe, quiet dead end street, surrounded by lovely gardens. Bungalows, Cottages, Tudors, Atomic Age Ranches, and Craftsmen homes were built in the neighborhood, creating an interesting flat walking tour through one of Eugene's older neighborhoods. Plenty of patio seating is available to take advantage of our perfect Oregon summer and fall. Next to the Amazon bike trail, easy access to Eugene is available. In addition, the rapid bus system is just a few blocks from the cottage. An easy walk will get you to major venues in Eugene: the U of O, Hult Center/Cuthbert Amphitheater/The Shedd, library, Saturday Market, fine dining, and many recreational opportunities. Also, several parks are sited close to the cottage.

About Carole Carlson

I am a retired school teacher with many passions: gardening, reading, hiking, my family and friends, Bach, learning to play the piano, travel, and my pets.

Carole Carlson purchased this cottage in 2004

Why Carole Carlson chose Eugene

After years of accumulating junk from my 3 sons, I decided to turn unused space into a practical, simple studio. As with most things in life, The Cottage took on a life of its own and begged to become a Vacation Rental! It's still practical. However, it now considers itself elegant and charming.

What makes this cottage unique

I love Eugene. As a transplanted East Coast big city kinda gal, I appreciate what this city has to offer: great summers and falls are perfect for outdoor activities, winters bring skiing and visits to the coast, the stimulation of being in a college town (Go Ducks), excellent medical facilities, and sipping Pinot Noir while the sun sets at 10 pm on a perfect July night.

Guestbook comments from the owner

What a delightful experience staying at your Rose Cottage. I found it wondrously appointed; healing, meditative, restorative. Thank you so very, very, much. This was the best part of my time in Eugene.

A Charming Stay

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Carol's cottage was delightful. She was a great hostess. The small cottage was brilliantly equipped and extremely cozy and artful. Perfect for two and a great destination for those who love gardens. Enjoyed dining at the Oregon Electric Station.

Delightful cottage near the University of Oregon

  • 5 of 5

I have stayed at The Cottage three times on different visits to Eugene. It is a delightful space--bright, quiet, safe. It has a comfortable bed and a kitchen with a full-size stove and refrigerator, and there is even a washer and dryer. The cottage is located adjacent the main house, but has its own entrance through a delightful little garden, so it's private. It's a nice base for those visiting the University of Oregon, which is a comfortable walk (about a mile and a half) or bike ride. It's also near downtown (restaurants, art, etc.) It's perfect for solo travelers and would work for two. The owner is wonderful. Obviously I like it, since I've stayed there three times, once for almost a week. It's a delightful little oasis, and it feels like everything that's good about Oregon.

We were so pleased with our accommodations at Carole's beautiful cottage!

  • 5 of 5

We were delighted with the cottage! All the decor was just delightful and we lacked for nothing!

All the details were meticulous and thought out to perfection!

Every morning we had fresh coffee from the machine Carole provided in our cottage, she even had all the necessities

For cooking....oven, stove, bbq and condiments! We had fresh yogurt waiting for us and homemade granola!!

The weather was perfect for walking and we enjoyed exploring Eugene.

Carole has a beautiful garden that is so welcoming ! And Carole was so helpful and enthusiastic .

We will make sure next time we visit Eugene we will book in advance at the Cottage!

Thank you Carole!

Exceptional, warm place to live

  • 5 of 5

I've stayed at a lot of VRBO places and this lovely cottage is the nicest. Very clean, tastefully decorated, warm feeling.

And the garden is right out of Sunset Magazine. The proprietor is fantastic also; very attentive when needed without impacting my privacy.

Great little cottage in the perfect location

  • 5 of 5

I recently stayed at the cottage while attending a conference at the University. I could not have found a better place to stay in Eugene! It was so cozy, comfortable and had absolutely everything I needed for my stay. It's also in a great location. I didn't have a car but I was able to walk to the University each day (and felt safe walking back at night). There are an abundance of restaurants within walking distance as well as grocery store and drug store. There are also bikes if you need to venture out further. Carole has put so much thought into this home away from home that it really makes you feel well cared for. She is a gracious host and even drove me to the bus stop on my way out of town (thanks again Carole!). Next time I am in Eugene, I have no doubt where I will be staying!
