Local Services & Businesses
Must stay here!
We stayed in this wonderful apartment for 4 weeks. What a blessing to find such a perfect HomeAway and the most wonderful host in Lucia. Lucia made arrangements for us to be picked up at the airport and met us when we arrived. She explained where everything was, how it worked, and had included all the starting necessities. The apartment is so compact & comfortable. We made breakfast every morning & dinner most evenings in the well appointed kitchen. You certainly wouldn’t need to do this as there are many lovely restaurants in the neighbourhood and Roscioli Bakery just around the corner. The apt is close to public transportation but also so well located for walking to all the different areas in the city. Lucia was available if we had questions & made several restaurant suggestions for the meals we did eat out. You couldn’t ask for a better place than this; if we are ever lucky enough to come back to Rome, this would be where we would stay.
Great Apartment, Perfect Location
This was our 6th in a row staying in the apartment. It is in a perfect location to walk to most all major sites and very close to bus connections. The apartment itself is very clean and well appointed. The owner of the apartment Lucia is a most gracious host and sees to every detail. We have already booked our return trip in 2019.
Wonderful location at the Campo Di Fiori
Lucia arrange for a private car to pick us up at the airport. As we arrived at our location, Lucia pulled up at the same time to let us in and show us around. Wonderful lady! She took her time to show us around the apartment, a hidden gate to the Campo and provided us with a map of the are. Prior to leaving she offered us a Pizza!!! Fantastic. After flying all night it was a welcome surprise.
As for the apartment, it was in a perfect location and appointed very well. Everything was immaculate and clean. We loved our little apartment and were sad to leave.
If you are looking at the Campo area you will not be disappointed.
A Great Stay
Lucia was a perfect hostess from start to finish! She communicated by email immediately, was helpful and welcoming in all aspects including information about sightseeing, arranging taxi transport and mapping the area. Her apartment was extremely well located, well equipped and though not fancy, was comfortable and homey. (4 star) It was nice to have extra space and homey conveniences instead of a standard hotel room. The apartment was similar to a junior suite and offered room to spread out - larger than most European stays. Everything was spotless! The only slight concern was staying in a busy area with noise from the surrounding neighborhood. Tips: the bed is not a king size, but a queen size by North American standards; the stand alone shower is small, so a large person may not be comfortable. We would most certainly recommend this apartment and Lucia to anyone!
Spotless flat in a great location
The flat is spotlessly clean, tastefully furnished and very convenient for its location near the shops and restaurants of Campo de Fiori, and a short walk from Piazza Navona. The area is very lively and can be noisy but the flat’s windows look into a reasonably quiet small square with parked cars and little or no pedestrian traffic. Lucia, the owner, was very welcoming and helpful; we already stayed in one of her flats some time ago and she gas confirmed to be an excellent host once again.
Very nice apartment in the center of it all. Lucia was the most gracious hostess, she made us feel at home immediately. Highly recommended!!
Campo de ' Fiori market in Piazza Campo de' Fiori opens at 6am and closes at 2pm everyday (except Sunday).
Located in the heart of the old town, the most picturesque market of Rome is also one of the richest in history.
The name Campo de ' Fiori might suggest a flower market, comes from the Latin Campous Florae, Flora.
Mistress by the great Roman general Pompey, the market has been held here for several centuries. Every morning except Sunday, piazza fills with colorful stalls selling fruit and vegetables, meat, poultry and fish.
One or two stalls offer pulses, rice, dried fruit and nuts, while near the fountain, in the square there are flowers stalls.
The main attractions, however, are the huge baskets of broccoli and spinach, or vegetables already cut and ready for the soup, and fresh mixed salads.
In addition to a feast for the palate, are also a pleasure for the eyes. The best delis and bakeries around the square complete the range of products offered and this market becomes the place to make all necessary provisions for a picnic, in summer, if the weather is nice, cool off with your snack on the lawns of one of the many city parks
If it is sunny, you'll catch a few young people and older gentlemen sitting at the base of a statue in the middle of the open space. The statue is a brooding, hooded Giordano Bruno - an excommunicated Dominican monk burnt at the stake for heresy on this spot on 17 Feb. 1600. The piazza is used as a marketplace during the day, and party central for college students and tourists at night. When the sky gets dark and the street lamps go on, Campo de' Fiori fills with people and lovers wander arm in arm in the crowd. Over the buzzing of conversation and the occasional burst of laughter you may hear a young vocalist belt out O Sole Mio at the top of his lungs as change plunks into his accordion case
