Nice location

  • 3 of 5

I am not completely happy with our stay. The location was beautiful. Right on the beach, beautiful picturesque view. But the place was not clean. It looked like it was cleaned weeks before and left to sit. The air conditioner in the main bedroom didn't work well. And no one came out to look at it. Plus we didn't like that there was not AC through out the place. The week of our stay was very hot & humid. So the main living area and bathrooms were very hot. Also it wasn't a huge deal breaker but no hot water all week. There is a extremely nice roof top balcony but as I said before it was not clean. There was a large amount of debris up there.

Owner's Response: Dear Guest, Thank you for having chosen our property at Playas del Yunque Puerto Rico. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you visit again soon. Thank you for letting us know the A/C unit was not functioning as cool as desired. Owners have taken your suggestion into account and have replaced the unit for a higher efficient one. The view to the beach from the main living room balcony is spectacular. While the unit has a roof top that is accessible from inside the villa, for security reasons we lock it out. We apologize the roof top had some debris - it is not supposed to be accessed.

Great value!

  • 4 of 5

My family (husband and three kids ages 12, 9, and 6) stayed at this beachfront condo from March 22 to March 27. The location is fantastic! It's right on the beach, and the condo complex is very close to a lot of the activities that we did while in PR (surfing in Luquillo, El Yunque, Old San Juan). I do not love the big resorts so this condo complex was perfect for us. It was very quiet during the week, and it seemed like it was a lot of locals on the weekend. People leave their doors open to let in the PR breeze. It had a great neighborhood feel to it. The only reason I did not give it five stars is that the condo could have been cleaner when we arrived. I did have to do some wiping down of the bathrooms and the kitchen. It was a small trade-off considering the great location. Also, just an fyi, there are air conditioning wall units in all the bedrooms but there is no A/C in the living spaces. We didn't use them because the PR breeze was more than enough to keep the place cool at night.

Excellent location - pictures are accurate but write-up is not

We stayed in this condo in early January.

Great location for getting to Luquillo (for Fly boarding), the Wyndam Casino, the rain forest (right across Route 3 at the same intersection), Fajardo (bioluminescent bay kayaking tour, great restaurants, and the ferrys), and Old San Juan. We kept very busy.

The condo has a great beach view. It is the closest building to the beach (there are many buildings in the complex - if there is ever another on VRBO, pick this one. Many just look out on lawns and other buildings. The complex was empty during the week. An almost private beautiful beach.

Lots of linens and nice new towels from Costco. Beds were comfortable. Bathrooms have been renovated and are updated and clean.

The balcony off the living room is wonderful. Nice breeze and a wonderful view. Pools are nice but we never used them. The condo has beach chairs and beach toys.

There is only 1 bathroom on the bedroom floor! There is no way 7 people can share a teeny-tiny bathroom. Only 1 can be in there at a time. The other full bathroom is on the main floor. And that is it. The description is wrong (says 2 full and 2 half, but maybe it will be changed now). We assumed that there was a master bath, another for the 2 other bedrooms, and a toilet on the main floor. We were surprised and disappointed.

There was a lamp in the master bedroom that is lit in the photos but the cord doesn't read an outlet.

The kitchen hasn't been updated and isn't stocked well. There were 2 bowls, plastic plates, sparse flatware. The dining room table seats 4 but there were 5 of us. 1 sat on a low balcony chair. A few more beach towels would be nice. We didn't find 5 and the house sleeps 7. The coffee pot makes 4-6 cups. With 3 adults we had to make several pots. One adult said she was going out to buy a new coffee pot (but we didn't have much free time for that).

The manager communicates well and fast, but I had to ask at least 3 times for the address and how to access the apartment. My departure was just 2 days away and I wanted to map out my route from the airport and have my plans made. I don't know why they wouldn't send me the street address as soon as I paid. I was being to think I was scammed.

This property has another management company that also lists the apartment - for a much lower price and a true listing of bathroom numbers. I asked about that and no one will respond to me.

Plastic on all the living room furniture is uncomfortable.

Beautiful, great central location

  • 4 of 5

The property was in an excellent location. It was close to just about everything. That was not the best part though...the beach view from the condo was gorgeous, the beach was lovely, the pool was clean and the 4 kids enjoyed it! We had 2 families with one parent and 2 kids each in the place and it had plenty of room for all of us. It was quiet, lovely, and the neighbors were unbelievably nice (more locals than tourists and they were kind and great neighbors).

I have no idea why anyone would go anywhere else. This vacaction was perfect and this place was a big part of it.

Perfect Beach Front Apartment

  • 5 of 5

Playas del Yunque was the perfect beachfront apartment. We are very happy to have chosen this property for our quick getaway from the freezing temperatures back home. The kids love playing in the pools, playground and building sands castles. We absolutely recommend this place to everyone.

Perfect Vacations

  • 4 of 5

For our family was a perfect vacation in years. The area is perfect for a family!!

We visit the Rain Forest El Yunque and Villa Campestre a horse ride area very nice for the kids. Is a very relax area. The apartment have all we need for a vacation. All cooking utensils, and plenty of clean towels were supplied. The condo was clean and large enough for 4-8 people comfortably. There were local stores, bakeries and restaurant open nearby to get fresh bread every day, and anything else we might need. The pool was nice and clean, and the property was well maintained. The beach is very close to the apartment.

I don't think I'll ever rent a hotel room again!
