Guanajuato House Rental Photos and Description

House Share, there are 2 Bedrooms available and one Bath

Cervantino is here. Are you looking for a share? A place to spend a week or longer? Casa Manzana Verde is here to make your vacation or long term stay unique! Just imagine waking up to these views.... looking down on a beautiful Mexican city, steeped in history, and gazing over the mountains! And you are a 12 min walk to downtown!! Fresh air, light, nature and wonderful people all together. Note that the VRBO map is not correct! My Casa is located BELOW the Panoramica Blvd, not above it, so it is very close to the center of town ..And a 10 min walk to El Pipila statue. Book for nights or weeks, or for long-term rentals at discounted rates!! Walk a little or walk a lot... it is your choice with direct access, by the private front gate, to the city bus or taxi or the Pipila funicular is a short walk away. And you can drive your car up to this beautiful casa and unload your suitcases! Cook inside, BBQ on the roof or eat out in any of the fabulous restaurants within 10-15-minute walk. READ Reviews below for comments and insights from travelers like you! Please Check Calendar and rates below! And write with any questions! I am here to make your vacation to Guanajuato special.

Guanajuato is a stunning UNESCO World Heritage site, full of culture, history, 1600 & 1700-century architecture, museums (over 14!), captivating walks, beautiful outdoor spaces, and fantastic music everywhere! And, it is the capital of the state of Guanajuato!

This home is on two levels with the master bedroom and bath on the first level along with a full kitchen, dining room and living room. Downstairs are two additional rooms with equally nice views, a second bath and the laundry area. There are 2 Queen size and 1 Double bed that are complete with luxury linens and towels. Both bathrooms have walk-in showers and, of course stunning views! With all the views there is a lot of light shinning into every room - however if you like to sleep in sometimes.... All windows have both curtains and blackout-energy efficient drapes. Very handy if you want to rest longer or just keep some of the sun out of the home.

There are 40 private steps (some a a bit uneven- but there is a cement planter edge to hold on) to my home and private deck down from the Panoramica road. For your convenience, there is parking off street at the top of the steps. However the city centre is very easy to reach by foot with various paths, and degree of steepness to choose from. Some paths are more than 60 steep steps so, in general this city is hard to get around if you are not comfortable with steps!! One walking route takes you directly to El Pipila monument for important Guanajuato history and spectacular photo opportunities & then a 5 min funicular ride downtown. By another route you will be at Santo Café on the famous Cuesta del Tecolote & Campanero bridge in about 8 minutes!

Catering services are available upon request. My Mexican property managers, bilingual, and with a car and an SUV, if you would like to do some shopping or pick up friends! Long -term rental rates available - please ask!

Contact owner via email below for more information on this home, location and photos. ACH bank payment, M/O, and PayPal accepted!

About The Owner

This is a picture of me and my teenage son, who is now at the University in Colorado. And I am now living in Southern Spain! But, my heart is in Guanajuato.

The Owner purchased this house in 2010

Why The Owner chose Guanajuato

A fabulous city, warm, friendly people, and so much to see, experience and hear! There isn't that hectic feeling that you get in resort towns. And, in this city you can walk anywhere and everywhere so there is no need to rent a car to have a wonderful time. The food is just wonderful from the Mercado Hidalgo (oh! the fresh fruit!) to the fancy restaurants and all the places to go out at night for music or just to relax. These are just some of the reasons I fell in love with Guanajuato and its citizens. Also a great city to practice your español.

What makes this house unique

A great vacation in a wonderful climate! Views that are freeing!! You do not have to drive to enjoy all the sights and sounds of this historic city.

Beautiful house, wonderful view

  • 5 of 5

We already spent in this lovely house three weekends and we are always looking forward to spend some time more there. The house itself is really nice, comfortable and offering everything you need for your stay but honestly it does not matter because most of the time you will spend on the terrace that offers an amazing view to a city itself and it is something you can keep enjoying whole day and a little bit more. And as on the there is also a grill, you can make your stay longer until late night and still enjoying the view... another advantage is that from this house it takes you around 20 minutes walk and you are directly below in the center of the city. For those not walkers you can use a taxi, bus or funicular but the walk through those small streets is worth it. Also great thanks belongs to Cristobal who is something like a walking book of knowledge about what to see and visit not only in Guanajuato but also in the area around the city and always is ready to help you in case of anything... So, I will just repeat myself but we have really always enjoyed the stay and for this we would like to thank a lot to all involved

Even better than I expected!

  • 5 of 5

Everything was great, and I mean everything! The house is very comfortable and the view was an inspiration every day and night. We actually didn’t spend as much time in the house as I expected because there’s so much to see but it was certainly one of the best semana santa I can remember!

We thank Dena very much for having and recommending Cristobal, everyone in our group appreciated his honesty and his knowledge. He was a big plus to our trip.

Thank you very much for sharing your lovely home with us, I hope to come back in the future.

Great stay!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this for a full month and could not have been happier. Beautiful view. Very nice living quarters. Steep steps up and down, but that is part of Guanajuato's charm. Dena, the owner, is very pleasant to deal with and handled everything as described and promised. We recommend this for an unforgettable experience.

All expectations met

  • 5 of 5

We rented Casa Verde for the month of August 2013 and thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful month there. The house is warm and spacious and wonderfully laid out. We enjoyed the stairs but renters should be mindful of the need to take stairs everywhere. Situated atop a 400' hillside the house overlooks the city center directly below with its cathedrals, music and bustling life. All three bedrooms were good size with comfortable beds and beautiful views. The kitchen was well equipped and the overall ambiance was comfortable and welcoming which reflects the character of the owner Dena, her property managers and her gardener/housekeeper. In addition, Dena was exceptionally helpful in our pre-planning process with prompt and gracious responses. Our overall experience was excellent.

Vacaciones familiares en Guanajuato

  • 4 of 5

A perfect Mexican Village Experience

  • 5 of 5

Being in this beautiful house made me feel like part of an intimate village rather than a tourist on vacation. Perched on top of a high hill over the city, I experienced intimately the sights, sounds and smells of this enchanting place while in the comfort of a beautiful home. Every morning I did yoga on the roof top deck and had breakfast on the terrace outside the kitchen where hummingbirds would come to feast on the array of tropical flowers. Enjoying the town included traversing up and down the narrow passages and experiencing the culture and colorful architecture, taking the very inexpensive bus rides to all parts of the city, eating great food, listening to wonderful music and exploring the various museums and galleries. I have never visited a place where everyone seemed to be out experiencing life, enjoying each other and being generally happy. Music is everywhere. This really stands out in my experience.

One day I travelled by cab to Valenciana to the sports complex where I paid $60 pesos to swim by myself in a beautiful olympic size pool. If you go you need to bring a bathing cap and goggles but they were kind enough to lend it to me from the lost and found. I came with a friend who had a lot of work to do but I felt very comfortable exploring this town on my own and having meals with her when she was free. I can't wait to come back.

You are less than a 12 minute walk to the important Guanajuato landmark & monument El Pipila. El Pipila has a museum, shops and fantastic city views plus tons of history AND a funicular ride for 15 pesos - you can easily go up (back to the house) and down the hill (right downtown to the Jardin); it is a great alternative way to get home or downtown without walking down hill. And, of course there is great cardio exercise opportunities just walking the beautiful steps and historic streets!
