Every other year our family of 11 goes on a vacation together. Our family consists of my husband, myself, our two daughters, two son in laws and 5 grandchildren ranging in age from 4 to 12. The little crooked lake house provided the best vacation we have ever had. It was perfect. Our every need was provided for. Our grandchildren got up every morning and went to the beach immediately and stayed there until they were forced to come in. Because of the set up we were able to sit on the deck and watch them play. The dock provided the perfect boundary for the little ones.
We had the Banick family reunion in this area b/c everyone is from there originally. Of the 40+ people staying at another rental home and with family & friends, all gathered at this house for dinners and playing throu the week. It was AWESOME! This house was so perfect for large family gatherings b/c there is so much to do. In is house stayed 14 people with toddlers to grandparents.
Thank you for having your home open for others to enjoy the beauty of Sister Lakes.
Little Crooked Lake House is a Michigan get away dream! The house is comfortable with all of the amenities you need plus extras! Plenty of room for even a few families to relax together without feeling crowded. The yard and beach areas are spacious; grassy play area inside the fencing, a small sandy area for the little ones and a large shallow area that is ringed by the dock. The swim out to the raft is perfect for exercise as well as play! The 2 leveled porch is perfect for all sorts of relaxation. A nice picnic table with an umbrella on the sunny deck and a spacious covered area with a table. The covered deck is especially perfect for waiting out the rainstorms or escaping the sun for a while! The house is an easy walk to Driftwood and the Roller Rink. Sister Lakes is also an easy starting point to travel to South Haven, St. Joseph and Saugatuck.
The property is clean and well maintained, full house air conditioning is a plus. In addition, all the windows open if you prefer the cool night breezes!
We highly recommend Little Crooked Lake House! We're hoping to return next year!
This lake house is ideal for a summer vacation. We had 2 families, 5 children, and we had plenty of room and more! The house is set up perfectly for a get away and the updated bathrooms are a nice addition. The lake is clear and clean and makes for nice swimming and fishing! We also enjoyed walking, running and biking each morning from the house.
My extended family of 12 including 6 little ones ranging from 1 to 14 had a wonderful stay! The beach is sandy and clean and there is a nice shallow swimming area for the tots as well as a great swimming raft in deeper water for the bigger kids. We rented a pontoon boat from the marina up the street for the week and tied it to the pier and had nightly “booze cruises”. The kids also enjoyed using the paddle boat. The fire pit was wonderful and it was well stocked with firewood. The yard was kept clean and green and is fenced in (which was nice for Peaches the schnauzer). There’s an antique soda cooler on the deck that we used to store all of our beverages leaving the refrigerator for food. The deck is covered by a huge awning which allowed us to sit outside the one day it did rain. There’s a giant gas grill (six burners I think) which was nice for cooking large meals. Inside was fun at night as we sang karaoke on the karaoke machine and the kids used the Game Cube system. The bedrooms were comfortable and the A/C worked fine. The two full bathrooms are in excellent condition and it looks like the one on the first floor was recently remodeled with a lovely tiled walk in shower.
There’s a quaint little ice cream shop walking distance from the house that has arcade games and souvenirs as well as a roller skating rink and bowling alley. There’s a grocery store about a mile away as well.
It was a great vacation and we plan to rent again!
