Antigua Highlands was selected by an airline Captain who had traveled the world for its beautiful view of one of the 'Best Beaches in the World' (CondeNast and others), Half Moon Bay. All villa rooms are ocean view. Two large bedrooms with en suite baths both open up on to roofed veranda with ocean views. A Full kitchen opens up to provide an ocean view bar. The villa's stone work was done by a Master Antiguan Mason recognized nationally for his craft. The stone BBQ is set next to an additional outdoor roofed dining area. The villa is maintained beautifully by a staff of gardener and housekeeper who provide fresh flowers and clean laundry included in your stay. Enjoy Caribbean lunches at Harrys Beach Bar next to Half Moon Bay Beach. Beautiful snorkeling and an almost empty mile long beach await you. This is the Caribbean that few get to experience. Our villa is now managed by the Captains son who is an award winning Hotelier. Our villa is underpriced because we prefer it to be occupied and enjoyed. Many return guests have left testimonials which we are happy to share.

Alan Fairbair purchased this villa in 1972
Antigua Highlands has the best view of of one of the best beaches in the world, Half Moon Bay Antigua. It was the first lot purchased for its location.
Fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean and tree frogs while being caressed by beautiful ocean breezes.
We are staying at Highlands at the moment and loving it. All good . Thank you so much !! And are discussing already about 2017!
I recently returned from a week here and already can't wait until I'm able to go back! This villa is truly a piece of paradise. The home and especially the view are much better in person. I was blown away by the location of this villa. It's perfectly situated for an unbelievable view of Half Moon Bay. After a quick stop at the grocery store on our way, we found that the home had everything we needed. Elorene, the housekeeper, keeps this home immaculate and she is so kind!
The beach was a quick 2 minute drive down the road and it was nearly empty all of the time. We were able to find shade every day and relax in beach chairs which were wonderful to have. Both of the beach bars were delicious and you will receive friendly, speedy service if you mention where you are staying. There were 4 beach chairs at the home which were great to have access to.
This was a first time trip to Antigua for all 4 people. I honestly believe we made the best choice staying here. Every other beach we drove to was crowded and full of vendors. Half Moon Bay is so secluded that on its busiest day of our week there, there were maybe 10 other people on the entire beach.
I cannot say enough good words about this villa! I had the best vacation of my life and cannot thank Alan enough.
We stayed in the fall of last year and the weather was extremely warm. The locals said it was a heat wave. The house is clean and the housekeeper was very nice and helpful. The kitchen and the bathroom were fully functional but out dated. The sheets and towels were nice. The kitchen had a new fridge but the stove was was not a recent model. The view from the deck overlooking the bay was fabulous and we spent many evenings there. The outdoor BBQ and sitting area are also very nice. There was a sea weed problem when we where there so we could not swim on the bay. So we drove each day to a beach. This was ok because we could not wait to get in the car each day because it was air conditioned, the house is not. We were told there were beach chairs, however they were rusted and we could not use them. We found that for us this property was too remote and we would look for something closer to Jolly Harbour area.
I would like to thanks Alan and his wife for sharing their home with us. The home is about 30 minutes from the airport. We rented a car from Dollar rent a car (great sevice and brand new suv) and it was very easy to drive on the island. There are multiple grocery stores on the way, we decided to stop at the Epicurian in St Johns. You will find everything you need at that store. There are also many banks with instant teller machines around that area.
The drive to Antigua Highlands is very nice. Antiguans are very courteous on the road. as you arrive at the villa the view is just amazing. We were welcomed by Elerene, the house keeper. She is so nice and she made ourselves feel at home right away. She came to the home everyday to make sure everything was fine and she even did our laundry. The home is big, very clean, fully equipped, comfortable, lots of space to move around, very high ceiling and so beautiful. They have a front patio with a BBq and chairs and a large table. In the backyard, which is facing the ocean, there is a large deck with a spectacular view of Half Moon Bay. This beach is quiet, clean and the water so clear. You can either enjoy the big waves or move to the extreme corners of the beach where the sand is like powder and the water is calm with no waves. There is a reef barrier making those parts of the beach very popular. There is a restaurant/bar on the beach ran by Smiling Harry. It is good but the service very slow, 45 minutes for 5 hot dogs seems long for me. Most of the meals were spent at the home anyway, it is so convenient. At night, we enjoyed the background noise from the wind and the waves. No loud music or screaming like that you find at different resorts. The internet and the cable TV works great. Our family voted to go back again. We felt safe and at home right away. This is by far one of the best home that I have rented in the carribean.
This was our first trip to Antigua, we've been to many other islands, and we were excited to explore a new island. We had heard of Half Moon Bay from other travelers we've met and were thrilled to find a Villa for rent at a price that we could afford.
We rented a car at the airport and after a short trip to town for food and drink we were on our way to Half Moon Bay. The trip was about 30 minutes and along the way my wife took note of the places that we would like to pay a visit during our vacation.
We were greeted by the friendly staff of the villa and given the cooks tour. Everything was sweet and simple. As it was getting a bit late we rushed down to the beach to take a short swim after our long journey. The water was just delicious, I thought that we were in heaven. What a stress releif that short swim was. This place was exactly as we were told.
On the way back to our villa we stopped for a quick drink at Harry's beach bar. We met Harry and a couple other tourists, had a terrific rum punch and went back up to the villa to get our dinner ready.
The staff had the charcoal grill ready to be fired up, so we got it going and cooked up a couple of steaks. After dinner we sat out on the porch, listened to the sounds of the ocean waves, and gazed up at the star filled night sky. There were an incredible array of stars and constellations.
We were at the beach early almost every day. Our sunrise walk on the beach really got us in a terrific frame of mind and ready for the days adventures. Lunch was always great at Harry's. Lots of good local food and chatter with the locals. It was very interesting to hear what they thought of their government and ours.
We found several excellent restaurants within a 15 minute drive. I must recommend you try their fresh local fish. My wife, being a shopper type, dragged me into town with her to check out the local wares. St. Johns is a busseling little city with everything you are used to having at home. On the way back from town we stopped at Shirley Heights to have dinner and listen to the steel bands. One of the most incredible sunsets I have ever seen.
Our trip went by so fast. While we were waiting at the airport we made reservations for two weeks the same time next year. Without hesitation I can highly recommend this beautiful little villa at Half Moon Bay. The staff was great, the villa was always clean and showered with fresh flowers. Just don't try to reserve the 1st two weeks in July, They are ours!
One of the best views of the ocean we have ever seen from our wrap around patio and a uncrowded pristine beach. This is what paradise is all about. We enjoyed our stay immensely and got the most relaxing time of our lives. The home staff were wonderful and created a warmth we certainly embraced. We will be back!
