Overview

About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

Take a step back from the hectic pace of everyday life. Relax in comfort in our beautiful home in one of the few remaining coastal areas with the atmosphere of 'Old Florida' . Take a dip in our private screened pool, or choose from many different activities. Better yet, just kick back and let the tension drain away.

The Charlotte Harbor area is one of the best inshore fishing areas to be found for Snook, Redfish, Trout, and of course Tarpon. (Boca Grande Pass is only minutes away!) The 10,000 lbs. boat lift makes it easy to use your boat, and maybe catch some dinner! In addition to fishing, you can enjoy bird watching, kayaking, golf, arts and crafts, shopping, bicycling, restaurants, and more! If you don't have a boat, you can catch fish right from the dock, or take our canoe and explore Jugg Creek.

You will fall in love with this area, just as we did, so give us a call!

Notes:
New 10,000 lb boat lift on the best wide and deep canal on Pine Island. Two minutes from the Shell Cut entrance to Charlotte Harbor, 10 minutes from Boca Grande Pass and Cayo Costa, with it's beautiful unspoiled beaches, seen the same way the first explorers saw them. Boca Grande Pass is the Tarpon capitol of the world, and there are numerous areas in Charlotte Harbor famous for Snook, Redfish, and many other species.

Property has great potential, BUT srveral issues must be resolved.

  • 2 of 5

The house is in a great location, was generally clean and decorated nicely. BUT, the ice maker does not work, Dishwasher does not work, cleaning cycle did not run, food from the last cycle is distributed onto dishes. Master bath shower would not drain properly, water filled the shower floor two inches deep during shower. The garage ceiling has a large water stain and hole in the drywall from past water leaks (probably from the shower drain) Master bath sink has hot and cold faucets reversed. Both bedroom beds are very hard and the queen bed has an indentation you roll into. Light bulbs were out and no extra bulbs were provided. The boat lift would be great but was so loud during operation that the neighbors next door and across the canal came out with their hands covering their ears! Someone must have come while we were out fishing and worked on the lift because during our last day the lift operated properly with minimal noise. If these problems had not existed, our stay would have been very nice.

I am not new to proper rental unit maintenance having been a Community Association Manager for over 20 years and handled all maintenance issues during that time. I am now retired.

Perfect Island home

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from a spring break visit and truly enjoyed staying at this home. The layout of the home was great for my husband and I plus older sons. We loved the upstairs porch, screened in pool and boat lift. The garage and lanai downstairs were great places to store our boating gear, grilling out and just enjoying the canal view and birds. The kitchen was well equipped and the location of the home was convenient to all waterways, restaurants and nature.

Paradise Home

We had a great time. We spent a lot of that time on the upper deck overlooking the pool and boat launch. Pelicans and other birds would land. The weather was wonderful in the low 80s in the day and dropping into the 50s at night. Unfortunately, it made the pool too cool to swim in. We appreciated the kitchen having all the tools to do the cooking as well as the cleanness and decor.

I love the pool as it provides a great place to be together as a family. North end location great for kayaking and boating.

great location

  • 4 of 5

The location was key for us. The boat lift is a feature that made our trip excellent. There are only a few things that I would want the owners to know...there were a few maintenance issues that could be easily fixed. The stove light was broken, the garage opening mechanism was very noisy, also the boat lift, the washer became easily unbalanced while in spin cycle. There was half a roll of toilet paper in each bathroom when we arrived. Not normally an issue but did not get to the store til the next day. Did not know what light switches worked for what or if they worked at all. could not get den and master ceiling fan to come on. I just think a little maintenance would be beneficial. Did not need the doorbell but it is obviously broken as well. I hate to see such a nice home left without tender loving care. Other than those few things...it was a great place. We left plenty of toilet paper for the next guests.

Gorgeous location & Great Weather!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at this Bokeelia home... the accomodations were clean, comfortable and relaxing. We spent a lot of time on the water with our kayaks and rental boat. Perfect location for fishing and enjoying the wildlife. There were tons of birds including Eagles, Osprey, herons and pelicans. We also caught a large number (and diverse collection) of fish in the nearby waters. Stores and marinas are only a few min ride and there are plenty of dining spots all over the island. The boys enjoyed the pool and chasing the little lizards that lived in the bushes. The laundry facilities, clean kitchen and attached garage made us feel right at home. This was my first time using a VRBO rental... and the process was easy & convenient... and the owners provided fast communication. I highly recommend this home and we will definitely return in years to come!
