126 year old Historic cottage located on Harsens Island with breathtaking views of the South Channel of Lake St. Clair.
Very spacious property with plenty of room to BBQ, fish, swim, boat and much more. Enjoy your afternoon sitting under the shade tree or on the indoor porch watching the activities of the South Channel. The cottage is located near Muskamoot Bay where there is plenty of shallow swimming in warm waters or you can simply enjoy the water by jumping into the cool waters of the Lake St Clair right out the front door. The cottage has a kitchen, living room, dining room, front porch, laundry room, and four spacious bedrooms on the second floor, and a newly built Al Fresco Shower!

Our family has owned property on Harsens Island for over forty years. My husband and I both spent time on the Island as children. We now have children of our own and love spending time with them on the island. Taking morning walks to Walkers Landing for sweet summer treats, biking to the circle for great views of the Bay, or just ordering Pizza from Riverside Grille.
Jennifer purchased this cottage in 1999
The Island and our property offer many great summer activities, swimming in the lake or bay, fishing, duck hunting, boating, kayaking, bon fires, biking, and walking.
Zen place, perfect for fishing and contemplation! Very clean, and Jennifer was really flexible. Had a blast!
This is it! This is the spot! Beautiful and charming cottage. Jennifer made it super easy for us. Preparing us before we got there and letting us know what we would need and what to expect when we arrived. The communications with her were so easy that we had a great feeling before we got there. She let us know that she was just a phone call away if we needed anything during our stay.
When you walk in the door you know you have made a great decision. The cottage is clean and decorated as an island cottage should be. Cute and cozy. The cottage is alot bigger than it looks from the photos. Also, very, very clean. I was amazed how a place as old as this could be so well maintained and so perfect. When we walked in to the upstairs bedroom, the sheen drapes were blowing in the wind, and looking out the windows, the river seemed so close. It was almost as if it was staged.
We went right to the dock on the river and spent the time hanging out and jumping into the nice cool water. There is a ladder right on the seawall to make sure the exit from the channel is easy as can be. We spent nights grilling and hanging out by the two fire pits. The outdoor enclosed shower was a great surprise. Taking a nice cool shower outside after swimming and running around all day was a really cool experience. It also was great to sit on the dock and watch all the different boats cruising by. I feel like we found a true gem on the island. I am counting the days till we can come back and visit my family's new favorite place.
Thank you Jennifer for maintaining that beautiful cottage as well as you have and for sharing it with our family.
Love this comfortable home. This was our third time staying here and once again it was an amazing vacation for our family. Eleven of us, including 5 children and 6 adults were all sorry to leave it when our time ended. My granddaughter aged 11 caught the largest fish, an 18 inch Muskie. Everyone loved jumping off the deck into the water. We are all anxious to do it again in the near future.
We love staying here very much. Comfortable, private, homey. Owner is great to work with, too.
Nice cottage, great location. We enjoyed the lagoon on the side of the cottage that is only shared with one neighbor, perfect for floating around with a cocktail! The views can't be beat, this location gives the "up north" feel without spending hours on the road.
Traveled from Cincinnati Ohio to fish one of the best small mouth bass lakes in the nation. Chose this cottage by viewing pictures and reviews on VRBO. How lucky was my family? This place was amazing. What a beautifully kept home. Lots to do. We fished, rode bikes, and had a fire. Well stocked kitchen which we made a home made blueberry pie in! So relaxing. It was truly serene to take a shower outdoor at dusk looking at the moon and stars beginning to appear in the evening sky. Thanks so much Jennifer!
