Very spacious property with plenty of room to BBQ, fish, swim, boat and much more. Enjoy your afternoon sitting under the shade tree or on the indoor porch watching the activities of the South Channel. The cottage is located near Muskamoot Bay where there is plenty of shallow swimming in warm waters or you can simply enjoy the water by jumping into the cool waters of the Lake St Clair right out the front door. The cottage has a kitchen, living room, dining room, front porch, laundry room, and four spacious bedrooms on the second floor, and a newly built Al Fresco Shower!

Our family has owned property on Harsens Island for over forty years. My husband and I both spent time on the Island as children. We now have children of our own and love spending time with them on the island. Taking morning walks to Walkers Landing for sweet summer treats, biking to the circle for great views of the Bay, or just ordering Pizza from Riverside Grille.
Jennifer purchased this cottage in 1999
The Island and our property offer many great summer activities, swimming in the lake or bay, fishing, duck hunting, boating, kayaking, bon fires, biking, and walking.
Love this comfortable home. This was our third time staying here and once again it was an amazing vacation for our family. Eleven of us, including 5 children and 6 adults were all sorry to leave it when our time ended. My granddaughter aged 11 caught the largest fish, an 18 inch Muskie. Everyone loved jumping off the deck into the water. We are all anxious to do it again in the near future.
Nice cottage, great location. We enjoyed the lagoon on the side of the cottage that is only shared with one neighbor, perfect for floating around with a cocktail! The views can't be beat, this location gives the "up north" feel without spending hours on the road.
Traveled from Cincinnati Ohio to fish one of the best small mouth bass lakes in the nation. Chose this cottage by viewing pictures and reviews on VRBO. How lucky was my family? This place was amazing. What a beautifully kept home. Lots to do. We fished, rode bikes, and had a fire. Well stocked kitchen which we made a home made blueberry pie in! So relaxing. It was truly serene to take a shower outdoor at dusk looking at the moon and stars beginning to appear in the evening sky. Thanks so much Jennifer!
My wife and I were here for a Memorial Weekend getaway with some friends and family. I had stayed at this cottage 3 summers ago when a friend came out for a Harsens Island wedding and I was super excited to stay there again. The cottage as I remembered was quite charming, and had the same feel of a cottage I grew up on, but this time around I was left lacking. I was expecting and older cottage feel, but what we got was a house in need of serious spring cleaning. We found no less than 15 dead hornets on the floors, and our friend actually got stung by a dead hornet that had landed and died in between the couch cushion. The driveway was littered with goose droppings where you had to be very careful where to step, the furniture was stained from what it looked like many a summer's use, the grass was EXTREMELY long (mid shin) and there were snakes that lived on the dock. On my last visit, the best part of the place was the nice dock that you could jump off of into the river, watch a nice sunset, or wake up with a cup of coffee watching the boats go by, but this time we found a nest of snakes (we counted 5 3-5ft Fox Snakes according to the neighbors) living in the deck beams. They covered the deck seating area and we were slightly petrified of walking around the yard since the grass was so long and you couldn't see the snakes. Having come into the weekend with such high expectations and fond memories of a previous trip, I was really upset at what we ended up paying for and got in return. We had reserved the place through Memorial Day Night, but ended up leaving early since we couldn't use the dock. This place could be great, but not in the condition is was in when we were there.
Wonderful, family-friendly cottage. We had a ball! Planning for next year.
We have rented many, many cottages over the years, and this cottage was my favorite. The cottage is adorable and spacious, perfect for a small group to relax and visit together at the lake. We were a group of six, aunts, nieces, and great nieces, coming from California, Florida, and Michigan. Everyone got their own bed. Clean, comfortable, relaxing, great swimming. There is a wonderful shade tree so you can sit in the comfortable chairs and watch the boats go by with a nice lake breeze. Best of all, no spiders in and around the cottage! They must spray. I was ready to be brave because lake cottage usually means big spiders. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals and even do some baking with the kids. So nice to find a dog-friendly cottage so the family dog can have a vacation, too.
The owner was very easy to work with, and we are planning our return for next summer!
