Welcome to EKO Farm in the heart of Waimea town. We are a native Hawaiian owned and operated business. Our farm of five acres is diversified with a field of protea flowers, citrus and fruit orchard, koa tree forest and vegetable garden, all grown organically. Our flock of pasture raised hens provide us with fresh eggs. Our goal is to grow as much of our own food as we can sustainably and responsibly. Our flowers and extra produce are sold locally at the Waimea Homestead Farmers Market on Saturdays where you will find every type of produce to stock your pantry. We live in a home on the property and would be happy to help make your stay a memorable one. We also offer farm stay work opportunities. Please inquire for details.

Owner Tommy was born and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii. My wife, Micci, and I have been living in Waimea since 1983. I'm a retired police officer of 28 years. We love to garden and travel in our free time. We also love to swim and kayak at the best beaches twenty minutes from our farm.
The Owner purchased this house in 1988
After living in Hilo for 30 years, I wanted to see what it was like to live in Waimea. My Hawaiian heritage is from Waimea and it has always been a special place to me. We love growing flowers and organic fruits and vegetables.
Beach gear is available. . Guest are provided with a welcome basket of coffee, fresh flowers and our famous homemade jams.
Super comfy bungalow on a lush green farm with flowers, fruit trees, and chickens and sheep. The home is beautifully equipped with a big flat screen tv and washer & dryer. It sits a few minutes from town on the edge of the lush rolling meadows in Paniolo country. Wonderful front porch complete with cute chameleons. Cool nights and warm days. Tommy & Micci are warm and friendly hosts. This is a great base camp to explore the north coast, Pololu Valley & Mauna Loa. Hapuna Beach & Puako are 20 minutes away for great snorkeling & body boarding. Plus, in town are great meals at Merrimans and Red Water. Great stay!
The house is just as described. It is very well maintained and a comfortable place to come home to at the end of the day. We enjoyed having a full kitchen and washer/dryer at our disposal. The large porch was a great place to enjoy coffee and feel the warmth of the sun in the morning. It was even better when the resident kitty came to visit us. Waimea is a great town. The weather is cool at night. The best farmer's markets on the island are there. Go hungry and eat some of the local food. The property is in a great location for visiting the north parts of the big island. You are close enough for easy day trips to Mauna Kea, Hapuna Beach, downtown Kona, the Kona coffee heritage district and snorkeling in Captain Cook. Make sure you stop by the local Donkey Ball store for some tasty chocolate and great coffee while you are out that way; it's fun.
Micca and Tommy are the ultimate hosts. They were available when we needed them, answered all of our many questions while giving us all the space we wanted. It was especially nice of Tommy to stand outside on the street to help guide us to the property when we arrived in the dark. We also appreciated the basket of fruit, home made jam, and box of chocolates left in the kitchen for us. What a nice touch!
We had our own two bedroom, two bath cottage with all the essential needs and more. Micci and Tommy are not only the nicest, most accommodating hosts but also genuinely welcoming and lots of fun. We hope to have a longstanding friendship with these fine people. Their flower farm peaceful, private, and lush with flowers, fruit trees, pheasants, a fat chicken, goats and acres to wander. We hope to return soon.
Spent a great week on Tommy and Micci's farm. Great accomodations, great hospitality, in a great location. Mahalo for the great experience.
My daughters and I stayed at Eko Farm cottage for 6 weeks. We Had a great experience there. The cottage is very clean, comfortable and cozy. Tommy and Micci are very sweet people to talk to and they are very helpful. Micci's strawberry jam is so good and their eggs are delicious. The cottage is located in the center of the Kamuela town (but very peaceful and great view of Mauna Kea) that short drive to the shopping center, farmer's market and great Waimea playground.
We cooked all our meals at home. The kitchen has everything you need. It was perfect for my family to stay for the summer. Ou daughters enjoyed playing with their dogs every afternoon running around the farm. After staying at Eko farms for 6 weeks, we feel like we are Local. Tommy And Micci, thank you for your hospitality!!! Hopefully, we will see you again next summer... We miss being there already...
We stayed for just two nites in mid-April to kick off our two week tour of the island. We wish we had stayed in Waimea and at the Eko farm a bit longer. The other reviews here are spot on--you are met at this beautiful farm just a mile or two from town by Tom and Micci with nothing but Aloha, and the fully equipped and clean cottage is stocked with jam and coffee and some fresh eggs, and fresh flowers abound, The hosts also left us some amazing fresh fruit. We ate it all! The bird song in the morning (roosters included!) was just incredible. We loved having a cup of coffee and an early morning walk around the farm. The cottage has everything you might need and more and we felt it more a small home than a vacation rental. Waimea (Kamuela) is also simply beautiful, and just a short (20-30 minute drive) from some of the best beaches on the island. Also within an easy drive are Hawi and the Pololu Valley and the Waipio Valley, all well worth a visit. We would definitely stay here again (for more than two nites!) on any future excursions to the big island.
Explore historic Waimea town, home of the Paniolo Hawaiian Cowboy. Enjoy seasonal fruits and vegetables from our garden, visit local Farmers Markets. Beautiful scenic views of Mauna Kea Mountain. Minutes from must see Hapuna Beach State Park and other great beaches. Day trip to famous Waipi'o and Pololu Valleys or visit active Kilauea Volcano.
