The Lake is Beautiful!!
We had a great 3-day getaway from the hustle and bustle of our work schedules. Brewer Lake is absolutely beautiful and quiet. There were not a ton of boats around and it was so peaceful. The cabin is located just a short walk to the shore, across a dirt road that is accessed by only a few cars a day. When you get to the shore, there is a deck area with a small table and grill so you can cook out on the shore. The fire pit down by the shore is wonderful, although we had gotten heavy rains a few days before so the wood supply was extremely wet and hard to have a fire. There are two kayaks and a paddle boat you can use. Even though there are other properties on the dead-end street, you do have a bit of a privacy feeling here. We paddled around the lake quite a bit and from what I can tell, this property has one of the very few beach areas - most of the properties are very rocky. However, if you want to wade out in the water, you should plan on wearing water shoes as there are lots of rocks. It's great that you can walk out a long distance before the water gets too deep. The cabin had everything we needed including a full kitchen with plenty of pots, pans, and necessities. There is a full bathroom and two bedrooms and good space. A good selection of board games and DVDs kept us busy during a couple of rainy evenings. The cabin is rustic and somewhat dated but for the price, it served our needs very well and represents a true Maine lakeside experience. We had a super time and would consider returning in the future. Delores is a wonderful host and meets you right at the property and shows you around and answers any questions you may have. Thanks, Delores and John for sharing your lovely place!
It was, absolutely amazing. Totally relaxing peaceful and beautiful. The lake was clear and clean and the view of the mountains was the best to wake to everyday. And beautiful sunsets every night. A great place for families to spend quality time together. Everything you need is there! I can't wait to go back and I've already recommended it to several people. I can't say enough about how beautiful relaxing and peaceful it was.
We had a wonderful time. The cabin was older, but it had everything you could need. The lake and kayaks were great for the kids. They loved the beach but remember your water shoes! Could use a new pull out couch. The one was great but the other wasn't. We had a wonderful time. The area is great with lots of stuff to do. Would go back in a heart beat!
Cute cabin on Brewer Lake. This is the perfect location! Private beach where you can walk out quite far before the water is over your head. Listen to the loons on the large deck by the water. We love this place!
Secluded Maine Beauty!
The secluded and private lakefront is definitely the star of this property! Our family enjoyed relaxing on the beach, using the kayaks and pedal boat that were provided, and making s'mores in the firepit after watching the sun set. The lakeside grill and large deck created the perfect spot for some outdoor dinners. (And NO bugs!) We found the lake to be clear and clean, with some fish waiting to be caught! Our family of four had enough space in the house, and we appreciated the air conditioning and wifi. We brought along our Roku, which worked with the tv in the living room so that we could watch movies in the evenings, though there is a great selection of DVDs. There is a step up and down from the kitchen and bathroom which took a little getting used to. As wonderfully remote as this camp feels, there is a Walmart only 20 minutes away for anything that you may need. We made a day trip into Bar Harbor and Mt. Desert Island to see the beautiful coast. Overall, this property provided a very relaxing and outdoor-oriented vacation for my family, and we sincerely appreciated that the owners allowed us to bring our four-legged "kids" along as well. Our Labrador thought she was in heaven! I would have loved to stay another week myself; it was that relaxing. Thank you, John and Dolores, for making this very special place on the lake available to us. We definitely hope to return someday!
We have spent two weeks at this camp, every summer, for the past 13 years. It's the best two weeks of the year. I grew up in Bangor, but since moved away. We come back every year. We have family and friends out to visit us so we don't have to run to everyone's house. This is the most beautiful, peaceful, relaxing spot to be. The camp is large enough to have people over. The two couches pull out into sleepers, there are two beds in one room and a queen bed in the other. I love the open floor plan. The kitchen has glasses, plates, silverware, and pretty much anything you would need to cook with. There's a gas grill to cook out on the beautiful evenings. There is a lovely large deck by the water. They keep chairs for people to sit around and there is a bench around it to sit. It's the perfect spot to read or sit and talk with family and friends, while still being able to watch the kids play in the water, or fish off the dock. The beach is wonderful. Large enough to put out lawn chairs to lay in the sun, and for the kids to play in the sand. The walk in to the lake is gradual so you can walk out a far way. Great for kids, and those of us that just like to stand in the water to cool off. They have kayaks to take around the lake and explore. There's also a paddle boat. Always fun for the kids! Life jackets are in the bin on deck. The water is just a short walk down the stairs. We love it here! John and Dolores are wonderful. They are easy to reach if you have any questions. Thank you, as always, for allowing us to enjoy camp every summer. Looking for to this summer!
We thank you for your response it's great. It is also great to see you when you come . YOU ALSO HAVE BECOME GREAT FRIENDS. It's good to hear from you a few times during the year also. We could not ask for better guest's. Looking forward to seeing you this summer. Dolores & John
