Located in the south-eastern Pocono Mountains in a community called Indian Mountain Lakes, close to four major ski resorts. It’s just a close drive to Big Boulder, twenty minutes to Jack Frost and just twenty five minutes to Camelback. Less then two hours from either New York City or Philadelphia.
Indian Mountain Lakes is an amenity filled community with five lakes, some with sand beaches, two swimming pools, basketball and tennis courts and playgrounds. You can also bring your fishing rods and enjoy fishing at our two stocked lakes. These amenities are included. For our winter guests you can enjoy skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing just minutes away at Big Boulder 15 minutes, Jack Frost 25 minutes, Camelback 35 minutes. For our spring, summer, and fall guests you can enjoy some of the finest golf courses the poconos have to offer within minutes. Split Rock Golf Club and Jack Frost National Golf Club 25 minutes, Hideaway Hills Golf Club 30 minutes, and Mount Airy Golf Club 35 minutes. Pocono Whitewater Rafting, Skirmish Paintball, horseback riding, hiking in State Parks, two Water Parks and many more are nearby. Cozy chalet has a good stocked kitchen and wireless internet connection.
Both bedrooms have queen size beds with twins up in the loft. Loft has a bedroom door for privacy.
Backyard has two decks with a hammock for those lazy summer days. As well as a propane BBQ and outdoor seating. And a HOT TUB. Along with a fire pit for toasting marshmallows..
Used to go to shore as a kid. Back in the mid 80's my parents bought a place in the Poconos and our vacations were now up there. Was a big adjustment but come to love the area. So much to do, 4 seasons of fun. Now I actually prefer the Poconos to the Jersey shore. Less crowds, no traffic. Just peace and quiet.
Craig V purchased this chalet in 2012
Just fell in love with this house from the start. The fireplace is just awesome, love the character and the wood paneling. Very cozy perfect size for a small group or family. Brought from the original owners who built the house. Was in their family for 50+ yrs. The community is gated and safe. House is close to main swimming beach and basketball court.
My husband, another couple and I had a great stay at the Cozy Caddo Cottage. We loved the hot tub, the cozy atmosphere and the cleanliness. I wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy all the amenities that came with staying in the development. We did take the canoe out for a quick row around the little island on Indian Mountain Lake. If you are looking to have a relaxing time with a small group, this place is perfect. There are decent restaurants nearby to eat out and take out (we did both). Craig gave us tons of details to make our stay wonderful.
One note is that you will have to provide your own sheets and towels. Also there is no AC but opening up windows and using fans with the cool Pocono air makes it a very comfortable temperature.
We were a late booking for this wonderful cottage, and the owner could not have been more helpful in making arrangements for our stay. The cottage is perfect for a getaway for a small crowd (it was two of us, so a two bedroom was perfect). In a secluded yet secure community, with great accomodations (pool, lakes, tennis canoeing/kayaking are all available). Thew cottage itself was clean and user-friendly - we greatly enjoyed the back deck gas grill and the large hot tub was a pleasure to close out each day, and we also had much fun with the fire pit. There is a good amount of wildlife in the area - we saw plenty of deer and chipmunks - but the highlight was a visit by Mr. Black Bear one morning as I sat on the deck enjoying a cup of coffee.
The cottage had everything we needed, and a large supermarket was a 10 minute ride down the road to get everything we needed for our stay.
I saw in one review someone made a slightly neg comment about the beds - I found them more than comfortable enough.
Among the things we wanted to do on our mini-vacation was hit Camel Beach (PA's largest waterpark) for a day, as well as hike Hickory Run State Park (and see some waterfalls and the legendary Boulder Field) - both our day trips were within an easy 20-25 minute drive.
Had great communication, and easy to follow instructions from the cottage owner - really appreciated that.
One key note - I could not find the property in Apple Maps (when I put in the address, it came up with a property much further away) - Google Maps however was perfect, and got us exactly to where we were going with the easiest route, and also helped us with going and coming back for all our day trips. Def use Google Maps if you are trying to locate this property.
Will definitely return. Had a fantastic time at the perfect (for us) cottage.
Great place for a group of friends in terms of bedrooms, perfect size, amenities and location!
The house was PERFECT. Beautiful and cozy. Perfect for small groups. During our stay it rained, so we weren't able to enjoy all the amenities or the areas near by, but the house was wonderful to stay inside light a fire and just relax. We had a wonderful time (4 women, for girls getaway) we are looking forward to booking here again. Craig was wonderful to deal with. Very professional and helpful. Wonderful home, and great experience. Thank you for everything Craig!
This was our second time staying here. This is a great little house for a small family or a couple. It's cozy, has a great fireplace and a hot tub out back. Craig is very responsive!
The cabin was perfect for two adult couples for the weekend. We loved having an indoor fire all weekend (there is an outdoor fire place, too), and very much enjoyed the outdoor hot tub! The kitchen was well stocked and easy to cook in. Overall the property was very well maintained. Craig was responsive and friendly to communicate with--excellent customer service! We would definitely go back, especially in the summer when we could better take advantage of proximity to the beautiful lake and outdoor areas.
