Gorgeous location, perfect space for a crowd

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in Moclips! The location was perfect for razor clamming, having kids on the beach, and just gazing at the ocean. Relatively well-equipped kitchen for a rental, too. We found it perfect for 3 families with kids.

A spacious well-appointed family home on the beach

  • 5 of 5

We had a fabulous stay. We have been taking this sort of family holiday with our adult children and growing number of grandchildren for the past 10 years in various beach locations. Your house is by far the best accommodation. There was room for everyone and a place for the kids to hang out…not to mention the adult ping pong tournament. The kitchen was so well appointed and it made cooking meals a dream. We loved all the windows and the light they provided.

And we had weather! Major rain and wind storms. But also glorious sunny days as well. Saturday was unbelievably mild for the opening of clam season. It was fun to watch the action in front of the house.

And of course the magical fort and zip line built by your neighbor. The children had a wonderful time playing on it under his guidance.

We did stop by Humdingers on the way back as recommended..and you are right…the best milkshakes ever!

Thanks again for giving us the opportunity to say at your wonderful beach home. Awesome.

Wonderful Views, Great Property

  • 5 of 5

Six of us rented this house over Christmas. The views from the house and ease of beach access were even better than we'd hoped from the photos. We enjoyed watching the ocean and beach from the main living level, the kitchen had plenty of room for several of us to cook meals together while everyone else enjoyed the comfortable great-room. The large main-floor master was wonderful. It was very cold when we were there and we were all adults so we didn't take advantage of some of the outdoor amenities like the big deck, bicycles, outdoor shower, or the rec-room garage conversion. Everyone said their beds were comfortable. There had been an area power outage the day before we arrived, but the local contact and property manager both responded to our questions right away, even though it was early evening on Christmas Eve - very nice!

Great place for a crowd

  • 5 of 5

Easy close beach access, lots of room, well stocked kitchen, lots of towels, and huge dining room table all contributed to our pleasant stay. All eight adults had plenty to do between the ping pong table, wii, games, tv, hot tub, bikes, and great walks on the beach. You may want to bring extra coffee filters and coffee though, and be sure to run dishwasher on pots and pans mode to ensure dishes get clean. Angela was easy to work with and replied to all emails very promptly. Thanks for a great stay.

Lovely amenities in a lovely location

  • 4 of 5

The house is great, and the location couldn't be better. It was easy to work with the owners, and while you're never really sure how well stocked the kitchen will be in these kinds of places, this one was quite nice, and even had decent pans and knives! The only downside to mention is that it wasn't clear (to us) that the "rec room" should probably be more accurately called "the garage", and of the 4 queen beds, one is in there. As that's where the bikes are also stored, there is a bit of a musty odor in that room. And another queen bed is in the downstairs living room which connects most bedrooms to the house - not a private place at all. But if you don't need those beds or don't care about those things, then there are no downsides for you. :)

GREAT beach access.

There were certainly enough dishes, glassware & silverware which was nice.

Lots and lots of clean linens and towels - a huge PLUS!

A bit shy with the laundry and dishwasher detergent.

There were a total of six beach-cruiser bikes, of which two were ride-able (others were missing chains, inflated tires, or were rusted). Just a small investment in maintenance by owners would be nice as it appears prior guests weren't held accountable for not following established rules for bike use.

WARNING: Make very sure the Parental Controls are on before you let the younger ones flip channels on the TV's as there was a wide variety of adult-themed channels available for the viewing - just reading the titles of the shows available to watch on the screen was problematic.

All in all, quite adequate and I would refer to a friend.

Map

Finding Sunset Beach House is easy. Leaving is difficult.

Here is a map and easy directions from Interstate 5 in Tacoma.

In Olympia, bear Right, off of I-5 South, onto Highway 101 North.

After about five miles, bear West onto SR-8.

About 20 miles later, near Elma, SR-8 becomes US highway 12.

20 more miles and you come to Aberdeen. Continue through to Hoquiam.

From Hoquiam, head North on Highway 101 for about five miles.

Turn Left onto Ocean Beach Road. Head Northwest for about 18 miles.

When you get to the four-way intersection of SR-109, at Pacific Beach, turn Right.

You’ll travel North for about a mile. Just after the Ocean Crest Resort turn Left onto Sunset Street and follow it down the hill to Sunset Beach House.
