Nantucket House Rental Photos and Description

3BR/3.5 BA + Convertible Sofa. Sleeps 6+

If you are looking for a unique rental property with old school charm in the heart of Nantucket's historic district, look no further than Union Jack. Built in 1806 by house carpenter Lot Hinckley, this 3BR/3.5BA home is the epitome of Nantucket style. Authentic architectural details, classic yet comfortable decor, in-town convenience, and private off-street parking are just a few of the reasons why you will fall in love with Union Jack.

Union Jack accomodates 6-8 people and features updated amenities including a new kitchen with Viking appliances, All-Clad cookware, and carrera marble counter tops; 3 new bathrooms, 6 working fireplaces, central A/C, and classic mahogany furnishings with indigo blue and white decor. The house is 2500+ square feet and has 8 rooms. The first floor has living, dining, and library rooms with fireplaces; a wet bar, a kitchen, a half bath, and a laundry room. The second floor has a common den area and 3 bedrooms with private baths: 1) a rear king bedroom with a private master bath with tub and shower 2) a front king bedroom with a fireplace and private bath (shower), and 3) a two twin bedroom with fireplace and private bath (shower). There is also a pull out sofa in the upstairs den and an outdoor shower in a private nook off the back patio.

In addition to Union Jack's classic Nantucket style, its location can't be beat. The property is a few short blocks to Main St where you will find shopping, restaurants, art galleries, a movie theatre, library, musuem, the boat basin, and both grocery & liquor stores. Best of all, Union Jack offers a spectacular water view from the widows walk, a private side yard, a rear patio, and 3 off-street parking spaces so you can enjoy the beach by day and town by night (without the parking hassle)! We look forward to your visit!

About Darcy Creech

Year round island resident Darcy Creech acquired the house in March 2012 and named the property ‘Union Jack’ after its location on Union St., her father and business partner Jack, and the U.S. Union Jack (the navy blue flag with 50 white stars that is flown off the bow of U.S. Coast Guard vessels). A single mother of two and successful entrepreneur, Darcy is the founder of Peter Beaton Hat Studio, Hydrex Philanthropic, Nantucket Wheelers, the N Charity logo, & Pay It Forward Worldwide.

Darcy Creech purchased this house in 2012

Why Darcy Creech chose Nantucket

Union Jack is a classic Nantucket Whaling Captains home that has been lovingly and classically restored, and designed to provide you and your loved ones with an outstanding setting for experiencing the 'old school' Nantucket lifestyle and making memories that will last a lifetime.

What makes this house unique

A portion of your funds will be used to fund Nantucket Wheelers, a wheelchair biking initiative founded by Darcy Creech, that 'reconnects Nantucket's '4th Quartarians with the great outdoors and the community at large.' Darcy's motto? 'We make a living by what we get; we make a life by what we give.'

We pray that God blesses this house and every person who walks through its doors more than they could have ever asked or imagined. Thank you for choosing to stay at Union Jack. We truly appreciate your patronage.

We've rented 12 houses on Nantucket over 21 years and this one is TERRIFIC!

Union Jack is such a great house! It would be a terrific "staging ground" for a family gathering--there are so many living spaces--or a great rental for two families with kids who could share the twin room and the upstairs pull-out couch. We have rented 12 houses in the 21 years we've been visiting Nantucket, so we are experienced consumers. You have a terrific house, and you've done amazing things with it.

We loved the pineapple-themed wallpaper in the entry hall. I wonder who else will know that sea captains displayed pineapples when the returned from away, to welcome visitors? It just made us smile to walk in and see the pineapples, with the captain's bust (I'm assuming it was a captain) and instruments. The furniture and beds were really comfortable. I'm going to get a matelassé bedspread, we liked yours so much! The location of Union Jack makes it easy to get to many places: the boys biked out to Cisco and Eel Point--you go around behind most of the town traffic, which is a plus. We also had an easy car trip to the Observatory for Open Telescope Night, and an adventure all the way to the end of Coatue (we have the TTOR sticker). And Dave walked to the Downyflake! It was great to be so close to everything (in town and out), while still having a feeling of privacy. Thank you for a delightful week!
