Greetings to all our prospective guests! My wife, Valerie and I are pictured here in Mykonos, where we celebrated our 30th anniversary (2009). We have 4 adult children and reside in Marlboro, NJ.
Woodstock is magical. There is something in the air - an extraordinarily positive vibe...good karma, a pervasive sense of peace, harmony, balance...a true restorative respite from the hustle and bustle of 21st century life!
There are so many lovely and unique homes in Woodstock, as well as inns, lodges, B&B's, etc. What we feel sets our home apart is that it offers a truly unique 'getaway-from-it all' experience, unlike any other to be found in the area; a style/decor that is a distinct departure from what we see day-in, day-out in our everyday lives, or even in our travels. When you arrive at our home, the vision seems precisely as you would expect to find in a rustic mountain lodge log home. It is a celebration of nature...the glorious creatures that inhabit it, the natural (sustainable) products it provides, and last but not least the extraordinary artists and craftspeople who thankfully continue to this day to maintain the time-honored traditions of creating hand-crafted, rustic furniture and furnishings out of nature's materials/materials gathered from nature, e.g., branches, twigs, bark, stone, etc., left in their most natural/least adulterated state - in the style of the Adirondack 'Camps.' Throughout the house, you will find many examples of their work, e.g., beds made from logs, tables made from branches, twigs, bark, chairs/stools made from hickory limbs, twig & bark framed mirrors, etc., as well as numerous touches of whimsy, e.g., genuine antler door knobs, pulls and handles, antler chandeliers/light fixtures, and all sorts of items celebrating the animals of the American wild, e.g., lighting fixtures with images of moose, elk, deer, bear, wolves, elk antler rack above the fireplace, animal-themed coat hooks, dinnerware, etc. In short, we've strived to recreate a type of rustic, cozy mountain lodge of our dreams. Perhaps you too have dreamed of how nice it would be to have a little log cabin getaway place somewhere? If so, we would love to have you make our not so 'little' home your Home Away From Home! [All antlers, antler products, etc., used in our home were naturally shed...what looks like leather and/or animal skins/fur is faux - no animals were harmed!]
Valerie and Rick were great hosts.
They were very responsive and made the process as smooth as possible. Keyless entry made the check-in process a breeze. They also gave great recommendations for restaurants and markets close to the house.
The house was beautiful and more than enough room for our party of 10. The bathrooms and bedrooms were beautifully done, and there was plenty of open space for groups of our size to congregate.
The house was easy to get to from NYC and is within a short drive of Hunter Mountain.
I would definitely recommend this cabin to others and would look to stay here again when we come back to the Catskills!
This was our fourth year staying at this beautiful home. There were 9 of us this year. As usual, we hard a wonderful time. After visiting so many times, it truly is like coming home. Imagine our surprise when we saw it listed for sale in the window of a local real estate agency! We were devastated. While we will continue to take our annual girls weekend trip, we will truly miss our "little piece of heaven" log cabin!
Beautiful home with many amenities. We had only wished that there was a gas BBQ available as the charcoal BBQ on site was fillled with water and had only wet charcoal available. Ample sleeping for many. Steam shower did not work. Otherwise this home was great for our family get away.
We rented this magnificent house for a big girls weekend (11 of us). Compared to a lot of the houses that we looked at, this one was by far the largest, nicest and most affordable. It is perfect.
Usually a "Sleeps 16" means someone is on an uncomfortable couch in the middle of the common area. This house actually sleeps 16 with plenty of bathrooms.
Valeria was also amazing. She offered up her availability at any time during our stay, although we never needed it because everything was laid out, easy to find, and easy to use.
And the house is beautiful. Huge ceilings with lots of light and lots of room to spread out. The landscape is great too- hills on the back end and a giant, totally private front yard, complete with a large fire pit (and plenty of chairs!!).
I hope I don't regret reviewing this place and we want it to be available for our next trip to Woodstock!!
We loved the property! Everything was top of the line and meticulously maintained. We were attending my daughter's wedding and all the accompanying festivities so we didn't get to spend enough time in this beautiful home. We are all looking forward to coming back in the future when we can just relax and enjoy all of the properties amenities.
