About Julie

My husband and I recently purchased and fully furnished this in February of 2012. We have worked hard to make this an enjoying place for everyone. We hope you love it as much as we do. Our sons also enjoy coming here. My oldest just got married and he and his wife love it here too. We just finished the new flooring up and plan on doing the same downstairs too. The lower level now has its own heating and cooling thermostat. We have had professionals come in and take care of the wall and landscaping giving this the clean curb appeal that all will enjoy.

Julie purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Julie chose Gatlinburg

The Mountain view, and the amazing view of Downtown Gatlinburg, the tram passing by is an amazing view too, The creek you can see and hear at different times of the year. There is so much to love. I couldn't begin to name them all. We are truly blessed to be able to own this cabin.

What makes this cabin unique

You can use all of the facilities of the Chalet Village owners club. With three pools, a tennis court, meeting rooms for just about any occasion. Wedding facilities and just about anything you can think of.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was clean and exactly as the pictures show it. The fall colors of the changing leaves were picture perfect. The cabin is pretty far up the mountain but only 5 minutes from the strip in Gatlinburg. The National Park was also very close. This was a great deal. Maybe next time we won't go during the Bama vs UT game lol. This was copied from my flipkey site.

Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect place to have our first long family vacation! We were in love from the moment we seen it! Julie and Rick were great to work with. The cabin was awesome! Spacious, affordable, quiet, super clean, amazing views and everything we needed (even so of the things I forgot)! Our family enjoyed watching the tram go by from the hot tub. We also enjoyed the gaming area. We had 2 bears visiting in the backyard which was cool! Yes, the driveway was a lil tricky at first but after day 2 we had it mastered! For us the worse part of the cabin was leaving...we didn't want to! We are already looking forward to our next visit! I would suggest this cabin to anyone looking to visit Gatlinburg/Piegon Forge/Smoky Mountain area. You will not be disappointed!

Thank you Julie and Rick for sharing this beautiful log cabin with us!

Beautiful home with an amazing view

  • 5 of 5

The chalet had everything and more to make our visit to Gatlinburg perfect. Great location, beautiful view, nice pool (and little cold), short commute to town and secluded enough to enjoy the beauty of the Smoky Mountains.

Awsome property, everything was just as described.

  • 5 of 5

Our family enjoyed a week at Julie's cabin and thoroughly enjoyed everything provided.

The scenery was amazing, including the three bear sightings.

Everyone on the tram seemed very friendly both when we road it and each time it passed the cabin, the grand kids waited expectantly on the top deck to wave to each car load.

We had an amazing time, it was very relaxing.

The full sized arcade multi game, created an immediate week long family challenge, along with the pool table.

Unless you feel very strongly about your driving skills, I wouldn't recommend taking a full sized pickup truck. The driveway can be a challenge.

Owner's Response: Thank Yo so much for taking the time to review the property. It's funny you mentioned a truck. We have a crew cab truck, but its really quite easy after you learn the trick. I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay, and I hope we talk to you again. It was nice of you to keep us so informed during your stay. The bears are so cute. The next guest saw a baby bear yesterday. He was so cute I will be adding that picture to the papa bears den website soon. Thanks Again! Rick and Julie

Everything and More

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was even more than we had hoped - it was very clean, was perfectly decorated to give you the cabin feel, had great amenities, an amazing view, and was just a short drive down to the town and park. Julie & Rick were very communicative with us, and provided us very clear details for our stay. My husband and I took a long weekend to Gatlinburg (our first time to the Smokeys!) and absolutely loved everything about our trip. The short drive to town was great for us, since we felt very centrally located in relation to the trails and sites we knew we had to see. The view from the cabin is incredible, and we enjoyed watching the tram go by. We enjoyed venturing out during the day and spending our evenings cooking in the cabin. The kitchen is actually pretty well equipped with supplies, which was a big plus for us since we had planned to cook our dinners there! Julie gave us a call during our stay to make sure everything was in order, which we really appreciated. This place is loved and taken care of and it shows. Yes, the driveway is a little treacherous but nothing a little maneuvering can't fix - it's the mountains, all the roads are a little treacherous, just comes with the territory. Overall we had a wonderful stay, felt very at home, and would definitely recommend this cabin!

Wonderful getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Our family enjoyed this cabin very much! We have been to several cabins in Gatlinburg, this cabin had the greatest amenities! The game room area upstairs has so many different things to keep you busy when hanging out at the cabin. Would be great for teenagers. Everything was clean and well put together. Downstairs is almost its own little apartment! Security was also a great feature! You can set an alarm any time you choose. Views are outstanding. And the owners were very easy to work with and made our stay a breeze! Also, location was ideal for us! Right near Ober and was very easy access to get to our hikes in Gatlinburg/Newfound Gap/Little River Road.

Beautiful cabin, great amenities

  • 5 of 5

Very nice cabin. We come to Gatlinburg yearly for a week-long event, and have stayed at several cabins over the years. This one was one of the best. Very nice amenities, great view. Saw bears three times while at the property! Only note of caution is for the driveway, which is typical for houses in the mountains... if you're not a great driver, be careful going up the driveway!

The owners were extremely helpful and nice -- very easy to work with.
