Great view of Olympic Mountains and Victoria, British Columbia. Located in town just a few blocks North of the Olympic National Park Headquarters. It has a large fenced back yard with fruit trees as well as a covered patio. Port Angeles is a great Pacific Northwest town with easy access to Hurricane Ridge, the Hoh Rain Forest and the ferry to Victoria. This wonderful home is big enough to bring the whole family, with all the comforts of your home away from home.
We are a married couple who have family in Port Angeles. We live in Alaska, but visit Port Angeles several times per year.
Virginia Southmayd purchased this house in 2005
We bought this house in 2005 when we were living in Port Angeles. Circumstances took us to Alaska but we hope to live in this house when we retire. The house was built in 1947 by a famous Port Angeles builder and has had many upgrades since.
This home is located in town, so it has easy access to all conveniences of Port Angeles. It is less than a mile to multiple coffee shops, the library, the grocery store and the Olympic National Park. You can sit on the couch in the living room and look south at the Olympic Mountains or look north at Victoria and ships sailing through the Straits of Juan de Fuca.
I'm proud to say I'm the new manager. How excited I am to be working with the owner with our vision for this house. The photos definitely do not capture the beauty of everything this home has to offer. The view of the water from the living room, dining room and the kitchen made me want to see more immediately. We're taking one room at a time and will be posting new photos as we go. This is a rare find in that ALL THE FLOORS ARE HEATED. You'll be glad you stayed at our home called "North to Alaska."
This is a well located, clean, nicely decorated, and well managed home that shows pride of ownership, with more features than typical vacation home rentals. The bedroom and bath in the lower level are nicer than most converted basements and the lower level has an outside exit. The only things that could bother some people are that there is only one bath on the main floor for the living areas and the three main bedrooms. Also, the remodeled basement has some low ceilings and tight stairs which could be a problem for elderly or disabled guests. Overall, a very nice property on a quiet street in a good neighborhood. I would stay there again and I would also recommend it.
This house is located in a nice quite neighborhood, close to the entry to hurricane ridge, close to town as well. It has a good view of the water from the main room and dinning room. The backyard is huge as well (our kids loved running around). The house is not brand new but it is well maintained and very well equipped. The best part was the service we got from the property manager. we managed to lock ourself out of the basement and the property manager was in our house within 10 minutes of that to help us out. She also followed up later to make sure we were ok and is going to make sure the lock on the door is taken care of. Overall, it was a good experience and I will certainly rent this place on my next visit.
My Girlfriend and I wanted to get away for a few days to do some hiking in the national forest area not far from Port Angeles. We stayed in this mid century brick home for 4 days and had a great stay! We had our two dogs with us so it was nice to find a place with a reasonable pet policy. The house can be sectioned with an abundance of doors, so we were able to keep the dogs in the kitchen/sunroom area to get them cleaned up after hikes without dirtying the house. The back yard is also super pet friendly with secure fences and fence doors and a large area to run around. If you're lucky, the pear trees or cherry tree in the back yard will be in season. We picked fresh pears all week for salads and cobbler! Its a little tough to see in the picture, but the upstairs bathroom has been beautifully remodeled and the radiant heat floors were awesome after a cold day in the mountains! The basement has a full size washer and dryer as well as a large drying area with large drying racks which was handy for our outdoors stuff. If you've got a large party- 6+, there is plenty of living space and the kitchen's open layout make it ideal for group food prep. There is a cute coffee shop a few blocks walk for the early risers and the downtown area is either an extremely short drive, or a brisk walk depending on your preference. We were very happy at this location and look forward to staying here again next year!
We have stayed in many, many houses over the years and this was one of the best! Very well stocked with all the necessities for cooking and daily living. Lots of activities in Port Angeles. For example, The Crab Feed weekend was happening. Lots of maintained trails to walk. We took the ferry to Victoria one day and came back the next day. The owners and managers are friendly and helpful. Some of the best people we have ever dealt with in renting a home. The home was super clean. We loved the way the original style of the home was blended with modern conveniences. Thanks so much for letting us rent your home for a truly wonderful week.
The home is older, but it's bright, roomy, and clean. We were 3 couples visiting during Crabfest. The home had all the amenities we needed.and the location was great too. Travellers coming in off the ferry should keep in mind that the rental office is at least 20 minuites away. But we would definitely use these accommodations again whe we come back!
We had a pleasant stay in this 4 bedroom vacation rental. It was quiet, comfortable beds and living room furniture. The owners were responsive, providing fans to cool the house down after a hotter than usual day. We didn't stay in the basement bedroom because of a musty smell but the other bedrooms were very comfortable. It was a short walk to downtown where we caught the ferry to Victoria and a short walk to the Olympia National Park Visitor Center. We would stay there again.
