Beautiful home

  • 5 of 5

Linda –

Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. Our family was very comfortable here. We greatly appreciate the “cleanliness” of this home. Your housekeeper Paige must have an eye for detail because everything was perfect. We also appreciate the well stocked kitchen that allowed us to easily prepare and cook for our family. Great location too! We walked to town a few times a day. Those hills helped keep us in shape. Thanks again.

Nice Place.

  • 4 of 5

Very nice place. Old home renovated with most modern amenities. Great location, close to Main Street. Nice yard (mostly fenced in). Will stay there again during our next visit to Lake Placid. The owner and housekeeper were very accessible and friendly. I would have given the property five stars except for the fact that there are not very many electrical outlets. In fact, one bedroom could not be used because it didn't have ANY electrical outlets. The other bedrooms only had one outlet each. Traveling with a toddler who requires a baby monitor, white noise machine, and a night light makes at least one (preferably two) outlets a necessity. Additionally, most people travel with cell phone chargers, lap tops, etc. that require charging. It would be more convenient if more outlets were provided. Also keep in mind, there is not air conditioning, which in my opinion is not a big deal, but to some is a requirement. Although fans are provided, finding an outlet in the bedroom to plug them in may be a challenge.

However, overall, I would recommend this place and will be going back.

Owner's Response: Thank you Greg for your positive and constructive review. Additional outlets are on our list for 2016/17 updates. We also will be adding air-conditioning for the handful of days guests may feel it necessary. We have vacillated on this for two years. We have used our own comfort experience as a measure of the need and have found the nights to be comfortably "blanket cool", and have found fans easily cooled down the occasional days in a Lake Placid Summer where temps inched higher than normal. Since the comfort of our guests is priority, however, we decided to offer this option and will hope that guests will be of like mind to our environmental views in conserving energy as much as possible :) Thank you again for taking the time to review my property. I look forward to your return.

Convenient, family friendly home in Lake Placid

  • 4 of 5

We are a family of five and stayed here in Feb 2016. The home is on a quiet street, only a couple blocks from the center of Main Street, and thus a very short walk to shopping, dining and Mirror Lake. We enjoyed the large kitchen and dining room, and were comfortable in the bedrooms, although the two fold-down single beds are better suited for children. Linda was very responsive to all our questions. The only inconvenience was the one bathroom...made for a scheduling challenge after a long day of skiing. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return someday!

Wonderful location, clean, nice decor and had everything we needed!

  • 5 of 5

Just got back from a three day weekend in Lake Placid and could not be happier that we rented this adorable village home! The house was very clean and had everything we needed including sheets, towels, kitchen utensils, games and so much more. I think this house would be wonderful rent in any season. We were fortunate to have snow for cross country skiing nearby but even in April or May you could enjoy the shopping and restaurants that are within a 2 block walk and then go hiking! I would love to rent it in the summer to enjoy the large front porch and the patio out back.

We have rented many homes for various reasons and this one I would rent again with no hesitation.

Winter Vacation and Hockey Tournament

  • 5 of 5

The four of us really enjoyed our stay in your cottage. Everything was very nice and comfortable including the beds (My 6' 2" kid fit just fine on the Murphy bed.). I slept great on the master bed in a peaceful and quiet setting. The kitchen was well stocked with pans and utensils for preparing our meals and all appliances were nice and in working order, and we enjoyed eating our meals on your large dining table. The wireless and cable TV were easy to use with your instructions. The location was convenient to downtown Lake Placid. If I may, "Smoke Signals" an easy walk away on Main St, may have the best Barbecue I have ever had -- and I am from NC. Of course Lake Placid and the surrounding area is beautiful and offers plenty to see and do and having a comfortable place to stay made it even better.
